The contact owns a 2003 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the check engine light was illuminated and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The dealer advised the contact that one of the five catalytic convertors was faulty and needed replacement. The contact did not have the catalytic convertor replaced. The failure mileage was unavailable.
2 weeks after the 60,000 service (at 63,500 k)I had my catalytic converter replaced. At that time, the dealer said I needed the transfer case seal replaced ($800). That was not the real problem, the bearings were defective- I need a new transfer case (rebuild $900). But no parts are available so need to buy new transfer case from Nissan ($2500). Definitely a 2003 Murano manufacture defect.
