When driving the vehicle it stalls when pressing the gas to accelerate. When at a stop or turning when switching from braking to accelerating you have to press the gas several times to get the car to accelerate. Nissan consumer affairs will not assist and the dealership cannot replicate. I dont know what to do.
While driving on September 219th, 2016, the airbag indicator light started flashing for under a minute, and then the entire dashboard cluster panel went out. The tachometer, speedometer, gas gauge, driver safety information, lighting and breaks , gear mode, seat belt indicator, engine temperature gauge all went blank as the car was driving straight down a street approximately 45 miles an hour. I pulled the car off of the road to a safe place. Shut it down, and started it again normally. The entire instrument panel has yet to come back on. I was able to get the SUV home, and called some local dealerships to get it in to service. While waiting for a call back, I was able to research, and found that the vehicle is under two recalls, 16v-244 for occs system, and 16v-380 for stop lamp switch. . I was able to get the car to royal Nissan in baton rouge, louisiana (225) 924-0400 on the 20th of September, 2016. I informed them of the recalls, and they said that they would look into the mater. On the September 21th, service advisor (kenney) called me and said that they did not yet know how to fix the problem, but the car was three years old, and out of warranty and I would have to pay for the repairs myself because they were probably not related to the recalls. That is where it stands. As of September 21st, 2016. I do not think that I am being unreasonable when I think that there is a connection to the flashing indicator lights, and the dashboard going out at the same time.
I was notified of a recall for the brakes top lamp switch & passenger air bag detection. I took my truck into the dealership & was notified there was nothing they could do because Nissan had not given them the necessary parts to fix the defects. So what happens if I have an accident as a result of this defect?.
Indicator light for passenger front air bag intermittently would say that it is off when my wife (141 lbs. ) sits in the seat. When we went to curry Nissan, 765 memorial drive, chicopee, MA 01020, the dealer we were told there was no assigned weight for the sensor and she should eat more for lunch to gain some weight. We went round and round for the next few months until they said there was a fix which they did but the problem was still there. Then we were told to wait a few weeks and the would have more information on the situation. When I went back they put a weight on the front seat and said the switch was working fine. A few days later when my wife got in the vehicle again the light indicated that the air bag was off. After a little over 2 years of always being afraid that if we ever have a crash where the front air bag should deploy and does not we would not be happy with the end results of having this defect in the vehicle. Today we saw a report on complaints filed by others about this same issue and wanted to put our information into the complaint.
The sensor for the front passenger airbag does not work. The airbags are automatically turned off even when there is a full grown adult in the front seat. Also, during routine operation of the vehicle when no one is sitting in the front passenger seat, the airbag indicator may switch to "on. " in the event of an accident, an adult front seat passenger will not have the protection of the front airbag due to a faulty sensor. The local dealership is claiming that there is no recall on the airbag sensor--even though there are news articles to the contrary. Nissan customer service says there is no recall under my VIN--even though other 2013 Pathfinders are the subject of a recall. (in fact, I accessed this site from a news article discussing the problem and the recall. ) and, both the dealership and Nissan are claiming that the defect may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. At present, the car has less than two thousand five hundred (2500) miles.
