On December 5, 2022, I was driving on the 134w fwy around 6:40 am. I was driving around 60 mph in the fast lane when all of a sudden my hood popped open. I was unable to see in front of my car as the hood was completely up and blocking my windshield. I slowed down and crouched down to see in the sliver of space between the windshield and the top (now located at the bottom due to it being open) of the hood. There was no left shoulder so my only recourse was to make my way to an exit as the section of the fwy I was on was around a merge of another fwy onto the one that I was currently on and there was no safe place to pull my car over to close the hood and unblock my view. Since it was early in the morning, the traffic was light but if there had been more traffic, then I would have slammed into a car in front of me and or someone would have slammed into me as I slowed down due to the surprise of the hood popping open, unexpectedly, and blocking my view. I called my insurance and sent video and pictures and they said to take it to the dealership. They also stated that because of a recall, the dealer should be fixing this hood latch issue. There was no warning to the hood latch failure as I've been driving this car for 8 years and this just happened unexpectedly. The local dealership of this car manufacturer said they oiled and cleaned the latch when we took it in to fix, as per our insurance's advice, but this car is not safe to drive as we are unsure when and if the hood will pop open again. When we called the Nissan consumer affairs department, the person my husband spoke to stated that we were never notified of this recall.

2019 Nissan Pathfinder sv 4x4 was purchased April 30, 2022- I've noticed that the hood moves, vibrates, flutters almost aggrssively while drivng on local streets and the hwy. It's as if the hood was made of paper or flimsy material and wants to fly off it's hinges. At times I'm fixated on it, although my attention should be on the road and watching for other drivers. The hood makes me nervous as if an accident is inevitible. I haven't taken it to be checked as of yet, but something needs to be done about this if others are experiencing this exact issue.

During rainy days, we get water in the car through the roof mounting. I was told at the dealership that it's from the manufactory I need a new roof mounting kit.
While my wife was driving down the street, about 25 mph, the hood suddenly popped open, hitting the windshield, and twisting and tearing the metal on both fender panels. It was terrifying. What if it had happened on the highway?.
On 3 separate occasions 3 separate door handles have failed to work from the inside of the vehicle. We had to replace the front passenger side door handle twice and the rear left side once and now the rear right side door handle has stopped working. No warnings whatsoever ever they just stop latching and we are unable to exit the vehicle which is very unsafe. We took it to the Nissan dealership in carson city nevada where we paid to get it replaced on 03/07/2022.

My 2014 Pathfinder has had all 4 door handles break just randomly causing us to be stuck in the vehicle without being able to get out unless we roll down the windows. Nissan fixed the passenger front door but would not fix the 2 back one's. Then the other day with temperatures inside the car in the 90s both front doors broke and the car would not start for us to get the windows down. We were locked in the car for almost 15 minutes before someone saw us and came over and let us out. We could of all died inside from the heat and had absolutely no way to get out of the vehicle. I took it to 3 mechanics but they all say Nissan is the only one with the part to remove the door panels to fix it. Nissan knows they are broken and wants to charge over $1,000 to fix them. There was no notice no warning just as you try to open the door the handle snaps and just sticks out and cannot open. I have been reading up on complaints and this is very dangerous the amount out there on this same issue. It appears Nissan is very aware of it and does nothing, people can die if they cannot get out of a car during an accident or high temperatures. It is available for inspection.
Rear mount of front passenger control arm cracked where mounts to frame. Very little metal left where bolts hold bracket to body.

The passenger side tailgate strut failed. When the tailgate was open, the point where the struct connects to the lower bracket snapped, causing the tailgate to fall on, and injur the person below. I see that there is a recall on Nissan rouges for "rusting tailgate struts" that seems to be the same problem, but none issued for Pathfinders. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealer for this issue or otherwise inspected. No warning lamps were present before, or after this occurred.
Inside passengers front door handle broke making it impossible to open the passengers front door from inside the vehicle.
While driving on a city street at ~ 30mph, the hood flew open bending both the front driver and passenger fenders and mangling the seals. The force at which the hood opened nearly broke the windshield and did not allow for the driver to see out of any part of the window requiring an immediate stop. There was no indication on the dashboard that the hood was ajar. In doing some research, there is a recall on the same year/make/model but none associated with this VIN. While the driver and no other vehicles were involved in the accident, this issue had the potential to injury or kill someone if this had happened on the highway or on a busier road.
Secondary hood latch did not prevent hood from opening. Hood opened at approximately 30 mph on a residential street. Resulted in damaging struts and body as well as a dangerous impact to visibility. Did a generic internet search and I found recall pc343, NHTSA database shows no recalls open, neither did Nissan website.
Nissan is claiming that NHTSA campaign number: 11v244000 was already addressed on my vehicle. I took my car into the dealership several years ago for a recall but they never fixed this recall because they were too busy. When I call Nissan right now they are claiming it was fixed already. This was never fixed and my vehicle is exhibiting the exact issues outlined in the recall. My VIN# jn8dr09y33w822782. I am requesting Nissan to fix this issue per the recall.

We were driving on a highway at 70 mph when the hood opened up and hit the windshield. The safety latch did not engage. It bent up the hood, cracked the windshield and dented the roof. The hood was down and latched when we left. I know Nissan had recalls for 2013 and 14. I called Nissan but have not had a response as of this writting.

