Warnings Problems of Nissan Murano

The forward looking sonar sensor turns off after the first 2 miles, which in turn deactivates the adaptive cruise control and the automatic emergency braking system. I have learned that this is a widespread problem on many Nissans, including the rogue and Murano. The dealership said it was recalled on the rogue, but not on the Murano, so it would cost thousands to replace.

Forward collision warning light comes on and off while driving. When the light comes on the cruise control will not work and when the light goes off I need to reset the cruise control. This started about two months ago.

When driving vehicle into sunlight a system warning light displays saying “ driving aids temporarily disabled, poor visibility. This warning has displayed during all day parts and occurs immediately when the sun is directed at the front of the car. Have had the car at the dealership and showed them pictures of warning light. Dealer noted car did not exhibit customers concern at this time. I do not know if they drove car with sun on front of car. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs and they opened a case per my concern, (# 56110400) resolution is that Nissan considers this warning light coming on to be “ normal operations”, therefore there is nothing more to do. They said that the front camera is sensitive to the sunlight. I am to drive around with the warning light coming on. I inquired with Nissan about what specific “ driving aids” are limited during this time. They could not answer my question. I am concerned that under these driving conditions, which I consider normal and common, I do not have total use of all the safety features included with the car, creating a potential dangerous situation for me. Don’t understand why they have used a camera in this area of the car that is that sensitive to light.

My wife had bought a new 2025 Nissan Murano two days earlier for our 28th wedding anniversary. We were rear-ended at a high rate of speed and pushed into a parking lot and went through a chain link fence and hit 3 parked cars. The front end was also at a high rate of speed. My wife hit her head on the dash with no dash airbag deployment and my steering wheel airbag did not deploy. This caused my wife and I to have broken backs I had l2 fracture and immediate fusion with titanium pins and rods. Wife had l1 fracture front and back. I was airlifted to trauma center and my wife air was not there and they took her by ambulance to trauma center. This is a defect from factory that needs a recall and don't sell this 2025 Nissan Murano until recall has fixed the issue.

I was driving about 20 miles an hour no cars infront of me and none behind me, then all of a sudden, the forward collision warning went on flashing red on my dash and my car was automatically braking for no reason. Yes, its available for inspection, my safety was put at risk if there was another car behind, they could have wrecked into me. I have not taken my car to the dealership. There were no other warning lights on prior to the failure.

The fcw turns off within 10 miles of driving. The fcw light clears up if the vehicle is shut off and restarted. However fcw warning comes back up and the fcw system is disabled.

Car shut off while driving 60 miles per hour on the hwy. Battery light was on but I just had it checked and it was good. Seat belt light was also on but I had mine on and there were no other passengers. The collision light has repeatedly come on and off since I bought the vehicle new.

I've only had the car 3 months and an error code for the forward collision worning light is on. The dealership said it should go off. It never did. It is malfunctioning and it automatically and without notice applied the emergency brake system when it's not needed. It gave me sort of whiplash. It does this often out of no where. This could cause a severe accident.

The crash sensor light keeps engaging while driving, even when the vehicle is parked or idle. There is nothing in site to indicate a crash. Vehicle was taken to dealer on 5 or more occasions and finally it was replaced in December 2024 after Nissan corp. Got involved. The vehicle engaged the brakes while driving on the highway when nothing was present to indicate danger. This was mentioned to Nissan and the dealer (autonation) on my last visit in January 25 and the dealer stated they could not reproduce the issue, although the problem still exist, I was told by the dealer that it's normal. Nissan corp mentioned a senior mechanic will investigate, but was never sent to dealer. Instead, I emailed video of it happening to customer affairs at Nissan. The senior mechanic (Nissan corp) and the mechanic at the dealer provided reasons like a piece of lint could be on the lenses (not while driving 55mph), could be sunlight blocking the sensor (what about at night), or the lenses could be dirty (maybe but not really). This seem to be a danger when driving and all of a sudden your brakes are engaged automatically while driving and the only reason given was possibly lint. The only recourse from the dealer was my option was to return vehicle (lemon law) and purchase another one. I'm retired and not in the position to start all over in acquiring a note. This vehicle was still under warranty (with less 25k miles) when this was first reported, why are customers responsible for any fees? I am afraid to drive most occasions and would like to know if anyone else has reported this (also asked Nissan - sure they're not going to be truthful)? will someone please investigate this matter and let me know my options? have videos showing crash sensor engaging but the files are too large to upload. This car has had electrical issues from 2016 it's all in the carfax and it's caused me 2 accidents in less than 6 months and 1st was the car wouldn't stop like it's supposed to and it seemed like the assisted braking sometimes would kick in and out. . . Then 2nd one air bag deployed with airbag turned off.

