1 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/07/2020

The emergency braking system shuts off with no warning and in turn deactivates the adaptive cruise control. This has happened several times and the last occurrence happened on a two lane highway in clear weather conditions with an 18-wheeler following in close proximity. When I brought the vehicle to the mechanic at the dealership, the code showed that the distance sensor must be replaced because it was out-of-date. When I asked the manufacturer of the car to pay for the replacement, they refused. I have dealt with four people at the corporate office and they refuse to pay the $1400 to replace the faulty factory original part. Also note, I have replaced the transmission two times in 9 months on this vehicle and those were covered under the certified pre-owned warranty. I am beginning to suspect I have a lemon.

3 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2011 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 07/07/2014

I have noticed on numerous occasions this summer, a crackling sound in lower portion of the front windshield. I actually remember hearing it last summer but it is now more audible. The warm weather must be a factor. I have also experienced problems with my keyless fob, it does not always work and my ignition an rear lift gate sometimes will operate even when the fob is within 3 feet. This has occurred several times over the past 2 months. I took it to Nissan and they could not find the problem. I purchased the car brand new in Aug. 2011. No accidents.

4 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 03/12/2014

There has not been a wreck yet, but if my 16 year old daughter continues to drive this car there will be a wreck. We bought our 16 year old daughter a 2004 Nissan Murano. The driver side sun visor randomly drops down while she is driving. Nissan wants 400. 00 to replace the sun visor. This is a defect in the vehicle. I have gone online there are 100's of compliants about the 2004 Nissan Murano's sunvisor. I want to issue a formal compliant about this very serious problem!!!.

5 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 03/12/2014

I have never owned a vehicle with this many blind spots! I have had so many "close calls" and it finally caught up to me. I was backing out of a parking place and backed into a car. The car was double parked but I looked in my mirrors and over my shoulder and never seen the car. This being said, I was already scared of my Murano prior to this because of the side blind spots. I have almost hit pedestrians, cars, and bicyclists crossing the street on numerous occasions. The vehicle where the side mirrors are is way to big, along with the mirrors, there is a huge blind spot. I have been very cautious when turning because of this but never realized how the blind spot in the side rear was I till I hit that car. The rear back windows are small but the issues is the windows are to high and the body is at an upward slant leaving no view when looking over your shoulder. This gives people a sense that they can see but you can not see a car sitting at your rear quarter panel. With all of the blind spots I am afraid I will run over a pedestrian walking across the street as I am turning and now afraid I will back into something or someone due to the side rear blind spots.

6 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2003 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/05/2013

Passenger side mirror destroyed by other motorist, when bringing it to the dealer in long beach they wanted to give me the car back with all the door not working. After he already charged over $400 for the rear view mirror we were unable to lock the car, open the door except manually, after a 3 days with a rental car the Nissan dealer charged another $550 for a broken actuator that was not broken before we brought it to the dealer. Coincidence, I think not, the web is full of folks that have the same complaint. It's a rip-off and they need to be stopped.

7 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 06/07/2013

While driving on the highway, my situational awareness was extremely compromised when my my driver's side sun visor inadvertently came down and would no longer stay in the upright position. I had to drive with it this way for the rest of my trip (over 2 hours) with heavy rain. It was dangerous as my visibility was substantially obstructed with the visor. A quick search in the internet revealed that this is a somewhat common occurrence due to poor visor design and Nissan seems to be overlooking the issue. Replacement visors are several hundred dollars and seem to fail alike in the same spot (the arm headliner attachment). If Nissan won't re-engineer the part to correct the problem, they should replace it free of charge. This is a safety issue bound to reoccur.

8 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/20/2012

Door lock actuators began to fail in our 2005 Nissan Murano. They stopped responding suddenly and when we thought the car was locked, it was in fact opened, which is a safety issue. It is a very common issue and usually all actuator go out at the same time. We have replaced driver's door actuator (that cost us $400) and now have to deal with other 3. Hopefully Nissan will recognize this as a serious problem and will issue a recall.

9 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2006 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 04/02/2012

I am having problems with the drivers side sun visor in my Nissan Murano. It will just drop down suddenly. At first I was able to pull the visor down and move it forward to help protect my eyes from the sun. But that didn't last long since it will just fall straight down and block my view. When it falls I can not see the cars in front of me. I am not a tall person but I would have to be extremely small to see under the visor when it falls in straight down position. The other day, I was driving on the freeway and my sun visor suddenly dropped straight down . It really startled me cause I lost visibility. I screamed cause I could not see the cars in front of me like I mentioned earlier. As quickly as I could I lifted the visor and held it in place and continued by journey. It was pretty nerve wracking. I could have gotten into an accident and injured my passengers, myself and other drivers. And with traveling at high speed it's was an extremely dangerous situation. My dealer said the cost to repair would be around $500. I feel Nissan should take responsibility for this and issue a recall but I haven't seen any yet. This sun visor issue is very dangerous to all of us out there on the road drivers and passengers. I hope something can be done about this. Thank you for listening.

10 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/25/2011

Original owner, purchased new in 2005. The driver side visor will not stay in up position and must be held in place by other means . (I am currently using a bungee cord that is attached to the visor clip and ran accross to the drivers side roof handle above window to hold the visor up so that I have adequate visibility through the front windshield). When attempting to reposition the visor in the up and lock position I heard a popping sound. After that, the visor has failed to stay locked in the up and flat postion, keeping it flush against the interior roof. If not using another means to keep the visor up, it will reamin in the down position and blocks drivers view. Does not have the flexibility to remain at an angle to block sun, only hangs straight down.
