I am writing regarding the defective condition of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder (approx. 16,431 miles) purchased on Nov 10, 2025. With the onset of spring, the a/c system has failed, blowing only ambient air. This aligns with known manufacturer defects: jump tube defect (pc899/pc939): faulty seals causing refrigerant leaks. A/c amplifier (ntb23-033a): irregular airflow and spontaneous surges. Notably, I reported hvac and mechanical concerns within the 90-day warranty period. On Dec 20, 2025, I notified the dealership of whistling sounds/airflow bursts and clicking noises in the steering system. Although technician dismissed these as "normal" at the time, reporting them within the warranty period preserves my right to repair. While previous issues (loose bolts/chassis vibration) were resolved, the hvac irregularities persist. On April 18, 2026, I returned to report the a/c failure and was denied a complimentary diagnostic, despite the vehicle being sold in a defective condition. Requested actions: full diagnostic: a comprehensive, no-cost inspection of the entire hvac system. Complete repair: replacement of the condenser, jump tube, seals, a/c amplifier, and related components under dealer responsibility/manufacturer goodwill. System service: full evacuation and recharge of refrigerant to manufacturer specs. Confirmation that the vehicle is returned in fully functional and safe condition at no cost due it was reportes during warranty period.

Sunroof “exploded” while driving and shattered. Yes, this may be inspected. Risk of glass entering the vehicle. The incident has not been inspected yet. There were not any warning messages or indicators.
The accelerator pedal has gotten stuck at full throttle 3 times under the all weather rock creek floor mat. The mat appears to be properly placed in its molded position, but it allows the pedal to go behind the mat and get stuck. 3 separate times this has happened.

My vehicle has the idle stop feature. When at a red light, the vehicle shut off and went into idle mode. However, when the light turned green, and I removed my foot from the brake and pressed the gas, nothing happened. The vehicle had shut off entirely and when I turned it back on, it was in neutral. I had to put the vehicle in drive. I had 2 children in the car with me and it was very nerve racking to have a plethora of vehicles stuck behind me honking their horns because I was not moving for a green light. Now mind you, the speed limit on this road is 45 mph. If traffic was flowing, we could of been rear ended. I think we got really lucky on this day. I purchased this vehicle 8 days ago. I researched this issue and it is a common issue, however, there is no recall for it. . Read more...

