I'm not sure what happened but all I know is my turns over but will not start. It has new battery, new alternator, both camshaft position sensors replaced. It has been at the mechanic shop for 2 weeks and they can't figure out the program. I have heard that the security system may have locked up on it preventing it from cranking but I am not sure but all I know is I don't have the money to get it towed or fixed now cuz I have already had to pay to get it towed and the shop. Please help me.

This cvt control variable transmission in these cars go out so fast. The cvt transmission went out at around 115,000. We replace it because we pressed the gas and no acceleration when stop light turned green. Then missed the light then it accelerated late and almost got hit by on coming car. We just replaced this cvt transmission in July 30, 2020 at around about price of $5000. The only place that it can be replaced is through the Nissan dealership. They only guarantee their work for 1 years time. It is starting to malfunction in just over 14 months time. This is only after a little over a year worth of driving. This is ridiculous the amount of money people pay for them on to get $5000 worth of quality equipment. This is a safety hazard driving through dallas traffic and no shoulder to pull over on because of construction. I have seen on the internet so many complaints about these cvt transmissions. This is the second time transmission problems already replace cvt at 115, 000 miles. Now needs another replacement at 139, 000?.

Pressing door lock/unlock button on the door handles fails to lock/unlock all doors consistently. Rear door locks respond intermittently or not at all. Driver door often takes four button pushes to get it to unlock. Although it hasn't happened to me, I've heard other drivers mention difficulty getting into the gas cap (it locks when driver's door is locked). This issue has occurred in the last 6 months.
Transmission problems.
I first experienced this problem before January 2021. While driving the car it will suddenly experience a loss of power while stepping on the gas. It will do this under normal driving conditions. It has done it while I am driving straight on a street or highway or when I am turning a corner. I have narrowly missed being rear-ended or broad sided when it does it. I took it to ingram park Nissan in san antonio January 2021 and they told me the problem was a bad battery. I had them replace it. (I am an over-the road truck driver and don't drive the car very often since I am usually on the road for 2-3 weeks at a time. There are times that I have only driven the car less than 75 miles when I come home and the car won't always lose power. ) the car has continued to have the same problem. I took it in to ancira Nissan at the manufacturers request on 8-3-21. They diagnosed the problem as being a bad battery and alternator. I had them replaced and picked up the car on 8-14-21. While driving the car later on in the evening on 8-14-21 I experienced the same problem. Ancira had the car for 11 days and it is still not fixed. I don't know exactly what component or system is failing and Nissan doesn't seem to know as well. When the problem occurs several lights will come on on the dash (traction control, abs, air bag, seat belt, a triangle with an exclamation point). There are other Nissan Maxima owners who have posted comments on car websites who are experiencing the same problems. The other owners have said that they have had their cars misdiagnosed by dealers and continue to have the same problem. The problem seems to be mainly happening with 2016 and 2017 Nissan Maximas. I worry that the car will lose power when I least expect it and cause someone to crash into me.
Vehicle shut down , while driving would not accelerate.
The warning light for aeb lights with ifc is on won't go off and radio turns up loud on its on and volume goes out and usb port in front has stopped working. Radio has done this several times. Normally resetting radio will fix radio problem but it's not working now. I don't know why the aeb light is on.

I was about to get on a highway, so before I got on the highway I heard a loud blast overhead, like a loud boom sound. It was very scary that I most lost control. All that I felt was glass all over me and in the car. The panoramic roof just shattered by itself. It felt like a pressure blew the top off. A very scary experience that I don’t know what would have happened if I was on high speed on the highway, I might have lost control. I managed to close the sunroof cover and slowly made it to the next exit.

From a complete stop and in stop and go highway traffic, the car failed to accelerate. The gas pedal was pressed as far as possible but the car would not accelerate. This is dangerous because the issue occurs without any warning and I could have been hit by oncoming traffic. I had the car checked at a Nissan dealership, they kept the car for abour 6 days, they could not replicate the issue and the car did not give a code, so there were no repairs. The issue occured again 5 days later while trying to make a left turn from a traffic light. The car barely acclerated to 9mph. Since the car does not give an error code, the dealership said they could not make any repairs. This issue was also reported to Nissan consumer product customer service, who referred me back to the dealership. So no resolutions for this issue.

I bought this vehicle used and with the dash being defective from the heat and humidity, it puts off a glare on the windshield which makes it extremely difficult to see through.

05/21/21--2016 Nissan Maxima with cvt tranmissions problems. No current recalls, but lots of lemon law cases from 2012-2018 with all models except the Maxima. Have 94k on it and was driving and it stopped mid street almost threw my son out the front windshield. Took it to Nissan $4800 to replace. Bought vehicle with cvt transmission being sold as "smoothness". But in reality it has been a complete nightmare that Nissan ignores on the Maximas.
The vehicle was in a parked position at my home. Went and started vehicle and from park to drive it hesitated before it starts to move.