While parallel parking, we backed into the space and when we put the car into drive, it lurched forward at an incredible speed. We hit and pushed the car parked in front of us, hopped up onto the sidewalk, knocked down a street light, and moved a huge concrete planter. The airbags over the windshield and under the dashboard deployed. The bags under the dash exploded with such force that they injured my husband's legs, and he has been seeing a wound doctor for the past five weeks. The car was towed to a repair shop. I reported the incident to Nissan na; they sent a representative to retrieve information from the edr. Nissan has advised that no mechanical problems were recorded but we are absolutely certain the car malfunctioned. We think it might have been a problem with the cvt.

Purchased the car 8/2019. 2/3 times per year, and always in a parking garage, the forward collision warning is triggered for no reason and the car slams on the breaks automatically. It's dangerous and jarring. Everytime it has happened there have been 0 cars around me, and no reason for it to happen. This needs to be fixed.

Purchased demo Murano in August 2019 with 4500 miles. Took it back to dealership in January 2021 after the orange forward emergency braking warning light appeared on dash. They said it was not covered under warranty. September 2021 at 18000 miles the waring light and the 'malfunction warning' text both displayed without driver input. Normal driving condition and no vehicle in front of me to hint potential collision so there is no reason to alert driver.

I purchased a 2018 Nissan Murano in may 2019 with 16k miles on it, at 30,000 miles I started noticing an issue with it not coasting into turns, it would almost come to a complete stop, and nearly cause accidents to unsuspecting drivers behind me. I took it to kerry Nissan in florence and the tech acted like I was imagining things, since they couldn't get it to repeat the action. It's happened off and on since then, and based off the techs reaction, thought nothing of it. About a week ago it began happening more often, like on every turn, and I started getting worried that I was going to cause an accident, so I took it back it to kerry, it was at 62,000 miles. They called me on Monday 4/25 and said my transmission was bad, the diagnostic came back with an error code, cvt judder. They told me I had to call consumer affairs because the powertrain warranty expired at 60k miles. Consumer affairs said they would agree to pay 50% of the repair, even though the car had been in the shop for the same exact issue at 30k miles!!! again, repeating that the warranty expired at 60k miles. . . . 2k miles earlier!!! I googled the issue and it appears to be a huge issue with cvt transmissions, Nissan knows it, they know it's dangerous, but won't do anything about it. They've been involved in several class action law suits over the same thing, but not newer models. I was quoted $4200 for the repair, which is just crazy to me, on a car that is 3 years old!!!! I thought Nissan had a good reputation when I spent $30,000 on my car, not knowing there was such a huge issue where their entire lineup of cars. They are crooks, and I don't understand how they continue to get away with this. This is a also a huge safety issue! transmissions are failing while people are driving on the interstate, the car just stops. There are a ton of complaints, and there needs to be a recall on cvt transmissions!.

Traction control and forward collision detection trouble light comes on at random intervals. Reported multiple times to Nissan dealer and Nissan consumer affairs. Has been in the shop a total of 18 days during 4 occurrences. Nissan corporate will not heed the dealers advice to replace abs system. This safety issue is still unresolved and the vehicle is still in a service bay awaiting Nissan corporate direction.

The forward collision stops working after driving the car only a couple of miles. . . Have taken to the dealer and they said it was because of low voltage from the battery. . . Replaced the battery and the problem still has happened. . It only resets after the car has been turned off and back on again but the indicator light comes on again after driving a couple miles again.

On multiple times, in clear weather with no cars in front of me, driving at 40 mph the aeb warning light comes on. Have taken it to the dealer multiple times for diagnosis and repair with no resolution. The first time, the dealer recalibrated the system, and on the second time in for repair, the dealer said no codes were input into the on board computer, so nothing could be done despite my cell phone video showing the incidents occurring.

I was driving 25 mph when the car automatic stopped and applied the automatic emergency brake (aeb) was applied with no obstacles around on a clear sunny day. Purchased the car new with only 3 miles on it. Car came to a complete stop. I am afraid for my safety. Took the car in to dealer and was told nothing is wrong with the car within 1 week it happend again and I was told by the dealer there's nothing wrong with the car.

Unavailable front radar obstruction light comes on and stays on after driving. Problem occurs every time I drive more than a short distance. Light is never on when I start the car.

The problem with this vehicle is that the aeb warning light keeps coming on and then randomly going off on the dash while I'm driving, and I feel unsafe in this vehicle not knowing whether the aeb and front end/rear end crash avoidance systems are working or are not working. � I took the vehicle into my local dealer, michael jordan Nissan in durham, nc, on Monday November 16, 2020, to find out what was wrong. � the aeb indicator light was not on when I drove in. � the dealer's service department could not ascertain if anything was wrong or not, or why the light was coming on and going off, or provide me with options. � as I left the dealership to go to a doctor's appointment, the aeb warning light went on--I could not return to the dealership, where I had been for almost 3 hours, because of my doctor's appointment. I feel unsafe in this vehicle as I never know if the aeb system is or is not working.
