Through internet search some 2013-2017 Nissan Pathfinders passenger airbags have a recall issued. After contacting Nissan motor corp. It was explained recalls are VIN specific. I requested an explanation of the process Nissan uses to determine what VIN apply, what department would be able to explain, why would the dealer need to answer the why and how's Nissan determines what VIN apply. The Nissan rep in short explained, he didn't have any answers. The dealer that sold me the vehicle has exceptional service. This matter should in no way reflect on the dealer. Nissan as a three step repair plan for the passenger side airbag if the VIN wasn't listed on the recall. It is my understanding the repair can cost up to $2500. 00-$3000. 00. It appears the airbag issue must have been missed on my VIN. Based on Nissan passenger side airbag repair bulletin it can take up to 3 trips with the cost increasing each time. In my opinion, if some 2013-2017 Pathfinder passenger airbags are recalled there must be an issue. With that said, anyone who's VIN wasn't originally listed should be able to have the passenger side airbag repaired under the recall.
My passenger side airbag remains off even when a passenger is present. However, there is no recall for the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. I took it to the dealer but because there is no information in the system for my VIN, they were reluctant to help. Because my warranty is expired, its not covered.
Dealer has failed to repair the passenger side air bag after 3. 5 years of ownership. The latest recall notice when brought to the dealer again did not result in a repair only more delay as they claimed the part now had to be ordered. However the notice indicated parts were now available.
While turning at a stops sign on a city street, going approximately 5 mph, I hit a shallow pothole & my entire passenger side airbags deployed. The airbag hit my 8 year old daughter in the face who was sitting in the back passenger seat. This caused her to have swelling, redness & whelps to the right side of her face & neck. I submitted a claim to Nissan to which they determined that they were not liable for the damages caused by the airbags to the interior of my vehicle.
2013 Nissan Pathfinder. Vehicle has repeated problems of the passenger side air bag. The consumer stated in June 2014, he received a received recall notice r1405 to reprogram the software. The reprogramming was complete, but did not resolve the problem so he had to return the vehicle to the dealer for another reprogram, but to no avail. On December 1, 2014, the consumer returned to the dealer so they could replace the seat sensors to eliminate the problem which did not fix the issue. The dealer claimed it might be a controller that needed to be replaced. The dealer advised the consumer not to drive the vehicle, until the issue was resolved.
We noticed early after purchase of our 2013 Nissan Pathfinder that the passenger side air bag disable light would come on whether or not there was someone sitting in that seat. Brought to dealership and not much help. Reprogram and the same issue appeared in just a few days. Months later Nissan issued a recall for programming. This still did not change the problem. Dealership replaced the entire seat at no cost to myself. Light still comes on when someone is sitting in seat at random times or no one is the seat. Someone is going to get hurt without the airbag deploying correctly. And how do we know it is actually going to work?.
Problem 1: we bought the vehicle new in July. After about two weeks the car begin to shudder between 15-20 mph. It feels like we are driving over rumble strips. We took the car to the Nissan dealer where we purchased it. They said there was a campaign for the problem and would order a torque converter. We were told it was on back order. After two and half weeks the part was installed. The day we picked up the car it still had the same issues. We have notified the dealership of the continuing problem. Problem 2: the front passenger side airbag goes on and off randomly, turning off the airbag. We told the dealership when we brought it in for the shuddering. They said it was a weight limit issue and the way we sit. We told them it does it for our son who weighs 90 pounds and that we sit the same way every time. We also told them it does it for me off and on in the same day and that our weight doesn't fluctuate that much in the same day. We were told it tested fine, so it will not need repair. Just this morning I got in the passenger side the light was off, we went into a store and when I got back in the car the light was on. I have told the dealership about this again today.
The passenger side airbag on my vehicle keeps showing as off when there is an adult in the seat that is over 120 pounds. The dealer has performed the air bag recall on this vehicle and it does not seem to have helped.