2016 Nissan Maxima with low mileage of 47,000 miles has a been in and out of the dealers' shop within last 2 years to get dealing with issues such as transmission replaced. Battery charging light and brake indicator light flashing on and off since last car shop visit. Burning smell after driving for a period of time. Dealer service tech claims he doesn't get the flashing light while out test driving vehicle. On 4/7/21, while driving the vehicle stops in middle of parking lot and would not start back up. Having it towed to dealership. Car currently in shop for almost two weeks. It was just discovered today, 4/20/21 the alternator needs to be replace for the 3rd time.
I purchased new vehicle March 10th the tire pressure came on soon as I purchased I took the car back it to big o Dodge get checked out but they told me they did not know and to take it by the Nissan dealer. I went to the Nissan service and all four tire sensors were bad and needed to be fixed the dealer (big o Dodge)would not help. They told me that they did not believe me or the Nissan service department. I also noticed that the front grille area of my car had small damage that they would not acknowledge that as well.
My car has less than 113,500 miles and started losing power and coasting, the speed would fluctuate and something sounds loose in the engine. I took it to lithia Nissan in fresno CA on blackstone and they told me the cvt belt needs to be replaced thereby causing the car to need a whole new transmission at $5738. 96. The car was in motion.

Twice on the highway if had issues where the car accelerated on its own and a few times it's seem to lose power and than compensate and completely launch leading to a quick jerking motion. I'm afraid that it could completely stop on the highway or accelerate into something. Other than that there's no issues but this is concerning since I'm always giving family member rides including a pregnant wife so it needs to be looked into in my opinion it could be a huge disaster if it happens to an inexperienced driver. *also I'm not sure of the exact date of when this happened. I just want to make that known since that's one of the questions asked.
My power steering pump has a slow leak in it.
Car failed safety inspection due to rusting of floorboards on driver and front passenger side. Turns out this is a systemic problem with model years 2002-2006. How can this not be a safety issue??.

When driving to work my sunroof exploded on interstate scaring me. It was a very loud noise. This is a safety issue for all Nissan owners. When bringing the vehicle in they stated that they were not responsible for the sunroof explosion. When going on line this looks like is been ongoing for awhile.

I was driving this morning on the way to work traveling on the highway around 5:43 am; and I heard a loud bang sounding like a shotgun. It scared me to death as I swerved and heard wind noise as if my windows were down. And also could hear glass falling onto my sunroof shade. I found a safe place to pull over and see what the problem was and whoa and behold my sunroof has shattered. If the shade was open then the shattered glass could have falen on me possibly getting into my eyes and causing an accident.
The car ignition will not let me turn it.

When you're driving in hazardous conditions the car loses stability and it caused me to go into a spin and hit a wall, anytime it rains you can feel that the car starts to lose grip of the road and I fear for my life every time it remotely starts to rain or the road is wet. And there's a recall on the Nissan Maxima regarding the rear suspension something and the effect of the recall on that vehicle is what's happening to my vehicle.

For a few months, whenever I drive on the freeway, typically for more than 30 min, the sensor with the two cars colliding turns on with a beep sound. It turns off after I turn off the car but will turn on after driving for more on the freeway. I've been driving with turns or hills and could be a part of it but I'm not sure. After 3 years of having the car, it started doing that. The abs was already changed as part of a recall and I don't have any other recalls on my vehicle. I see that another person has reported this issue at the following link. I talked to my dealer and they don't know about this issue and a scanner doesn't pick up a code since the car has to be off and the light turns off whenever I turn off the car. I don't know where exactly the issue could be, sensor, if so which sensor, or a part. . Read more...
After a recall service for an abs actuator, the f. E. B. Light activates for no reason whatsoever. Vehicle will disengage cruise control.
While my son was driving on the highway (straight and at a steady speed) the hood suddenly opened completely, mostly broke off the car, and flew into the windshield. The mechanic that inspected the car told me that the main hood latch was corroded and not functional, and that the safety latch was completely frozen in the open position. Nissan currently has a recall on altimas for hood latch failure. I contacted the company to request that the car be inspected, but was told that the wait would be 6 - 8 weeks, during which we should of course not have the car repaired, and would not be provided with an alternate means of transportation. When I objected, it was suggested that we could drive the car while waiting. When I pointed out that it now had no hood, I was told that whether or not to drive it was my personal choice. My inability to wait 6 - 8 weeks was deemed a refusal of the inspection, and the case (Nissan case # 40945684) was closed. Because my son's friend was recording a car driving ahead of them at the time, the entire incident is on video. (I tried to upload the video but was unable to. ).
Dashboard seems to be melting/ gets extremely hot and as a result is sticky.
For while the car would vibrate when hitting even the slide is bump causing instability in not only steering noises clicking but once we save enough money to pay for the fix finally finding out it was the insulator for the strut this part of the same recall which stated this insulator was a different manufacturer therefore not applicable to this recall.
My dashboard is melting causing a glare from the windshield! when I called Nissan, I was told that I have to pay out of pocket. However this a defective part from their manufactor thats causing the driver to not see!.
When car Maxima is sitting still in idle it leaks out a clear fluid. The fluid has no color and no smell. This happens when the vehicle is stationary and in idle.
04v326000 one of the recall number the other is 05v512000 not sure what to do at this point I've changed my timing chain also already I also received a letter stating if I had to replace it to contact Nissan I believe I'm just getting the run around.
I had an a. C. Compressor issue 3 years ago and had it replaced by trophy Nissan mesquite, texas in 2017. Now 3 years later may of 2020 my compressor has locked up again. It was working fine until a week ago when I was on my way to work it was great but after my shift was done and I came out to go home my a. C. Compressor was'nt working. So I was wondering if there were any Nissan recalls with a. C. Compressor issues on my Maxima.
The dashboard is melting, becoming sticky and emitting terrible odor; surely that is probably hazardous to health as it is a sickening smell. Would like to have this issue addressed as it is an odor that in unbearable for driving long distance.
My dashboard is melting. It's extremely sticky and I if I touch it, or put something on it, black stuff gets everywhere.
