5 Structure problem of the 2005 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 05/28/2010

May/2110-while driving my 2005 Nissan Maxima I developed complete electrical failure and had to have my car towed to bill denny's car repair. The problem is that the electrical system is directly under a coin tray on the dash. The corners are not secure and small coins were able to slip down there thus short circuiting the electrical system. My auto repair person researched this and found this problem has been well known to Nissan. Many Nissan owners have had this problem happen to them. The complaints are all over the internet. This happened to me when my vehicle was 5 yrs old but it also happened to Nissan owners when their Maxima was new. This is not a warranty issue but a safety issue. There should have been a recall. Nissan is ignoring my request to pay for my auto's repair because my car was not under warranty. Nissan has in fact fixed this defect. When I had my car repaired in may this problem was corrected. . John anello writer for auto tech on wheels wrote an article of the month for his magazine 06/2009- it was entirely about this defect. There is absolutely no reason for this to be ignored by Nissan . My car could have failed on a highway at a high speed with a deadly outcome. I made a complaint thru the state of MD consumer protection division my case no#[xxx]. 6 Structure problem of the 2000 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 04/10/2010

The lower radiator support (tie bar) has rusted out to the point that it is affecting the alignment of the vehicle. The rust is concentrated around the place where the lower engine support bolts to the front of the car. It is entirely conceivable that the engine could cause the lower engine support to break free from the lower radiator support. Additionally, the excessive rust on the lower radiator support will significantly reduce the crash performance on this part of the vehicle.

7 Structure problem of the 2005 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 12/02/2009

I purchased my 2005 Nissan Maxima sl brand new from kraft Nissan in July 2005. Four years later, I have been very disappointed in the service that Nissan provides to customers. I have had issues with Nissan's service since day one. I have contacted Nissan in the past about issues concerning my Maxima. Yesterday (December 2, 2009) after work, I got into my car to find out that it was wet on the inside from the driver side door panel to the passenger side door. Most of the roof line was completely saturated with water and dripping from the sunglass storage panel and each door. I have not had any work done or accidents. I feel that there is a defect in the seals or drains in this car. This was not the first time this has happened. I paid for a luxury Nissan not a piece of junk and continually make my payments timely. Kraft Nissan informed me that there is nothing they can do because my car is out of warranty and would have to keep my car all day and charge me $90 just to diagnosis the problem. My problem is that my car is almost always park in a garage, whether at work or at home. In florida it rains a lot and I should not be having this issue with a car that is only 4. 5 years old. I promise you I will never buy another Nissan nor will I recommend to anyone to buy a Nissan.

8 Structure problem of the 2000 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 08/12/2009

2000 Nissan Maxima with corroded mount for engine center mount that is allowing engine to dislodge from car's chassis. Failed annual inspection.

9 Structure problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 08/05/2009

I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima with 96,000 miles and the undercarriage floor board is rotting away. I take excellent care of all of my cars and the car looks brand new, never been in an accident and serviced through the local Nissan dealer for all work on it. I have had six Nissan Maximas (1987, 1990, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2009) and I've never had an issue like this. I live in the northeast but I always have. I think something was up with the quality and materials for the 2004 model.

10 Structure problem of the 2007 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 06/04/2009

I have had several problems with this car. . . This being the latest. Since buying this vehicle brand new I have had to have the entire dashboard replaced because it warped, the radio replaced, the chrome rails on top of the car replaced and now I took my vehicle in for service because I was hearing a "chirping" noise. I then got a call back and was told that the compressor had gone bad. But it gets better as right after that I was told that Nissan got a bad batch of compressors and they can't get a new one for me. But it still gets better. . . I was then told that if I don't replace the compressor (at a cost of over 1k) then it will fail and damage the belts, which will cause the power steering to fail as well as damaging the condenser. So I need a part that Nissan says is defective so they don't have anymore of them and are waiting on a new supplier, but in addition to that if I don't get this part it will cause additional damage to the car.

12 Structure problem of the 2006 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 09/15/2006

There is a design flaw in the Nissan Maxima, as told to me by a worker in the service department. There is a small slit between the display screen and the small deck under it. Apparently, change often slips through there. If this is done, a modulator can be damaged.

Failure Date: 01/30/2004

The car started up and was running fine. My wife went back into the house to get our daughter and found the car had stalled. The car has not started since. I am concerned about this situation, because of the fact that the car justed stalled for no apparent reason. I hate to think what could have happened if my wife was driving the car. In addition, according to several post on edmunds. Com this is happening to other consumers. I have had other problems with this car since I purchased it 3-12-03. It has been back to the dealership several times for the following reasons: service engine lights coming on, leaking sunroof, cd not working, a fog/condensation behind center console screen, and interior molding coming loose. I have called Nissan USA and spoke to matt at 310-771-8454 ext 8454. If you can help with this please contact me at 410-239-0119. Thank you for your time and efforts.
