The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. While driving approximately 65 mph, there was excessive vibration during the engagement of the brake pedal. The contact continued driving and upon reaching the destination, the engine was turned off and restarted; the vehicle operated normally. The failure occurred again and the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the brake booster was replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000. Updated 3/7/11 updated 05/20/11.
While driving the brake (not mashing the brakes)light comes on and the brake sounds as if it is grabbing. Vehicle has little brakes. Vehicle has to be turned off and restarted to resolve problem. Nissan Armada 2005, problemas con los frenos. Turn on light brake, vbc, slip, and not stop, make a noises.
I have a 2005 Nissan Armada. And I think that is a computer clinch in the brake system. I have had my brakes check at he dealership and they said there no problems but I have had incident where I have been driving and when I press on the brake it felt like it was just hitting medal. This has happened more than five time. And I have been fortunate enough not to be traveling in access speed. When this happen I have to turn the vehicle off and restart it and the problem is fix. I have told the dealer about it and they just do visual look without checking if there is a computer problem. Also my brother has a 2004 infinity and he has the same problem with his vehicle.
Brake lock up while driving resulting in abrupt stop of vehicle.
Vehicle: 2005 Nissan Armada failure: complete failure of the brake system incident: while driving lost complete brake system, leaving me with no ability to stop the vehicle. The problem resolved itself by restarting the vehicle. Resolution: I took the vehicle to the dealer and was told they could not repeat the issue and that they would "reflash" the ecm that "should" correct the problem. After researching this I found many other owner of 2004 - 2007 Nissan Armada and titan vehicle had the same problem. The problem is best described as an intermittent complete failure of the brake system that is resolved by restarting the vehicle. After many complaints to Nissan and the dealer they decided to replace the power brake booster saying that any component failure that causes this must be contained in the brake booster. They also stated that they have replaced other customers brake boosters with the same problem. This is a major safety issue that Nissan needs to make there customers aware of!!!!.
I have a 2005 Nissan Armada that has had anti lock brakes engaging at all different times in conditions that it should not be engaging in(example:sunny, clear road ,90 degree summer weather)this leaves me with very little braking ability. This is a major saftey issue especially when I have small children in my vehicle. I have brought it to the Nissan service dept. Several times and they tell me that everything is fine and cannot replicate the problem. I have googled the problem on the net and found numerous sites with pages upon pages of complaints over this same problem with my exact senarios of driving conditions and what happens to the vehicle. I proceeded to Nissan headquaters to explain my problem and that I am not the only one that Nissan has failed to help. They refuse to recognize that this is a major saftey issue happening to numerous Nissan Armadas years 2004 thru 2006. I said I want a rental paid for by them and I want Nissan to keep the car till they can rectify this obvious wide known saftey problem. They told me that Nissan is not responsible for this problem nor acknowledges it & that the vehicle owners are and at vehicle owners cost to drop off the vehicle for a undetermined amount of time(this could be a week to many weeks before problem occurs again & it is stated by numerous owners that that is how undetermined when it happens)till they can hopefully replicate the problem and repair it at owners cost along with rental vehicle cost. This is not a wear and tear problem caused by the owners of this vehicle model this is a manufactuer defect that Nissan refuses to admit and create a recall on this anti lock brake system. They also proceded to tell me that if I cannont afford a rental for who knows how many weeks that it could be to wait till the problem occurs myself and drive it to the dealer. That is a unaccepteable unsafe answer form them to tell the consumer to drive your vehicle till you have no brakes then bring it in. Something must be done!.
In March 2009 my 2005 Nissan Armada, which I bought new in late 2004, started to have problems with the brakes. The red warning lamps light up and the car lost most of its braking power, like not having any servo support. There were also noise and a soft pulsing feeling. We found that if we turned of the engine and then started it again, everything worked fine. Nissan could not find any faults with the car. The problem repeated itself 4-6 times a year. Nissan could still not find any faults they could not repeat the fault when they had the car in for tests. In July 2012, on my annual service, I asked again about the brakes. I was then told that other customers have had the same problem and that they now has a solution for the problem. I am surprised that Nissan has not recalled the failing brakes. Nissan's answer is still that there was no problem. I have the work papers to show what was needed to fix the problem.
2005 Nissan Armada le, 56k miles multiple electrical issues resulting in loss of critical functions: braking system, air bags, electrical power all while the vehicle is being driven. Have taken to dealership 8 times for repairs related to electrical problems. Most recently, loss of brakes occurred while traveling on a major road @ 50 mph; lost brake function when approached stop light. This has happened multiple times, I have reported it to the dealer 4 times. Each time the code is "cleared" but nothing is done. This time they are replacing the abs booster, but from reading posts of other owners, the problem recurs. Dealer refuses to report problem to Nissan.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact engaged the brake pedal and an abnormal grinding and pulsation was exhibited by the vehicle. The vehicle failed to properly decelerate. The contact drove to the side of the road and the engine was turned off. Upon restarting, the vehicle resumed normally. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and they were unable to locate the problem. The manufacturer was notified of the constant failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.
I rounded a corner at about 35 mph (pulling a trailer) and my antilock brakes system went haywire. The brakes were pulsing madly, and the truck slowed slightly. I pushed on the brake pedal and nothing happened. I could not stop the truck!! luckily, nobody was on the street and I was able to put it in neutral and turn the engine off while still moving about 25 mph and restart the engine at which time the system reset itself. Upon going to the Nissan dealer, I was informed that the vcd system (brake actuator) needed a software upgrade and that there was a service bulletin issued for this problem from Nissan. I'm appalled that this dangerous problem where the driver cannot control the brakes or stop the vehicle is a known problem, yet there is no recall, or attempt to notify owners. . . Someone is going to get hurt as a result of this. Not to mention that Nissan made me pay $170. 00 to reprogram this faulty critical component. . . Owners need to be made aware of this problem. I called customer service and they didn't want to hear it.
Thanks for your email. We'll keep a watch on this. In the meantime, you need to file a complaint with the national highway traffic safety administration or NHTSA. . Read more...
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. While driving 10 mph and engaging the brake pedal, it failed to respond. Prior to the failure, he heard a grinding and knocking noise. He was forced to use the emergency brake to slow the vehicle down. He was able to safely drive onto the emergency lane and shut the engine off. Within a few minutes he turned the vehicle on and the brake system began functioning normally. The dealer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls. The failure has occurred twice. Nissan corporation gave him a claim number and advised him to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired at his own expense. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact is familiar with other related year, make and model vehicles with the identical failure. The failure and current mileage was 45860. Updated 2/26/10 updated 05/11/10.

The consumer stated that on March 5, 2005 the driver's and passenger's seat belts locked when applying the brakes, the seat belts tightened like they were choking the consumer. The middle row seat locked, but did not catch in order to keep the consumer from going forward. Also when pressing on the brakes the vehicle shook so violently that one could not hang onto the wheel. The consumer had taken the vehicle to the dealer for the brakes, and the dealer said that the vehicle needed a new brake system. In addition, the check engine light had come on. The vehicle was taken to the dealers on October 5, 2005 because the fuel pump cracked. The vehicle needed a new exhaust manifold and the engine blew out. The vehicle needed a new engine. Currently the vehicle had 12, 000 miles on it. Updated 11/29/2005 - (12/05/05) the child safety seat was replaced twice. The rear second row seat snapped and pushed forward with the child in the car seat.
