Nissan Altima 2017 loud rattling from passenger rear suspension. Vibration or traveling over bumpy conditions would create rattle noise. Vehicle has less than 16,000 miles and dealer stated that both rear shocks need to be replaced. After researching multiple Nissan forums have discovered this is a common problem not only with Altima models but with maxima as well. Dealer stated due to year it is out of warranty and received repair estimate for over $800. Dealer charged $50 for diagnostic even though I told them what the problem was. Had shock mount kit replaced on passenger side at another repair facility for less than $200. Loud rattle is now gone but shock was not replaced and is still making some noise over bumpy conditions. Driver side is currently not making any noise but probably will fail eventually. Contacted Nissan and they would not credit me for repair cost I incurred and would only cover half of the cost if I took vehicle back to dealer to have both shocks replaced. This is unacceptable and should have been recalled by Nissan due to high failure rate on parts with minimum mileage. They should be responsible for 100% of costs.

After getting a wheel alignment I was told they (americas tires) couldnt get the specs spot on in the rear due to technical difficulties they were having with their system I continued to drive the vehicle as I normally do. After a couple weeks I had notice my rear tire tread was significantly depleting thus making me buy new tires again for the 3rd time. I went back to americas tires for another alignment adjustment and with their system up and running properly I was told that my rear control arm was going to need to be replaced. This being only a month sfter I took my car to the dealership where they had supposedly fixed a recall dealing with rear suspension. To this day my car makes a skidding/screeching sound when im on the freeway and causes it to eat up my tires yet again, ive already had a blowout happen as well on the right rear side where I was told the control arm needed to be changed and I can feel my car pull side to side when reaching freeway speed limits and feels very unsafe.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a rattling sound was present coming from the rear of the vehicle. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the rear lower suspension link had corroded and separated from the rear bushing link. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer fuccillo Nissan of latham located at 976 new loudon rd, latham, NY 12110 were notified of the failure however, no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 103,000.
While driving on a state route I hit a bump in the road and immediately felt the steering wheel shift from even to the left about 45 degrees with a thumping sound . Also the stability light came on. I tried to steer the car properly but encountered a pulling to the left. I pulled off the road into a lot and discovered the rear left wheel and side (driver side} was lower than the right and the wheel was tilted inward. Further inspection revealed that the connection to the suspension was compromised. We had the car towed on flatbed to my local mechanic. He is located near the local Nissan dealership so we hope to get it resolved with his selp. My research on your site indicated that several (1000's) of 2013 vehicles experienced this problem but not many 2014 models. I believe the problem is not just for the 2013 models and the 2014's age is about at the same time when the 2013's have failed. (6 years old). I am hoping that Nissan follows suit with the 2014 models like canada did last year.

Vehicle when driving suspension springs sounds keep having problems can't have 3 passengers sit on back, due to causing weight barrier springs smell something burning and no power when driving.
I was driving under 25 mph (in a straight line) on a smooth rode when the driver side of my car felt like it locked up for a second. My steering wheel immediately lost alignment and the wheel needed to be kept at 2:30 to drive straight. I made it less than a mile after the initial incident (I thought it was just wheel out of alignment) but with each rode bump I hit, my back end got looser and looser. I finally pulled off and packed my car. When I went to move it, in reverse, the was a large noise and I could tell something was fractured in the suspension. The driver side rear wheel was crashed into the wheel wheel and the control arm was broken. This appears to be the same thing NHTSA action number pe18013 is in regard to, and I live in cleveland, OH, with more than 100,000 miles of my car's 130,000 miles put on in northern ohio.

Left work going to the grocery store. Noticed the steering was sloppy with less control. I went through a patched area in the road and the whole car shook and there was a noise in the passenger rear. I called my husband and he met me in the grocery store parking lot so he could drive the car home. He drove about a quarter of a mile and called me to pull into a parking lot. He got under the car and saw that the lower control arm had rusted and broken away from the frame. He also noticed the passenger rear wheel at a strange angle with the top leaning into the wheel well. We took the car 2 blocks to the shop. The shop had to get the parts from Nissan and when they ordered them they were told the part had been redesigned so both sides had to be replaced. They replaced both rear lower control arms, both rear shocks and other suspension parts. I am just lucky the tire didn't fall off while I was driving.

The front suspension is very poor. My car fall in a little hole and one of the front wheel was broke, because the suspension was bad job. When I turning star the engine sounds sometimes very rare.
When I give break it makes noise so went to meinke and they confirm there is suspension issue. Then I have checked online so found there was recall for which I didn't receive letter. I found is risk to drive and expecting Nissan to cover this. I don't remember the date but facing some small issue from 2016 onward. . Re call ref. Https://static. Nhtsa. Brake issue, abs, traction, while driving my car at 15 mph my brakes locked up and stopped my car in the middle of the road (with traffic) fairly forceful stop I might add. There has also been a grinding noise when applying the brakes at random time. 1 week prior to the issue with the brakes my driving assist sensors malfunctioned. After obtaining a rental car the Saturday that my brakes failed I was told that Monday morning that my car was fine and that my brakes failed when my driver assist sensors malfunctioned a week prior. Talk about scary and my family no longer feels safe in my car. Nissan told me this was a normal function of the car and there was nothing they could do about it. There is also according to Nissan rep an unknown clanking noise coming from the suspension and or steering. I truly believe that with all of these issues going on there is a huge risk of my family being in harms way.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v371000 (suspension). The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
Ever since I bought the vehicle my brakes, which also starts my car will occasionally feel like they get stuck sounds as if they might be rusty and when I apply pressure they catch. I will apply and then all of a sudden they click down. I'm afraid the longer it goes on sooner or later they will no longer work. Happens motion and stationary . Suspension every bump I go over I feel like my car is hitting rock bottom. Slow or normal speed. All these problems I have told since I first bought my vehicle. I was fluffed off telling me it was this or that and it was normal. I drove the same car a rentalnever never felt any of these problems. That is why I decided to buy a Nissan. Big mistake.