Went out to my car and shut the door. Heard a cracking sound after I shut the door. Then the back window fell in. It completely shattered the back window from shut the driver side front door.
3rd row side window shattered, while stopped at a traffic light.
While driving at highway speeds, my 2025 Nissan Pathfinder suddenly loses power and enters limp mode with no warning. The dashboard displays: “engine malfunction – power reduced – service now. ” when this happens, the vehicle cannot accelerate and struggles to maintain speed, creating a serious safety hazard in traffic. This has occurred multiple times. First time was on January 6th - entered highway and car stalled, was able to pull over and have the car towed to the dealer and they stated, "cannot replicate the issue". Second time February 15th - car stalled on highway and husband was able to pull over and restart the car. Third time was February 18th - car entered limp mode on the highway, car was towed to the dealer and they have yet again stated, "cannot replicate the issue". During each event, the Pathfinder rapidly decelerates, and I am forced to pull over immediately to avoid being hit from behind. The loss of propulsion happens suddenly and without any driver input. This places me and other drivers in danger, especially at high speeds and on icy alaska roads. Two of the times was during snowstorms with low visibility. Attempts to repair: I have taken the vehicle to the Nissan dealership. The dealer states they “cannot replicate the issue” and returns the vehicle without repair. However, the warning message and limp-mode event clearly indicate an engine or powertrain failure. The issue continues to reoccur despite these visits. Safety concern: because the vehicle loses power in fast-moving traffic and enters limp mode, it poses a substantial risk of collision or injury. This defect could cause a serious accident, especially at highway speeds or in winter driving conditions.
Hi as I was driving my car on a clear road no cars near my car all of a sudden my sunroof exploded as if it was shot my a military tank we panicked thankfully tried to maintain calm and it didn’t hurt my children and thankfully no car was around as the sound did put us at panick mode which could have resulted in a car crash from the cause of the incident.
The speed sign reading technology reads the s. R road signs as speed limit signs. I have a 25 model and it does not do this. The 2026 model is equipped with the pro pilot system which is not on the 2025 model.
I am reporting a failure of the around view monitor / camera system on my 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. The system stopped functioning completely without warning. Pressing the camera button does nothing, the camera cannot be activated through vehicle settings, and no camera views (rear, front, or surround) are available. Parking sensors and the infotainment screen continue to work, indicating a system-level electronic failure rather than user error or a single camera issue. This vehicle relies on the camera system for rear visibility and low-speed maneuvering. The loss of this system reduces driver visibility and increases the risk of collision, especially when reversing or parking. The failure occurred despite normal use and maintenance, with no prior warnings or messages to the driver. The vehicle is only a few years old, yet the repair involves replacement of a major electronic control module at significant cost. This appears to be a premature failure of a safety-related electronic system. I am concerned this may affect other vehicles of the same model year and configuration.
While driving at a moderate speed of 65 mph, the back portion of my panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered. There was a very loud noises followed by rattling of the glass on the sun roof cover. I pulled over immediately and pulled the sunroof cover half way back to see a hole the size of a softball through the sun roof. There is no debris that was flying in the air, on the road, or any signs of an object hitting my car. On inspection there was no body damage from my car and when I looked into the hole of the sunroof there was no object within it. There was also no vehicles directly in front of me, only a vehicle 150 feet in front. The weather was cloudy, but no rain or wind.
On two separate occasions I placed my child in the car and then placed my bag in the front passenger seat of the car with my key fob in the bag. After closing the door, the car would automatically lock as if I had walked away from it with my keys. But the key fob was in the car. My car was not turned on and on one occasion it was 70+ degrees outside. I had no way of accessing my car and my child was locked inside it. Luckily things turned out okay, but now I can never trust my keys or my car. I always have my keys on me and never leave them in the car. I know it’s a safety feature for these cars to stay unlocked whenever keys are in the car. My car however, seems to have an issue with this feature. It’s impossible to duplicate so I’m not sure taking it into the shop would make a difference.
I also have noticed the gurgling sound from the passenger's side when raining and/or when I have had my vehicle washed, and as of this morning 12/02/2025, I have a leak inside the cabin of my vehicle from the middle upper console and over the passenger side window. I am taking it to a windshield repair place to be inspected to see if it is an issue with the windshield or the moonroof. I will then be taking it to the Nissan dealer.
Windshield is causing double vision at night with lights. I am see distortion at all times but seems to be greater at night. The further from the object the greater the double vision is. It goes away when I look out the windshield at the very top. The car is brand new with no damage and windows are clean.
On 10/12/25, while driving on the interstate, the sunroof of our 2022 Nissan Pathfinder suddenly exploded. As of today (10/13/2025), the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. When the sunroof failed, the interior roof shade was closed. I was driving at interstate speeds with my wife and children in the vehicle. The sound of the sunroof exploding was very loud and came without warning, startling all of us - luckily, I managed to keep control of the vehicle. We could hear shards of glass bouncing around above us - had the roof shade been open, we would have had a large amount of sharp glass shards fall on us. This event happened yesterday (10/12/25), and I will be calling our dealer today (10/13/25) to confirm the issue - I have provided a photo of the sunroof, taken after we safely left the interstate. As of today (10/13/25), the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives; it has been inspected by me and my wife. There were no obvious signs of anything striking the sunroof: the only loud noise was the glass shattering, and there was no apparent damage to the fabric of the interior roof shade (which was closed when the sunroof exploded). The interstate was clear of debris when the incident took place and there were no indications of rocks, gravel, etc. Before the sunroof exploded, there were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

