Paint is peeling off of the hood and body.
Got the car in 2012 and was doing fine for a while until the end of 2014. Car had started jerking when switching between park, drive, and reverse and would also stall in between. By February, the car started revving and stalling during stops and was bad when I was in traffic. I had to try and get above 25 mph because below that, the car would seriously act up. Eventually stopped driving until this year when I took it to a shop to get checked out. While driving there the car revved and stall at every light and I almost hit the back of a car when it decided to rev at a 4 way stop on a hill. It's either jerking, stalling, or revving. I know it's a transmission issue and will be a costly fix. I honestly don't have the money for it. In between all this, the paint has severely started to fade and I have noticed other Nissans in my area going through the same issues. Also, why does the airbag light come on even someone is sitting in the passenger seat? the car just has been one issue after the other. Will not be purchasing another Nissan.
There was a noise in the car and it was time for regular maintenance. Needless to say I was shocked to learn that the motor mounts were rusted and needed replacing. The paint job has deteriorated badly even I had kept it clean and waxed.

Issues with the transmission surging and then a hard jerk or gear shift. Took it to the shop, and before checking, the shop owner was familiar with the issue because mine was the 4th '06 Maxima that had been brought in that week with the same problems. I have a black car thats 6 years old and the paint has faded almost to white on the roof of my car.
This is not a safety complaint. However, I purchased this 2010 Nissan Maxima one year ago. About one month after I purchased it, the paint started chipping off the bumper and now it looks terrible. I paid a lot of money for this vehicle and it was my ideal car and I definitely did not expect to have any issues with it whatsoever, especially one month after my purchase. Now I am having second thoughts about the quality put into the exterior of the Nissans. Love the car itself but very disappointed with the quality. Very disappointed and can't say that I will be purchasing another one. What's sad is that there is no warranty on the exterior when it was only a year and a half old. Definitely not a good look.

Paint blister. Submitted to dealer for warranty repair. Was advised the claim was denied because the vehicle had been repainted. I have owned the car since beginning and have never even applied touch up paint anywhere. Had a second opinion elsewhere to find that the gold fleck in the paint was not distorted, rendering the "repaint" theory false. Also, paint chips all over the hood from the poor paint job.

Paint seem to chip very very easy ! it looks like there is no primer under base coat.
The hood and front bumper's paint chips too easily. Have complained to dealership many many times who states that is normal for this vehicle and they cannoit assist me and I should of known before purchasing. Contacted Nissan consumar affairs and never heard back from them at all! this will hurt my resale value and looks terrible, needs to be reconciled.
Paint quality is horrible. Car has thousands of small paint chips concentrated on the front bumper and front of hood. This is not normal as Nissan insists. Their paint jobs are inferior and unfair to the consumer.
Paint is thin and is peeling.