As I was driving home from work I noticed a noise in the rear of my vehicle. I made an appointment to have it looked at and it was said to me that my rear shocks are bad and that they had seized into the knuckle and were rusted. I then proceeded to contact Nissan north America to see if they would help out with this issue due to the vehicle only having 42000 miles. They told me that because I had an extended warranty and it was not Nissan's, and because it was not in the factory warranty that it was not their problem. I feel that this is a safety concern because the vehicle is very well maintained and there was a recall on the rear sway bar which could have affect on the rear suspension. They did not feel that my reasoning for requesting assistance was valid and I do not feel safe driving a vehicle that could potentially fall apart while driving.

Headliner was made incorrect for all 2012 models and Nissan is aware and refuses to issue a recall. We have two of the same year Altima purchased on the same date. Also there is something wrong with the suspension still and when I turn to left it makes a popping sound. Went in to get oil changed and was told I had an oil leak that was going back into my engine and blew one of my cylinders and tore an o-ring so had to have that replaced. Also something wrong with rear defroster that required back windshield to be replaced. Horrible control issues when going over 50 mph. Also sunroof repaired several times due to repeatedly breaking on the track piece. This car as very poorly made and Nissan will not own up to their mistakes. Also breaks squeak non stop and grind and have since cars were purchased, Nissan informed us this was normal since they have metal break pads on the 2012 models. If I could give cars back I would in a heartbeat. Huge lemons on the 2012 hence the entire remake of the 2013's, they knew they messed up.
Loud noises from front suspension of vehicle and it was due to the front strut insulators resulting in a loud noise in the front of the brand new vehicle when driven.
I have had my right front strut replaced 2 times. It is now bad again. They have also retorqued the suspension and replaced the strut mount. The noise doesn't stop. Problem started at 29,000 miles and continues at 43,000. The noise continues to get worse and Nissan only repairs it because of better business bureau arbitration on the vehicle.

The rear suspension has always been an issue. While driving the wheel will scrape against the wheel well. You can't fit more the two people in the back seat due to this issue. The two front exterior headlights don't provide adequate lighting to even see the car in front of you. Its extremely low/dense lighting even after changing out the bulbs. The electrical ignition switch to start the car has always been a problem. I have to turn the key, wait, turn it again, wait for the dashboard lights to come on, then finally the car will start. The power train gear control is another waiting game. To put the car in drive, I first have to slowly shift though each gear before finally putting into drive. Once I do put it into drive the car will suddenly jolt forward before I'm able to start driving the car. I recently had the transmission replaced cause it just stopped while in motion and struggled to start up again. It finally did, but it couldn't drive over 1st gear. I had to tow the car home. Also, few yrs back I had the head gasket replaced cause the car would shut off while I was driving. It would also not start up again if I had just turned off the engine. It needed time to cool off before restarting for me. And as of this moment, the car is in the shop again. This time it needs a new engine. While it's idling, it's making a very loud clunking sound. It's just never ending with this car. I know there were many recalls on the engine, exterior lighting and rear suspension but I never got the notices.

My 2001 Nissan Altima gxe/le car has a problem with its suspension. It makes a crunching/rattling noise. My car has been to 2 Nissan dealers a total of 9 times. In all it has been out of service for 17 days. They have replaced many suspension parts. But the problem still remains. I have contacted the manufacturer several times with my complaints via phone and letters. I have also demanded a refund under the California lemon law. But Nissan of north America has refused. On March 2002, I filed a complaint with the bbb auto line program. Once the bbb auto line reviewed my complaint they contacted Nissan. We had a Nissan dts person inspect my car. I test drove with him and he verified my existing suspension problem. I agreed to give them one more chance to fix my car on April 12, 2002. The dts person ordered both front struts and springs replaced again. As of September 2002 the same suspension problem has re-occurred. On October 2002, I finally decided to contact a lawyer experienced in the lemon law cases. He wrote the first demand letter to Nissan. The letter mentioned all my problems and demanded a lemon law buy back because of the suspension defect. On December 2002 my attorney?s office had to send Nissan another letter, because they had failed to respond to the fist one. Well just recently on January 2003 Nissan finally decided to respond to the letters and after numerous phone calls that were made to their office. Nissan said that based on the number of repair attempts, along with the type of repair that was performed to resolve the complaint, we do not feel that there have been any substantial repairs performed on the vehicle for the same non-conformity. Nissan went on to say that they are not required to repurchase your client's vehicle, therefore demands for repurchase and restitution of associated fees, is denied. They again offered to have a dts(dealer technical specialist) come out and inspect my vehicle. For the alleged suspension complaint.
Metallic rattleing sound from suspension when crossing over bumps or lane divider dots. Similiar to odi #746528 & #759328. Dt.
My car has a defect with its suspension both front and rear. I have taken my car for service to 2 different dealers for repairs. It makes a loud crunching, rattling and squeaking noise from the front and rear suspension. While driving over the slightest bumps on the road. Infact it has been to the dealer for repairs 8 times in all it totals 14 days out of service. As of now the problem still remains after the dealer has replaced numeros parts. They are aware of the existing problem but cannot fix it.
