Purchased this vehicle in 2012, used- bag an having issues immediately, including , no heat, stalling, windows rolling down on their own in winter- returned it to the dealer and they kept for 1 week, said there was nothing wrong except the fuel pump. We replaced it and trouble continued. Contacted Nissan and they said to take to dealer for diagnostic, a certified Nissan mechanic now looking it over and claims there is nothing wrong, we have thrown so much money into trying to get it to work. Overheats and can not climb even the smallest of incline without overheating, the Nissan company wants us yo pay for all the testing they require, we have been paying for a vehicle that is not drivable or reliable in any way- after 4 years there is still no answers as to why it will not run properly, so disappointing yo purchase a vehicle that looks good and is comfortable, and has become a lawn ornament that still has a large balance to pay- does Nissan produce things they walk away from laughing at the consumers for purchasing a non reputable vehicle. So aggravating to be told it is our problem, feel as though I could have gone to the junkyard and purchased a wrecked vehicle and had better results, we just want to be able to depend on a vehicle we purchased without the run around. Sounds like they made a problem car from the other comments on how others have experienced the same issues, without any answers. The unexpected stalling and overheating and no production of heat in the vehicle has been issue since purchasing in 2012 to now 2016, just would like some sort of answers.

While driving in traffic the engine on my 2003 Nissan muano stopped, thankfully I was able to manuever car to safety, another time waiting for train to cross approximately waiting 12 minutes in drive and idling, engine shut itself off, while driving 25 mph and making left hand turn car stalled again almost resulting in another vehicle to hit my vehicle- called Nissan and they said that the recalls have been completed for my vehicle I then asked Nissan is it dangerous for engine to quit while in motion she expressed that she was sorry for that to have happened- what if I were hit whose fault is it to be hit if your car has decided to not run at that moment?this same occurrance has happened over again and since I have had this vehicle it has had no heat- resulting as to being an expensive summer only vehicle really stinks has been nothing but trouble and no one helps- is at dealer right now and is saying cam sensor, how much will it cost me to fix something that hasnt been right since purchase of this Nissan 2003 Murano? I would like them to do what is right and fix the problem without the highway robbery crud!.
I was driving on the freeway at 8:30 pm when my vehicle began to lose power and stalling, it finally shut down completely in the fast lane. I frantically tried restart finally it did I was then only able to get the vehicle in the small space between the on ramp and the slow lane of freeway. The traffic was heavy and I almost git hit by a vehicle while attempting to get to to a safe place. Where the incident occurred the are concrete barriers due to the expansion work being done on highway 4 west bound. Pittsburg California. I bought the vehicle brand new on Feb 23, 2006, it has had numerous mechanical defects from day one. In the last 2 years I have spent over $3000. 00 for repairs and last month I brought to the dealer for these problems and they advised me that the vehicle had more repairs that it needed costing $2500. 00. I am at my wits end. I am not working on disability. On the following day the car did it again.
The car was driven on the high way at 50 mph, when it started to decelerate and would only go over a max speed of 30 mph. Even with acceleration, the car would not go over 30 mph. It was driven to the auto repair shop and they declared the transmission had failed and the engine was faulty as well. This car has given us so many problems. This is the third time it had stalled on the highway almost causing accidents and presenting a dangerous situation for my family! this problem needs to be corrected!!!!!!!!! something must be done!.

