Brought our 2013 Nissan Pathfinder to naples Nissan because of a flashing airbag warning light and a warning light that passenger airbag was not working . Dealer fixed other recalls and charged us $179 to tell us we needed 2 new OCS sensors for $1050. We provided copy of OCS sensor recall for 2013 Pathfinder (pc216 13v -069. Nyb13-035a) which states dealer is responsible to remove OCS sensors and check the lot codes for campaign eligibility . Dealer has ignored the request and simply repeated that the all outstanding recalls have been taken care of and we would need to pay $1050 to repair this important safety problem . Please help us ?.
The front passenger air bag turned off when an adult or teen sits in the seat. The air bag has remained turned off. The warning light also started to flash periodically and now continuously flashes.
Hi, in 2018, Nissan replaced the passenger occupancy module as part of a recall. That module has now gone bad again (~5 years), and Nissan is charging its customers to replace. Maybe we are unlucky, but wondering if the repair with a faulty part is a pattern that is introducing risk and unnecessary cost to customers. Hoping the NHTSA can review data to determine whether this is a pattern or one-off. Thank you.
While pushing the auto button to slid the passenger front seat to vacuum the floor carpet the airbag sensor broke off. This made the airbag system to be non operational on the front passerenger seat putting any passenger in danger with no airbags. Poor design of such an important safety system that just sliding the seat would break such an important part!.
Passenger side airbag does not show as engage due to a faulty (OCS) sensor per inspection by Nissan dealership names #1 cochran. This is a known problem covered under Nissan's recall pc216. This recall was performed on the vehicle in 2017. The sensor is faulty again. The fix that Nissan proposed is not a long term correction of the problem. Obviously, if the vehicle is involved in an accident with my wife in the passenger seat the airbag would not work due to a faulty sensor that registers no one being present in the passenger seat.
Passenger airbag sensor indicates seat is empty even though someone is sitting in it. Have not had it checked yet. Going this week.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. He also stated that the OCS sensor failed to recognize an occupant seated in the passenger’s side seat, which would cause the air bag to become inoperable. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 15v681000 (air bags) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 149,989.
I recently purchased a 2013 Pathfinder with 71,000 miles. My 2013 Pathfinder has a faulty OCS. The red airbag light is illuminated on the dashboard that will not go off. It also has the passenger airbag light illuminated whether a person is sitting in the passenger seat or not. This light does not go off when an adult is sitting in the seat. There is a recall on 2013 Pathfinders for this problem but my VIN is not showing a recall for this problem even though it has the same issue.
Passenger side airbag light is always on (passenger or not) indicating that the passenger side airbag is off. Also, when there is no passenger in the seat, the red airbag light flashes. However, when there is a passenger in the seat, the red airbag light is not on.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the front passenger’s side air bag and the "solid air bag #2" warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the air bag sensor to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 13v069000 (air bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000.
The air bag light indicating that the passenger air bag is disabled does not go off when someone sits in the passenger seat. This matches NHTSA campaign number 15v681000 from October 20, 2015 with the description air bag may not detect passenger in seat. However, Nissan says that my VIN is not part of the recall. This makes no sense to me since my vehicle has this issue. I do not know exactly when this started as I don't often carry passengers. The date I put in was around the last time I took this vehicle in for what I believe was to address a recall issue. I'm also concerned that my vehicle could have the issue from April 26, 2016, NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000, passenger air bag may not deploy due to OCS error.
The front seat OCS is not registering the seat as being occupied.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v344000 (air bags). The part to do the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Parts distribution disconnect.
I had my vehicle to the dealer multiple times for the passenger air bag showing airbag off when I am sitting in the vehicle with the vehicle in motion. Every time I mentioned the problem I was given an excuse as to why it is happening. The way I sit andthe vehicle has to be shut off and on again to correct the problem are excuses given. When the recall was announced I figured the problem would finally be fixed. I was wrong, the problem has become 100 times worse. I brought my vehicle in and a reprogram was performed. Now everytime I get out of the vehicle the light will illuminate saying airbag off and when I sit in the seat and the driver starts to drive it will stay illuminated for about 20-25 minutes at any speed from local to highway. This is extremely dangerous and needs to be looked into for a permanent fix.

The vehicle was purchased in may 2015. The vehicle had 54k miles. Within 45 days of purchase noticed that while pulling into traffic the vehicle would hesitate. This was also noticed when beginning from a complete stop. Took the vehicle into liberty GMC in peoria, az where it was purchased. Was told that it was sent to Nissan and they did some reprogramming. Got the car back and it continued the same issues. Took back a week later and supposedly they put a new transmission on the vehicle. Well here we are 1 year later and the same issues are happening again. This time with the added bonus of a clunk when you hit the accelerator. Will be taking in again next week. Second issue is with my wife ( who is 8 months pregnant) sitting in front passenger seat the light saying airbag is off stays on. Nissan seems to not be taking some of these issues very seriously.
