1 Car Stall problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 11/19/2020

I have been having problems with my car smoking once I start driving. I have to consistently add motor oil and it smokes more. My mechanic tells me he ran two diagnostic tests and nothings coming up. Then my daughter and granddaughter were on rt 130 in pennsauken NJ my SUV just stalled and wouldn't let me give it gas. Then it just jumped into gear. It did it twice while cars were speeding by trying to avoid rear ending me. My heart felt like it fell into my seat. I had to put my hazard lights on until I could find a spot to pull in. It happened again the next day. Right now is not the time for this to happen. I have transport my motherto her heart doctor appointments. However I too scared to drive.

2 Car Stall problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 08/09/2020

I was driving the car and stopped at a red light. When I hit the gas to go when the light turned green the car would not go. It took about 20 seconds before it would go and when it did it acted like I had my foot on the gas pedal which I did not. It has done this numerous times. I replaced the fuel pump and took it to a mechanic twice. Nothing that has been done has fixed the problem. I have almost been rear ended several times due the fact that the car stalls.

4 Car Stall problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

My Murano has been stalling to pick up speed have replaced over $1500 in parts. But still cant locate the problem, at the mechanic shop they said it could be the solenoid sensor but they dont know if it could be it. When driving on highway sometimes it will not pick up speed and will only drive 30 to 40 mph. Other times while driving on highway it will stay at 60mph and will not go over. The engine looks a bit shifted as well I don't know what could have caused it. And it makes a really ugly loud squick that we have been trying to fix but don't know if it could be because of engine shift. No accidents issue has been going on for more than 3 months.

10 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 02/05/2019

Stalls: this vehicle was recalled for stalls and the problem never went away,(not sure if the repairs was really done). The stalls are becoming worse!!!! problem: when the vehicle is driven for more than 15 minutes and it comes to a complete stop, (at traffic light, in city or anywhere) the vehicle sporadicly stall when the accelerator is pressed. If the road has a slight incline the stall is more eminent, so that the vehicle won't move even when the accelerator is pressed to the floor. The only two things that remedy the situation a) place the vehicle in reverse [very dangerous->city driving], b) turn the engine off then restart the vehicle [also very dangerous]. This problem has been ongoing since 2007 but it is getting worse.

23 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/29/2016

While in the process of accelerating my vehicle from a stop, I pushed on the accelerator, the vehicle did not move, I thought maybe it was out of gear for the simple fact that it did not respond when pushing down on the accelerator; clearly that was not the case the vehicle was still in drive. However, I pushed on it again an it was big jerk before the vehicle moved forward. . . . This problem/issue has become very annoying, but most of all dangerous an are people lives at risk and jeopardy of causing an accident. It's very scary driving my vehicle not knowing if the vehicle will or will not accelerate properly as it should. Driving on a highway this matter becomes even more dangerous. In addition to that when pressing on the accelerator the vehicle seems to be very loud, each and every time when pressing the accelerator. I do not like putting my family's life at risk when they're riding along with me. This issue must and need to be address ASAP. I am very disappointed because the fact of the matter Nissan and or the NHTSA have not recalled the 2004 Nissan Murano to correct this serious matter. Lord and behold it shouldn't take anyone to lose their life or (lives) before this stalling issue is corrected. People bought this vehicle because Nissan is known to make good quality vehicles and have been known to have a good reputation for safety. I'm beginning to second guess the quality of Nissan vehicles. My kids are everything to me, so with kind regards can this matter be taken serious. All lives matter.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

25 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/23/2016

My vehicle was in motion on the highway going about 50mph, when suddenly traffic came to a halt, when I pushed on the accelerator, there seem to be loss power and acceleration which is very dangerous, I had my 3 kids and grandchild in the vehicle with me. As I pushed the accelerator to the floor nothing happened the car wouldn't move, good thing a semi-truck wasn't behind me, we all would have been dead. This is scared me and my family. After waiting about 2 or more minutes the car junked and lunged at a high speed I could have ran into the back of another vehicle. This is beginning to happen more frequent now maybe 3-4 days or more out the week. Stalling and loss of power (no response) while in traffic; is in deed a big factor to have this matter looked into. I've seen numerous complaints regarding the same incident my family and I experienced. There should be a recall regarding this matter. In addition, to that the actuators on both passenger doors (front and back) doesn't work, it has to be locked manually. Also, the hatch lock doesn't lock the handle gets stuck.

27 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 10/13/2015

My 2004 Murano had a lot of stalling and stopping, problems with accelerating the car. It stop on multiple occasions. Fluid leaking, from engine and fuel tank, and steering column. Power steering is rigid, and locks, and car stops when turning. The windows went up and down uncontrollable. Power control panel , did not function. Nissan insisted that vehicle is old. I think the car is possessed. All of theses things occurred while I was in motion driving the car on highway, the roads, stationery, and especially turning, and trying to accelerate the car, and it would then completely turn off, Nissan refuses to acknowledge any thing is wrong. They stated what do you expect after buying a car this old. I just want to make sure my car is safe by your standards not theirs. After receiving my car from Nissan it was even worse, I brought the same issues to them after paying $5200 of what they said were repairs. Thanks.

30 Car Stall problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 07/06/2015

This complaint relates to a closed recall for the 2005 Nissan Murano NHTSA campaign id number: 05v3190. Two months with the vehicle and I had transmission problems, where the vehicle lost power and drive-ability, bringing my passengers and myself to a harms way. I contracted aamco to replace the transmission, one month later, Nissan USA had to provide another transmission to replace the one changed one month before. Last Monday, July 06, 2015, while driving on the new jersey garden state parkway, the vehicle presented serious trouble, when the emergency brake, awd and abs warning lights came on, as the vehicle lost speed, transmission disengaged, putting my wife, myself and other vehicles around us in serious risk of accident. I managed to pull the vehicle to the shoulder and later to a near by friend`s house in the galloway area. After contacting Nissan USA regarding the transmission, they told me to contact aamco, since they installed the new transmission. Aamco checked the vehicle and found out that, the problem was caused by the alternator that heated up, dropped voltage to 12v DC and caused the safe mode to engage, by making the vehicle unsafe on the middle of the highway. Nissan USA claims that this NHTSA campaign has been closed, when it is to my believe that, it should be re-opened and not only me, but also many other Nissan Murano owners, that still confront such factory defective issues to have this issue resolved. I was lucky to be able to act fast enough and bring my vehicle to safes way, would all others be so lucky?.
