I'm unable to turn on accessory ignition or start car due to defective steering wheel lock mechanism. Part #48700-jk000. Manufacture is unable to supply me with a new one. This is a known issue by Nissan motors, not just for Maxima, but all intelligent key models. Currently can't even roll windows up.

Several times, as I have been driving down the road, the power locks (on every door) in my car suddenly unlock. At other times, only the front two doors unlock. Immediately before this occurs, I can hear the power controls on each door make an electrical noise as if an electrical malfunction is occurring. All four of my power windows also intermittently malfunction and refuse to roll down (while at other times they work perfectly). The lock defect creates a dangerous situation as my children who are riding in the can then exit the car.

Driver side power window malfunctions when using the "auto close" feature of clicking the button all the way up (2 notches). This is supposed to close the window all the way without having to hold the button. When I do this, the window shuts and then returns to half opened position.

Front passenger window will not remain close. The front window has an automatic up feature that allows you to put the window up with one click of the button. When activated the window goes up closes and then it comes back down 4 inches. Car has 24,000 miles and under warranty but Nissan will not cover adjustment of window or replacement of malfunctioning part stating it is a service item.

I own a 2000 Nissan Maxima. Since the purchase in 2000 we have had several problems with the electrical. Blown fuses, ignition coils replaced, etc. When my power windows stopped working, then my door locks, then my lights I decided to take it to an independant mechanic. Under the driver's seat there are 3 motors, all with wiring. The wiring was run in such a way that wires had been rubbed & pressed against metal partsf of the vehicle, leaving bare wires exposed. So, when you would sit on the seat the wires would touch metal and short out. I feel fortunate that I was not a victim of a fire beneath the seat which I believe would have been the ultimate outcome. I think this should be checked out to see if it is a common problem with this year and make of vehicle. 2000 Nissan Maxima se. Thank you.

Right-rear quarter window has a severe problem with wind noise. This is very frustrating and has been reported to Nissan's dealership several times. Nothing has been done to rectify the problem adequately. One dealership told me it was a known problem and nothing can be done. Nonsense. Please help. Thank you!.
Automatic windows do not have a safety stop button. Please provide further information.
