I have a timing belt noise that my mechanic says is from a manufacturing issue. Nissan refuses to comp a diagnostic at the dealership. I should not have to pay for a diagnostic or the repair if it is manufacturing, which my research tells me it probably is. Nissan customer service hung up on me.

My Nissan Juke shut off when I slowed down to a complete stop after getting off the highway. It sounds horrible when I turn the car on. Like a clicking sound. On youtube I looked up the timing belt issues with the Nissan Juke and it was the exact same sound. But there was only a recall on the v8 Nissan Juke so I couldn't get it in to the dealership. It also slows down when I go up to 60 to 70 mph.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Juke. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The vehicle was towed to pine belt Nissan of toms river (located at 229-245 NJ-37, toms river, NJ) where it was diagnosed that the timing chain was defective and the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was referred to NHTSA. The contact was informed that NHTSA chose which vins were included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, a rattling noise heard coming from the engine compartment and the vehicle stalled. No warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic that determined that the timing belt was damaged and a new engine was needed. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer Nissan of mckinney (3800 s. Central expressway mckinney, texas 75070) where it was confirmed that the timing belt was damaged and a new engine was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. Bp.
The timing belt along with other associated cranks and pulleys, are damaged. The car has been kept current with all maintenance and out of the blue the timing chain mechanism begins to fail. This is extremely dangerous to drive with engine failure looming around every corner, and the repair costs on something that should last is sky high. When this happened the first time, the car was stationary and I noticed the sound upon start up of the vehicle.
While traveling at 55mph on the highway, heard a clunk from the engine compartment and loss of propulsion power with an dry gear noise. Turned off the car and the next day it ran smooth down a street until I accelerated to get on a highway. The same noise appeared accompanying a check engine light and immediate reduction of acceleration while attempting to make a right turn. Turbo boost fault was recorded in the ecu. Took it in for service and the result was the turbo came apart. Dealer said they never seen a turbo apart with no signs of improper maintenance. Service bulletin NHTSA 10109203 and TSB ntb16-035a has talks about an engine cooling system turbocharger service. Oil line replacement required with turbocharger service. The turbocharger part number has been rescinded and replaced with a newer model. The dealer informed me that the car is unsafe to drive as the internal turbo components can come loose and damage the engine. This vehicle has had the NHTSA campaign number: 14v683000 recall completed. And a manufactures recall to replace the timing belt. If this issue were to happen when crossing a highway with traffic, the safe distance can be significantly reduced to the lack of acceleration power.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Juke. While driving at an unknown speed, an abnormal noise emitted under the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that sludge was on the motor and the timing belt separated from the engine. The technician advised that the motor and timing belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.
I have a 2011 Nissan Juke ( purchased brand new) when driving home from work the car started to idle weird and then just died in the middle of the road. Thank god I wasn't hit by anyone or in a major accident. Towed it a to Nissan dealership where there told me the timing chain belt broke and had to be replaced. The dealership called me the next morning stating that Nissan was aware of the timing chain issue and that they were issuing a recall for this very problem, so there would be no cost to me. After a week of my car being at the Nissan dealership, they called and said the car was repaired and good to go! I picked the car up and attempted to drive home but never made it out of the parking lot! Juke did the same exact thing it did when I originally had it towed in! the Juke went back into the shop that night. Next morning the service manager from Nissan calls to tell me that due to the timing chain issue metal shaving have now gotten into my engine causing damage to the point that the entire engine has to be replaced! since it was due to the recall, it will be of no cost to me. . . However Nissan cannot guarantee that the new engine won't have the same issues?!!? are you kidding me? and this is not the first issue with this Juke! first month I had it the entire rear differential had to be replaced! I also had to replace the alternator after it failed. . . . . Plus numerous battery issues, and the car is less than 3 years old! after further research I found out there is a class action law suit against Nissan right now as they were aware of these issues and did nothing about it! how is that possible? or legal? come on, Nissan! get it together. Safety should be your #1 priority. . . . But apparently concealing potentially life threatening recalls is more important. To say the least, I will never, ever, buy another Nissan, and neither should you or anyone you care about.
I was driving down transit rd depew NY 14043. I felt my torque drop and then my engine sputtered and died. The road is a two lane one direction with no shoulder. I barley able to get it in the right lane, with no power steering, before it rolled to a stop. I believe the only thing that saved me for being hit by another car was a police officer putting his emergency lights on. I took it to a Nissan dealer for service and they said the timing belt broke and bent the piston in the engine. Please act on this before someone is injured or killed due to this faulty timing belt.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact could not be restarted. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that the timing belt chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Drive at 30-35 mph when my 2011 Nissan Juke stalled in the middle of the road. Had to pull over and immediately had to have car towed to dealership. Was told by the dealer the next day that the engine needed to be replaced due to the timing belt. My car has been in the shop for nearly 3 weeks and my car still is not fixed even with the engine being replaced in my car. My car only has 40,000 miles on it.