Vehicle year: 2023 make: Nissan model: Pathfinder platinum 4wd VIN: [xxx] mileage: 24,500 date first noticed: October 8, 2025 problem: the panoramic sunroof drain system is defective, causing water to leak into the cabin during rain, dripping from the driver-side overhead console and door area. This matches Nissan TSB ntb23-073 (oct 9, 2023), which admits a design flaw in the front drain grommets (part #76938-5na0a) leading to poor drainage and clogs—even from normal environmental debris like sand in florida. The vehicle was built November 2022, well within the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Nissan dealer (Nissan of naples) inspected (oct 9, 2025) but performed an inadequate diagnosis: only a photo of sand in the tray, no water intrusion test, no drain line analysis, and no TSB verification. They charged $207. 54 and denied warranty, claiming "environmental concern" and "outside influence" (sand clog, not defect)—contrary to the owner's manual (pp. 2-121/2-122), which requires zero drain maintenance. Nissan consumer affairs (case xxx) upheld the denial, refusing written explanation. Bbb complaint (nis2519919) and FL lemon law form 1a filed Nov 6—still unresolved. Safety risks: - mold/mildew growth in headliner (health hazard). - electrical shorts in overhead console (lights, controls, airbags). - driver distraction from water dripping near visor/windshield. This defect impairs safe operation and could affect others. Nissan must recall/fix under warranty. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The control buttons located on the steering wheel of the newer model Nissan Pathfinder are malfunctioning. These buttons control numerous functions and sensors. What's happening is, the spring action of the buttons are failing and the button is loose. This causes the button to make contact as if it was pushed without touching it, simply driving over a bump. Some of these buttons control warning sensors for the vehicle, anti-collision, parking, blind spot, etc. Numerous people are complaining about this online. Several have said their dealer service department acknowledges that this is a known issue. I contacted Nissan customer service and they told me there is no information in their system about this problem and any repair would be out of pocket by the customer. This is a very expensive repair. This issue must be addressed. There are too many Pathfinder owners having the exact same problem. Please look into this. Thank you.
The continuously variable transmission (cvt) assembly failed completely, rendering the vehicle inoperable. The transmission is currently available for inspection at the independent service center where repairs are being performed. The vehicle was purchased in September 2025 with approximately [unknown/low] mileage. Within the first week of ownership, the driver experienced violent shuddering and juddering when attempting to accelerate. This symptom worsened over a few days, eventually progressing to complete transmission failure — the vehicle could no longer accelerate or move under its own power. An independent transmission specialist identified a faulty casting in the cvt torque converter that caused internal belt/chain slippage. Once slippage began, the entire cvt assembly was damaged beyond repair. The specialist confirmed this is a known manufacturing defect in 2013 Nissan Pathfinders, not a result of owner misuse or maintenance neglect. A full cvt replacement was required. The sudden loss of transmission function while the vehicle was in operation created an immediate safety hazard. The vehicle could not accelerate when needed and could not be safely operated on roadways. This defect creates an unreasonably dangerous situation and increases the risk of crash or collision, particularly in traffic situations where acceleration is needed to avoid hazards. Yes — the failure was confirmed and diagnosed by an independent transmission service center. The specialist identified the faulty torque converter casting as the root cause and confirmed this is a known defect pattern in 2013 Pathfinder cvt transmissions. The transmission is available for inspection. The vehicle was not inspected by a Nissan dealership prior to repair. The owner contacted Nissan consumer affairs multiple times (via phone and written correspondence) before taking the vehicle to the independent service center, but did not receive assistance or an inspection appointment.

