1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2025 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/18/2025

While driving my new 2025 Nissan Murano (owned for 3 weeks), I parked the vehicle and exited. I realized the car was sticking out into traffic, so I got back inside to restart it. When I attempted to start the vehicle, the dashboard displayed the message: “warning: key system error – see owner’s manual” and the car would not start. The vehicle remained disabled for at least 10 minutes while partially obstructing traffic, creating a safety hazard. I contacted the dealership immediately, and they advised me not to drive the car until it could be inspected. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, where it was held for 24 hours. After consulting with Nissan, the dealer reported that the issue may have been caused by not pressing the “park” button prior to shutting off the engine, and that the system may intentionally shut down for 10 minutes to perform a “safety check. ” this explanation was concerning, as the car became unexpectedly disabled without prior warning or symptoms, and the dealership had not previously encountered this issue.

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2016 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/31/2025

I have been experiencing complete driving failure with my 2016 Nissan Murano. It shutdowns randomly without any warning well driving in traffic. I have already experienced being put in a crash risk three times. I have been trying to work with the dealer for almost 2 months now, only to receive my SUV with the same issue. I am terrified to be forced to put my children in such a high risk automobile as this is supposed to be our reliable transportation. I am highly disappointed and uncomfortable with the dealership stating repeatedly they don’t know what’s wrong with my vehicle as they are no codes to factually state the real issue. In the process I am being told I need to pay for highly priced repair guesses or problems that have been generated in their care trying to figure things out. The vehicle has even stopped on them while driving. After driving off their lot twice only to be stranded and put in a crash risk I am not comfortable with being rushed to pick up this vehicle without total safety concerns being addressed. Nissan has not addressed my concerns about their vehicles having recalls about this same issues, only stating it doesn’t show up for my VIN# well why am I having the same exact problem? the safety risks of the vehicle failing in the mist of traffic with absolutely no warning is a huge life threatening risk and shouldn’t be of the hardship of my family as I immediately had it towed to the dealership to assure safety for all. I purchased what I thought would be a safer longevity vehicle to transport my children. I am really having a difficult time with understanding of my concerns are of top priority. As I do appreciate being given a rental while they try a figure it out. My major concerns are being given the vehicle back at the same exact safety issues or worse. Please your cooperation in assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/17/2025

Drivers seat is not sitting right almost seems like it came unhinged. Driving on a short distance trip I noticed that every time I needed to turn and it the road was windy I could smell fuel and it seems like I was loosing gas as I was driving like it was punchard or spilling some how. . I'm no mechanic but as a pregnant woman I was absolutely nauseous from going only an hour away. Also it seemed like I would periodically loose power and at one point actually had to pull over and let the vehicle air out and cool down. Seems like the was a situation with the coolant as well had to replace the cap and it looks as though that had been a issue with the previous owner as well.

Shortly after applying the brakes, the vehicle's engine revved very high and the car launched forward despite my foot on the brake and then struck another vehicle in front of me. The automatic emergency braking did not trigger. The air bags did deploy. No significant injuries, but both cars were damaged, my Murano likely totaled. 20 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/09/2023

I bought this Nissan Murano after the owner of suncoast quality cars gives me the nada - consumers report, which states the car was scored as an 82, in "good condition" with major repairs needed. After picking the Murano up 1-week after I made the purchase, when driven more than a couple of miles, you could feel the transmission slipping. While the owner of suncoast said that his mechanic had done a full diagnostic test and had confirmed nada's scoring, just to make sure I took it to courtesy Nissan of tampa and paid for their certified Nissan mechanics to do a full diagnostic test. Courtesy Nissan's diagnostic test revealed that the transmission would need to be replaced, which while I did purchase a used car warranty from suncoast, the car has been out of commission since roughly a week after receiving delivery from suncoast. When I contacted bart pilipajc (owner) by email on 4-separate occasions, from 2-separate email addresses, and text, he states he never received them. Given the owner's approach, and refusing to own up to his lies, or take any kind of responsibility here, I would like a full refund, as I would have never purchased the car, if I knew it had a major safety issue and would have to have the transmission replaced immediately after delivery, and I most certainly wouldn't have paid the price of a car that nada stated was in "good condition", as the cost of the transmission is actually 65% of the price I paid for the car. With the transmission needing to be replaced, the same measuring tool (nada) that suncoast used to sell me the car, actually states the car is worth thousands-less. Attached, you will also find a copy of the results from the certified Nissan mechanic at courtesy Nissan of tampa. Warm regards, david heacock david. Heacock76@yahoo. Com 813-588-1753.

24 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2016 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 12/21/2022

On multiple occasions the engine has cut off. Once a few seconds after starting the engine cut out. Another time while waiting in a turn lane to turn left the engine cut out. Another time while driving in the center lane the engine cut off and additional times. It has cut while in park, it has cut off while in drive. This is very unsafe especially when driving and there are other drivers. There is no warning it is going to happen. This is my teen's designated vehicle and we have another teen who will be driving this car soon. We took the car back to the dealer just a few days after purchasing to have it checked out. They kept it for several days but couldn't find any issue. We picked up the the car back but after a few weeks the engine cut out twice and we took it back in. This time, there also happens to be a small oil leak. They said something about replacing the bank2/banking cellunoid and it might be a timing issue.

26 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2016 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 08/08/2022

The Nissan Murano’s were recalled back in 2020 stating their cvt was causing stalling issues mid driving and overheating in extreme weather (heat). I complained to Nissan prior to this recall and was told it was filter issue then a battery issue. Of course if was neither. The recall was completed, however for the past year and half my Nissan Murano hybrid stalls when the air condition is on during the summer. The car drives fine in the winter and late fall. I have taken my vehicle to 2 Nissan dealerships owings mills and ellicott city wanted to ensure of the issue. Both came back with the same answer, for the consumer rep ali suggested getting a second opinion and I informed him I did. The hybrid cvt is overheating mechanical failure due to a part inside the transmission. Nissan refuses to fix stating I need to pay $11,000 for a new transmission to fix the issue. The service rep john stated no other Murano has ever had this happen and of course they no longer make my year (2016). I have contacted Nissan consumer line twice and was informed they will not be doing a good will either. The cost is so high was told because they have to build a new one. I believe Nissan knew of this problem and ignored and was hoping the recall would fix the shudder and shut off of the vehicle. Another recall needs to be done on cvt’s for the brand Nissan and should be responsible for fixing this.