First incident: "slip", "vdc off", and "service engine soon" lights all came on simultaneously as car jerked/hesitated in hov lane of westbound I-66. Car remained running with "slip", "vdc off", and "service engine soon" lights remaining on the rest of the trip home. Second incident (01/30/2011): "service engine soon" light already on. As stop light turned green and began to accelerate from complete stop, "slip" and "vdc off" lights came on and car stalled in the road way. Was able to restart car with some difficulty in middle of the road and continued on. Third incident: "service engine soon" light already on. Car stalled turning into owner driveway, with "slip" and "vdc off" lights coming on. Was able to restart car with some difficulty and pull into driveway. Nissan dealer service department found code p0340: "b1 cam sensor failure". Fp-number: 23731-69j0b. Sensor assembly replaced 02/03/2011. 2nd code p1564: "replace cruise control".
I was driving to take my boss and 2 coworkers to lunch. I was on robins af base in the left hand exit lane. My car just all of a sudden lost power and stalled. . . No brakes. . . No power. . . All the lights on the front dashboard came on. I almost got hit in the rear by the car behind me because I was in a turn lane and my car just stopped in front of them. I was able to restart my car and turn around and immediately parked it and we had to walk a ways to get to another vehicle to drive. . . Then my husband came and drove the car to mechanic who lives up the street who hooked it up to the sensor thing. . . It is the cam shaft sensor. Now looking at the other complaints I am afraid that there is more that will occur. I can't really trust the dealership where I bought it because they tried on several occasions to charge for services not needed each at least $800. I paid $80 to have my tires balanced and they only balanced 3 of the 4! so many people have a problem with the cam sensor that Nissan really needs to do something for the vehicles not on the list. This is not right for all the customers who paid good money for a working vehicle in good condition. I still have to contact the dealer but I don't expect from the previous complaints they will be any help and I refuse to pay that kind of money for a default in the vehicle that they are aware of and refuse to recall! please make note that my 2003 Nissan Murano is among those with the cam sensor problem and not on the list. Something needs to be done about this if Nissan expects good reviews and repeat customers. . . If they don't well, I will go to every place I can post to and share my unsatisfied customer service story.
2003 Nissan Murano cam position sensor code. My car has stalled and cut out while driving. The reason is the cam position sensor. Nissan says that my VIN number isn't part of the recall. I say it should be. It a very dangerous situation when you lose power unexpectedly.
At approx. 60,000 miles this car began having problems stalling at intersections, highways, and inclines. Stopped on an incline I had to have 3 cars back up and move so my car could roll backwards down the hill and park for 30 minutes. I have been in the middle of intersections where I would depress the gas pedal and the car not move in on coming traffic. I have brought this to the attention of Nissan and the dealer I purchased the car with no resolution. It is obviously the cvt transmission slowly going bad. This has put me in dangerous situations many times and continues to be a serious problem. Nissan and the dealership are avoiding replacing the transmission. . Read more...
My 2003 Nissan Murano has been stalling with no warning lights beforehand. Last week, the Nissan dealer told me that I needed a new battery which cost me $189. This week, my Murano is still stalling. Now, they told me that I need a new air flow meter and spark plugs which will cost me $821. 64. That's more than $1,000 in two weeks on a car that's 6 years old with 80,000 miles! not to mention that the transmission had to be replaced at around $60,000. . . And numerous other repairs. Nissan is a company that does not stand behind its product. . . . And I'm absolutely fed up with it.
I have had to tow my vehicle 2003 Nissan Murano 3-4 times via acsc automobile club of southern calif and physically took it to the same company twice. Paid over $2900. 00 out of my pocket in which I am disabled permanently due to heart disease and collect social security, and at one of my stales in the middle of laural canyon and roscoe blvd when I am not even allowed to pick up things under 5 pounds no pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending avoid wetness, fumes, gases, heights, humidity, dust you get the picture I am only 40 and I have the heart of an 75 yr old women anyways I hade to push my car all by myself for over 50 ft before someone helped me god was definetely watching over me!!!! now lets gt down to business like I said earlier I took my Murano to the same dealership they never could find out what was wrong I kept telling them about the car problem they never took me seriously. Av Nissan was the same stupid dealership charged me thousands and finally now the recall. I want my money back not all but they let me drive off never fixed the same complaint. As I described earlier about the stall in the intersection I have broken down 4 or 5 times and it was very phyisically hard on my whole body let alone my heart and that was just wrong!!!!!!.
When the car first started acting up I was on the interstate on my way to work. It all of a sudded started stalling. I had to press the driving peddal all the way down and then it would take off with a very hard jolt. This would happen off and on especially if I was in stop and go traffic or came to a stop sign or stop light. The car would stall before taking off. I took it to the delearship and they kept it for three days and said they could find nothing. This is when the transmission was under warranty up to 120,000 miles. They said the car would have to do it while in ther shop or they could do nothing. I just found it so hard to believe that the car showed no signes of doing anything that I described while they had it and drove it for three days. Well of course I got the car back and it was still doing the same thing. I took it back to them and they told me that it was the transmission and the repair on it alone was going to cost me 3600. 00 all by itself. The car was doing the very same thing when I took it in to them the first time but surprisingly after the warranty was off they all of a sudden found the problem. Somebody really needs to look into all of these complaints and get these situations under warranty so that these cars can be fixed properly. Its not fair to take the car to the dealership about a problem that could have been fixed under warranty to take it back to them for the exact same thing and they tell you that the repair is no longer under warranty and you now have to pay for it.

I have a 2003 Murano, that continues to have persistent problems with failing camshaft sensors. There is a specific recall that covers camshaft and crankshaft sensor design issues in the 2003 Murano, but Nissan has refused to cover the work, since my VIN doesn't fall within the recall range. I have even talked to the vp of east cost customer service, who told me to report the problem to the appropriate governmental agency. We have experienced all the problems that are described in the recall multiple different times over the last year. These are :"service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash. " it also includes the car stalling at 45 mph for my wife on a dangerous winding road. For a small women without power steering or power brakes, this situation was extremely dangerous. Both camshaft sensors have been replaced already, and one of them is failing again for the third time. I have already spent $500, and it will cost at least that much to pay for the changes that Nissan requires under the recall to really fix the Nissan design flaw. The main problem is that Nissan refuses to fix the problem, even though it is obvious that I have the exact same problems as the recall.
The contact owns a 2003 Nissan Murano. While driving various speeds or making a turn, the vehicle would suddenly stall for several seconds and then accelerate. The failure was very inconsistent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, but the failure still persists. The current mileage was 100,000 and failure mileage was 50,000.
While driving at 45 mph and without any warning vehicle stalled/ lost power. Consumer had to struggle to get the vehicle to the shoulder. Then, consumer called the dealer, who advised him to call the manufacturer.