Passenger airbag monitor light stays on with an adult sitting in the passenger seat. This happens often.
Occupant classification system is incorrectly saying that the passenger seat is empty, when in fact occupied by an adult. Nissan is saying that based on my VIN# my vehicle is not part of the current recall for this same problem. This may lead to serious injury and/or death of a passenger if involved in an accident.
I continue to get intermittent warning lite about passenger air bag not activated when there is an adult in the passenger seat. The car has had the recall for this performed already however it still persists regardless of car motion.
Nhtsa recall 16v244 I keep receiving notices about the recall, but my dealership (mossy Nissan, 14100 poway road, poway, CA. ) still doesn't have part needed to do the job. Please expedite part and help me get this job completed!!!!!!.
My passenger airbag turns off even when a full size adult of the proper weight is in the front seat. I received a recall notice for this on June 1st 2016. I have continued to try to schedule service for this recall, however, the dealer has notified me that Nissan has still not made the part available to them to fix this issue.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v069000 (air bags) and repaired. A year later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer who reset the code; however, the air bag warning lamp came back on indicating that the air bag was off while a passenger was in the seat. The vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer for further inspection and diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v138000 (air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
We first got a recall notice, and took the vehicle to the dealership. I asked them that other than the recall I needed them to see why the brakes on the vehicle squeak on occasions. They said everything was good and that the brakes didn't have anything. When my wife got in a vehicle collision a couple of days ago she had my 2 dauthers 3 and 4 with her. The airbags in our vehicle didn't deploy and the other vehicles did. My wife was going 15 mph but the other vehicle was going about 65 mph. Thanks to god nobody in the vehicle got severely hurt other than scratches and bruses. The vehicle was not totaled and will be repaired, I am really concern for my family's safety driving this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact received a notice for recall NHTSA campaign number 14v138000 (air bag). However, the recall has exceeded the reasonable time. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer had been notified of the problem.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that when the front passenger side seat was occupied, the air bag failed to activate. The failure occurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on three occasions where it was repaired, but the failure persisted. The repairs were unknown. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000.
The passenger airbag does not activate and remains "off" consistently when there is a passenger sitting in the passenger seat. Recall work was performed on the occupant classification system, and five vists later the problem still persists.
I purchased my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, less than 6 months ago. We currently have 7100 miles on it. We have not even had our 2nd oil change and I have already had it in the shop 4 times and I have to take it in today for the same issue, dealing with the transmission. At roughly 1000 miles, we took it back to the dealership in knoxville TN due to a studdering when coming to a stop, putting the car in park and when taking off from a stop. We was told this was due to the new transmission in the 2013 and the car was trying to get in the best gear for the most efficient gas mileage. Came time for our 1st oil change at 3500 and we told them to check the studder again and was told that it was due to the transmission, but the computer would correct itself. We took the car back to the dealer at the beginning of sept and was given a rental for 2 days and was told the problem was due to the torque converter and they would replace the part. They also said the fixed the airbag recall at this appointment. After 2 days the part came in and the vehicle was returned in 4 days after the repair. On 9/26/13 the vehicle was still studdering when I came to a red light on a hill. The light turned green and I pressed the gas pedal and the car did not move, but the engine rpm moved. Then the car kicked into gear and moved. I came to another hill and the vehicle was barely able to make it up the hill. I called the dealer and they told me to bring it in on today, 9/27/13 to have it checked again. I am worried about the safety of my family due to these problems in the transmission.
Purchased a new 2013 Pathfinder in November of 2012. We experienced the problem reported per the air bag recall. We had the recall performed. Subsequent to the recall repairs, we have on multiple occasions had the airbag off light illuminate with an adult in the passenger seat. The problem is intermittent. We took the vehicle to a dealer. He was unable to duplicate the problem and unwilling to pursue a repair. He called Nissan tech support and printed information to instruct us on how the system operates and on how to sit correctly in the seat. We have driven for many years and are aware of how seats work. We called Nissan to escalate the issue. Clearly, based on our experience and the multiple complaints on the NHTSA site, Nissan has failed to address this safety issue.
I was driving the car about 20 to 25 mph but when I tried to brake the brake did not stopped the car and there was an accident my self and my girl friend got injured and we had to go for crayaprator for long time this car is not safe at all north american Nissan is not willing to work with me nor the abc Nissan where I bought the car. Bad customer service.