This happened to me yesterday 09/07/2020 on my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. I was driving about 45 miles an hour on a rural empty road when the sunroof made a pop sound and exploded. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a large sheet of glass hit the road and disintegrate. When I opened the cover for the sunroof most of the glass was gone. The pieces around the frame that remained were shattered. Does anyone know how to join a class action lawsuit?.
While driving down a road, the hood flew up and hit the windshield. I could not see in front of me at all. The hood ripped through the fenders by the windshield. I was driving approx. 35 miles per hour at the time this happened.
Driver side visor keep falling down while driving.
I have found out there is a recall for Pathfinder 13-16 models about the hood latch, and that the hood might fly open at certain speeds. I have a 2019 Pathfinder and since day 1 of the owner ship I ha e noticed that on a highway at high speed the hood is catching allot of air where the hood is literally flattering so to say. At one point I have mentioned it to my local nissa dealer which they checked and said the latch looks ok. It is still doing the same thing till this day. Now that I saw the recal for 2013-2016 models I wonder if newer models like mine are affected as well with that problem.
Within the last year+ both front windows have fallen apart inside of the door and stopped working. Both times just as I hit the button to power down the window. It gets 1-2 inches and you hear everything except the glass clatter to the bottom of the door. Passenger side window never used; maybe has been opened 15-20 times. All started over 60k miles. Nothing covered by manufacturer. Had to pay extended warranty deductible. It is obviously a defect in design or material. Both times the car was stationary. Drivers side at drive thru for coffee. Passenger side sitting in parking space. This car is super pampered, garage kept and clean, no kids, no passengers, back and forth to work, 95% on 4 or 6 lane highway.
Since I purchased my Pathfinder, I have had numerous close calls in almost having an accident due to the mirrors and the side panels inside by the mirrors, I cannot see if another vehicle is coming or if I'm at a 4 way stop I can not see if there is a car on either side of me at the stop. It's very dangerous. I thought I was the only one having this issue, but I just saw a forum about it online. I just don't want to be in an accident and harm myself or anyone else.

I called smithtown Nissan they said they have recalls for this but my VIN# car is not affected I read the recall notice r1107 it states im high salt areas and new york is one of them for this type of problem . The manufacturer should be liable.

Our renter states that the vehicle was great up until the incident. States that they filled the vehicle up with gas around 4pm before parking it just out in front of where they were staying. At 1am they were awoken by a disturbance outside and someone banging on their door telling them they needed to come outside - when he arrived he noticed the vehicle completely engulfed in flames. The fire department arrived but it took almost an hour, per renter, to put out the flames as the vehicle kept leaking gasoline. Apparently there is a witness to the beginning of the fire from a rita rans (504-319-3299) who heard the vehicle's horn and observed no one in the vehicle and then there was an "explosion" as it caught fire (potential alarm?) the fire report confirms that our rental vehicle caught fire. They indicate that the fire was "mechanical malfunction" and "unintentional. " the vehicle was parked and unoccupied at the time of combustion. *** please contact the adjuster we hired to assist us with this matter. His name is andrew desrosiers with sedgwick claims management services. Phone: 216-520-7648. Email: andrew. Desrosiers@sedgwick. Com. Thank you.
Engine hood vibrates at speed at above 55 mph. I can see it moves up and down from driver seat.

My sunroof glass just shattered out of nowhere while I was driving on the expressway!!!.
Traveling I-80 from york, ne to Lincoln, ne, on June 3, 2019, 11:47 a. M. , approx. 2 miles west of hwy 15 exit, we hear a loud explosion and thought a tire or something hit our Pathfinder. Lucky no other vehicles were around us and the weather was hot with clear skys. I pulled into a divided portion of the interstate and inspected the car and found everything ok. Started down the road again and we heard pieces of something rolling off our roof. I inspected the rear sunroof, found it ok and then started pulling back the front cover of the sunroof and realized the glass has shattered. I immediately call our salesman at Nissan to report the damage and to see if it was covered under warranty. He said it would have to be looked at and we could have a loaner to use in the mean time.

Rear lift gate door jams and the motorized function will not open or close the door. The door cannot be opened with the key or the switch on the dashboard. The only way to operate it is by manual forcefully opening or closing against the lift arms. The mechanism was replaced because it is still under warranty. However, it started doing the same thing again.

Driver's side strut tower has rusted to the point were the truck will pass va state safety inspection. There was a recall performed by several years ago by Nissan for the rust issue on both inner wheel wells and strut tower area.
The visor broke and the interior door handle stopped working.
While driving on highway, front hood latch that holds hood down became unlatched, causing hood to fly back hitting and shattering windshield, damaging the right and left fenders and denting the roof of my vehicle .
Nissan repaired strut housing under recall. Their " band-aid " of a repair is failing. Contacted Nissan and was told they did what was required. Housing repair is coming apart and brake line pulling away. Was told buy a new vehicle. Why should I when mine runs perfectly fine. But now its unsafe. So unhappy with their response.
Hood latch failed slammed into windshield while driving.
It appears the molding on the passenger side roof rack has come apart. The seal and the actual roof rack piece now flap in the wind. I did some research on this and it seems several hundred people have dealt with this issue, even after months of purchasing the vehicle. The first time I experienced this was driving down the road and I heard something hitting my roof, I figured a stick might of got caught in the roof rack or something. Every time I drive it flaps in the wind.
