The fuel gauge failed to drop all the way to e. No warning light that fuel is low. While on a city street, on the on ramp to an interstate my car's engine just stopped, no sputter, no lagging just 3k rpm to 0 rpm. I was able to shift my automatic transmission to neutral and coast to the shoulder on the on ramp. Unable to restart engine. Cranked but nonstart. Added fuel and car started right up. At the time of the stall the fuel gauge read approximately 33/8 of a tank of gas. Prior to this occuring, when tank would get low the warning light came on around 1/8th of a tank. . About halfway been the 1/4 mark and e. Since this occured I have tested the fuel pump, sending unit and fuel level float, and they all test ok. . When the tank was filled after this the fuel gauge moved back up to the full mark (slightly above,) so the needle is not stuck.

My wife's car shutdown on her last month and I had it towed to a local repair shop and they indicated the fuel pump was bad so I ordered a new one and things went fine for about a week and now the fuel hand just fluctuats up and down and just suddenly drops to (e) when it has gas or full tank of gas in it. Also the mileage display is showing inaccurate readings and blinking on the dash on and off and my wife is scared now to drive her 2008 Nissan Altima on long drives with this problem going on!! it happened while in motion on a busy hwy 278 in batesville,ms.

On 5/23/19 my son was driving this car on the interstate when the car began to decelerate and completely stopped/shutdown on the highway. It's a blessing he was not injured/killed when this happened. The diagnostic check revealed a sensor that the fuel pump needed to be replaced, so after an expensive repair on 5/24/19. Then on 5/25/19 while driving to work, the car began to do the exact same thing again and stopped on the highway. Nissan needs to address the issue with this car ASAP before someone gets seriously injured or killed!!!.
Headlights are very dim, changed the bulbs twice, still dim. Also, fuel pump went out.

The fuel gauge is inaccurate and the service engine lights illuminates with fault code p0462. Money spent unnecessarily on brand new fuel pump assembly problem still exists. Occurs both stationary and in motion problem occurs.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Altima. While driving various speeds, the engine suddenly vibrated, the check engine indicator illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump was faulty. The fuel pump was replaced and the failure was remedied. Also, the fuel gauge would display inaccurate readings and was inoperable past the half fuel mark. The contact stated that the engine shook and vibrated due to low oil levels. The cause of the failures was not diagnosed. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 136,000.
Driving down the highway, all power shut down to vehicle. Barely got it off roadway. Would not restart. Mechanic said it needs a new fuel pump.
I had the fuel pump change because the car would not start. I was told by the mechanic that it has to do with an electrical problem because somehow its not getting power to start my car.
Call has been stalling for a few years now it doesn't start at all. A mechanic came out and said it's the fuel pump.

I see in 2007 Nissan recalled the crankshaft and I was never informed of this. I took my car to sears on March 31st and brought a battery because I thought this was the problem the check engine light was still on so I took my car to my mechanic today 4-1-14 and was told not only do I have to replace my crankshaft sensor, but my speed sensor and my fuel pump system which is going to cost me a total of $1395. 66 to repair is there anything I can do about this since Nissan never informed me of the problem with the crankshaft in 2007?.

I noticed a tapping sound coming from underneath my rear seat of the car. I believe this has somethying to do with my fuel pump, as my old car did similar things and that was the result of it.

While attempting to fill the gas tank the automated pump will stop. When the attendant does it manually gas will shoot out all over, creating a fire hazard. As the gas is put in slowly by the attendant the hose leading from the pump to my gas tank vibrates violently.

About 2 months after purchasing my new 2002 Altima I took my car into the dealer because there was clanking noises coming from the engine which I noticed especially when turning the wheel. The dealer said I needed new motor mounts. After the mounts were replaced I still heard the noise. I took the car back into the dealer and because I could not simulate the problem, the dealer would not look at the car. I then found that I could simulate the problem by turing my steering wheel to the left while the car was stopped, then accelerating. It sounded like there were rocks rolling around in the left front wheel area. The dealer said I had a loose wheel nut and fixed the problem, although many mechanics I have spoken to since then have said the symptoms sounded like a bad cv boot. My car is now 18 months old and about a week ago I noticed that my car was not responding to my key fob correctly and I have come out to my car twice and the front windows are down. On Saturday my car would not start. I tried jumping the car and that did not work. The dealer said they would have it towed since it is under warranty but I would have to wait until Monday. I tried starting the car Sunday and again today and nothing happened. When the tow truck came the tow guy said the car sounded flooded. He turned the key, pressed the gas it after a ton of smoke came out of the exhaust, the car started. I had the car towed to the dealer only to have them tell me that the problem is probably the timing and because I did not take the car to them at 15,000 miles to have the timing checked, it is not covered under the warranty and I am responsible for the reparis and tow charge. I researched this site and found out that there is a recall on a part that causes the car not to start. It is at the dealer right now and they have not told me what the problem is, but they will have to keep it over night.
