I have taken my car in serval times to hopfully get this problem fixed but they can't figure out what it is! my steering wheel locks up when I'm on the road or turning and I can't turn my wheel when it locks on me. I have blown a tire because of this issue it pushed me off the road and I couldn't correct it until the steering wheel loosened up. I have 3 kids and I don't feel safe in my own car nissian can't figure out what is wrong with it but it does it in town randomly and even on the interstate and I can't do anything until it unlocks. Like I said it's been doing it for over a year now but has just became more often over time and more dangerous I am scared to drive my own car.

Steering wheel loose, comes out of steering column. The steering wheel is not bolted into the column and therefore the tilt doesn't stay locked and grinds. This is a daily problem that results in either the steering getting stiff or the steering wheel coming out for the column. This is a definite safety issue and Nissan needs to do something about it.
