Brakes Failed Problems of Nissan Frontier

The abs does not function correctly. While moving forward, fast or slow, on wet or icy (slick) pavement, when brakes are applied forcefully the abs does not work, brakes fail, and a clicking noise is heard (as if abs is not fully engaging). This has occurred since purchased new in 2003. Have had service many times and mentioned this problem. Dealer says they find no problem.

The contact owns a 2002 Nissan Frontier. While driving 25-30 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the brakes failed to stop the vehicle in a timely manner. The contact also heard an abnormal noise emitting from the braking system. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was no fault code and the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer stated that there was no documented records for braking system failure on similar vehicles reported to Nissan corporation. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

Brakes failed on public roadway, could not stop vehicle, crashed into wall to stop vehicle, causing serious bodily injuries.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driver 45 mph, he applied the brakes and the pedal depressed to the floor. The vehicle crashed into a tree as a result. A police report was not filed, but the contact suffered minor injuries. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop, but the contact was not informed why the brakes failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were 66,000.

Nissan 2004 Frontier xe brakes failed without warning causing a collision into an apartment complex entry sign made out of cement blocks. The damage to the vehicle resulted in a total loss. If the vehicle had been repairable, a serious concern for driver and passenger safety due to the high probability of repeated brake fialure. A total brake system repair had been done by a reputable repair shop approxinmately one and one-half years prior to this incident.

Brakes failure due to rear axle leak . Myself and 10000's others have been having a problem with the rear seals failure due to a faulty air vent that clogs and hot air will build up and the seals will fail and the oil get all over the rear brakes causes the brakes to fail.
