1 Wiper problem of the 2018 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/24/2024

360 cameras have stopped working on my vehicle. I've seen where there was a recall on the same thing, but my vehicle is not coming up in the recall. I did buy the car used, but not being able to use the cameras is definitely a safety issue.

2 Wiper problem of the 2016 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 04/26/2024

- front windshield; internal bubbles/separation of glass at top edge of front windshield as it meets the seal. - the glass appears to be separating internally, compromising the safety aspect and will start to spread downward over time. - the factory front windshield was already replaced once a few years back by Nissan dealership for this exact same problem (can provide exact dates/information later); and the same exact problem is happening again. Nissan dealership knows about it, but has not officially inspected/documented for their records, but I can get this completed. - no warning/symptoms other than visual inspection/noticing the issue occuring when cleaning car. - contacted Nissan consumer affairs about the problem, and that this is the second time of the exact problem, but Nissan consumer affairs would only state that Nissan could do nothing about the problem at this time, although this is a clear defect of the windshield manufacturing process. I provided pictures of the problem, and they wouldn't even address the problem, other than, Nissan can't do anything at this time about the problem. There is a Nissan TSB regarding windshield issues/defects, but also addresses warranty. The second replacement windshield is not in warranty, and asked Nissan to see if they could resolve the problem due to manufacturer defect and the fact that it may spread downward, causing more problems and/or safety stability of the top of the windshield and have an engineer or specialist look into it, they were not willing to do this.

4 Wiper problem of the 2017 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 11/15/2022

I bought the vehicle in question new and it has less than 10,000 miles. The low beam headlights have a definite line where there is no light above the line and very dim light directly in front of the vehicle( photos attached). I took the car to the dealer and was informed that this is “normal” for the Maxima and that there is no adjustment that can be made. I then sent photos to Nissan customer service (case # 48013453 ) and was informed again that this is normal for that model. When driven on an unlit road, one has to run bright lights at all times to be able to safely see. I have included photos of the light pattern. The sequence is backing out of the garage and then on a dark street. Please note photo 2 where I am standing barely to the right and I am not visible above my belt line. In my opinion, if this is typical of all 2017 Nissan Maxima’s; there is a safety issue.

5 Wiper problem of the 2016 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 04/12/2022

The headlights are dim. I have replaced them with brighter h11 bulbs but I still cannot see. Others who have driven my car have indicated that the headlights are noticeably dimmer than normal. I literally cannot see the roadway. Also, I started having problems with the cvt shortly before 60,000miles. The problem was diagnosed as rudder codes. I was not financially able to replace the cvt at the time although I did ultimately replace it. The headliner inside the car has been falling down for years and I keep re gluing it around the rear view window. The panoramic sunroof has a seal that is melting away on the two side panels at the rear of the car. I keep trying to seal them, but they keep getting sticky and melting towards total deterioration.

8 Wiper problem of the 2018 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 05/26/2020

Panoramic sunroof exploded while driving on interstate highway @ 70mph on hot sunny humid day. After research it appears that this is a known issue for Nissan sunroofs with numerous claims resulting in a class action lawsuit in calfornia. Nissan has responded to my complaint that they aren't liable even though the vehicle is under Nissan warranty with the exclusion that glass is not covered unless a known product defect is determined. My Nissan case number is 40381804. I've turned to my insurance carrier for repair. S this is a dangerous situation.

9 Wiper problem of the 2010 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 04/23/2020

My car has a defective dashboard that melt and become shiny, sticky, and reflective when exposed to sunlight. Soft, sticky mess! shiny dashboards causing distracting and glaring reflections off the windshield. As soon it will be hot again, I will again be afraid to drive a car due to the windshield glare from the shiny melted dashboard. I have no photos of the shiny panel, because it was last summer, when I was taking care of a dying husband, who passed away last September. I did not have time to take photos of the car and think about it. But the panel is still sticky. In addition to this problem, the dashboard has a many cracks, photos that I can show. Such a well-known manufacturer used the wrong material for the dashboard. This is not my fault, so I do not have to pay a lot of money for replacing the dashboard. I don't have money for this, since I only get social security check. In addition, we retired at the beginning of 2015 and my car is most of the time in the garage. I am the only one using this car. The mileage of the car is 51152 ml.

20 Wiper problem of the 2009 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 03/14/2017

My 2009 Nissan Maxima has a cracked and melting dashboard. The result of this is that the sunlight causes an extreme glare on the windshield that makes visibility almost impossible on sunny days. A biker or pedestrian could be crossing the street in front of me and I would not know it due to only seeing the glare on the windshield. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs about this and they were nothing but rude the entire time. They said there are no known defects with it and they don't believe it is an issue. I told them that I cannot see and it is an extremely big issue and they disagree. I even offered to pay towards the cost of a new dashboard and they said they aren't going to do anything about it. There seems to be nothing else I can do at this point and it is only a matter of time before an accident occurs due to the blinding reflection from the dash.

21 Wiper problem of the 2009 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 01/01/2017

The dashboard has melted causing severe glare on the windshield. This defect makes is very difficult to see cars and pedestrians. This car was purchased for our son and at this point it is not safe to drive without a new dashboard or as we have it today, covered with a towel. We have contacted Nissan at least 3-5 times however they have indicated that there isn't anything they can to do to assist. I did tell them that this is not acceptable for them to only cover cars in the state of florida and they should be loyal to all customers regardless of the state.

24 Wiper problem of the 2009 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 01/01/2016

Dash defect. The dash on the driver's side looks like melted tar creating a glare while driving. It is my understanding that there was a class action lawsuit against Nissan's 2008 & 2009 altimas that have the same issue. When I contacted Nissan USA (case # 2716855) they told me that they could offer to pay for half of the repair which would still be $1000 out of pocket. My question is; are they waiting for a fatal accident to happen before they offer a campaign for recall? your attention to this matter would be appreciated.

27 Wiper problem of the 2007 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 05/23/2015

To ntsb: I purchased and installed replacement wiper blades for this vehicle, they were installed per the enclosed instructions. . . Once the wipers were used during a recent rain event, it was evident that a problem with the new wiper blades was occurring. I had the wipers inspected by the auto parts store sales person and he confirmed my findings. . . There was a design problem with the wiper blade assembly, a 1/2" offset in the mounting that cause the wiper blade on the driver side to strike the windshield trim with full force, actually bending the metal trim, so another set of wiper blades were needed, due to the interference issues. Here is most of my letter to trico, please read. . . To trico products: I want to express my concerns over the trico sentry replacement wiper blades that I purchased at my local o'reilly auto parts store last year. The specified part number for the drivers side of my girlfriends 2007 Nissan Maxima ( #32-260 ) did not perform as it should. . . The passenger side was not an issue, here is the issue: when the wipers were running, the driver side wiper was hitting the widow post, and there was a very loud banging noise that was so loud that was just crazy! this noise was only heard once the wipers were running. . . And of course we are in the middle of a major drought, because it hasn't rained in southern California in like forever. . . The trico sentry wiper on the drivers side actually put scratches and dents on the window trim. This problem / issue happens because of a . 500 inch offset in the wiper blade mounting. . . This 1/2" offset, is what I would call a design flaw in this case. It's all about safety ! and this problem may / will eventually lead to a wiper failure. . . Regards james cool.