Avm cameras stopped working. The Pathfinder is a large vehicle with inherent blind spots. The rearview camera system is essential for safety. The problem was inspected and verified by local Nissan dealership (jim kerras Nissan of jackson, TN). The problem is unresolved and dealership has made very little effort to reconcile. The issue started for no apparent reason and the vehicle is just outside of the warranty mileage. 2023 Nissan Pathfinder platinum with 41000 miles.
Mold & mildew smell is coming from air vents every time vehicle starts. Bommarito Nissan of hazelwood first said they smelled something when we brought it in. But they said we must’ve spilled a drink and suggested we clean our carpets. We knew that wasn’t true but we had it professionally cleaned and aired out. The dealership also replaced both filters and cleaned the evaporator. The smell didn’t go away so we brought it back. Now they’re just saying they “don’t smell anything out of the ordinary. . ” this is a certified vehicle, like new. . We’re very concerned for our health and safety. And the dealership isn’t going to help.
To whom it may concern, I am submitting this request under my existing consumer affairs case number [xxx] regarding my 2015 Nissan Pathfinder (VIN: [xxx] , plate: [xxx] ). On [insert date], while driving on the freeway, the hood latch failed and caused the hood to suddenly fly up, completely blocking my view. This recall-related defect directly led to my vehicle striking another car. Thankfully, no one was injured. However, my vehicle sustained significant damage: •both front fenders were bent •front bumper was damaged this incident was a direct result of the hood latch defect that is already part of a safety recall. The failure created an extremely dangerous situation that could have caused serious harm to myself and others. I am respectfully requesting that Nissan cover the cost of repairs or provide reimbursement for the damage caused by this recall-related failure. I believe this is a fair and reasonable resolution, as the damage was not due to negligence but to a documented safety defect. Please advise me of the next steps required to process this request, including any documentation, repair estimates, or photographs you need me to provide. Thank you for your attention and for working with me to resolve this matter. Sincerely, [xxx] phone: [xxx] case number: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The car shifted into neutral all by itself. I had to completely put the vehicle in park, then put it back in drive.
The transmission appears to be failing. When accelerating, the rpm increases but the vehicle speed does not respond immediately, creating a slipping and jerking effect. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested. The vehicle hesitates and jerks when accelerating, especially when merging into traffic or driving at highway speeds, which creates a risk of collision due to the loss of proper acceleration. The front tires also shake unexpectedly, making it difficult to maintain control of the vehicle. The issue is known and widely reported for this model year. Similar symptoms have been documented as transmission failures in 2013 Nissan Pathfinders. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by Nissan for this issue. No warning lights appeared. The symptoms started gradually with hesitation when accelerating and have worsened over time to frequent slipping, jerking, and tire shaking while driving.
When I push on break it doesn’t engage to release car from park.
This vehicle no longer meets the epa tier 3 standards that are needed to be on the road . I as the customer am not ok with this and because of this reason I’d like the entire vehicle to completely recalled . As it is not any longer fit to be on roads . The fact is that this car presents a health risk that is known to be fatal to life . So when you ask if the re has been any fatalities the answer is , yes , the emissions from old cars like the 2003 Pathfinders have killed peoples already and guaranteed thing contributed to thier death and it will continue to be a contributing factor until it is recalled completely like it should have been done in 2017 . The moment that it was no longer meeting safe legal standards.

While parked back rear glass shattered spontaneously. No object stuck glass. No visible sign of impact. Car was not moving and sitting still. This was a safety issue for rear 3rd seat passengers. No warnings were present.
Unknown . The steering column broke.
While driving along a 2-lane country road the glass in the panoramic sunroof suddenly exploded. Glass shards rained down into the passenger compartment. Luckily no cuts or other injuries were incurred. The could have been a more serious situation had my wife swerved the vehicle when the glass exploded. I am currently at the dealership for them to examine it. I am aware that this has been a known issue on previous Pathfinder models as well.
My 2013 Pathfinder keeps shuddering and jerking and swerving while driving.
Nissan Pathfinder vehicles to repair the cvt transmission fluid cooler hose (inter-cooler). The internal fluid cooler (itoc) hose may detach from the cooler due to inadequate clamping force. Inter-coolers may overheat, fail operation causing leaks and possible fires. If this occurs, the cvt transmission fluid will begin to slowly leak and the malfunction indicator lamp (mil) will illuminate on the instrument panel. If the mil is ignored, the cvt transmission fluid will drain further, resulting in noise, vibration and possible fire. If this is ignored, eventually the cvt transmission will no longer operate properly and the the vehicle will stop accelerating, which could increase the risk of a crash and endangerment. Rear hatch on some 2017 Nissan Pathfinders. Specifically, some brackets used to attach the gas struts to the rear door (hatch) may be improperly made, potentially causing the struts to detach from the brackets when opening or closing the door. This could cause the hatch to fall rapidly, potentially striking someone. Identified as 18v-601, that includes the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder for a potential issue where the lift-gate (back hatch) may not lock properly, this will allow lift-gate to open while driving, not lock securely, potentially allowing someone to fall out of moving vehicle.

This morning at approximately 0615 I walked out to my vehicle to go to work. There was no damage to my car. When I entered my vehicle and closed my driver door, my tailgate glass crumbled leaving a massive horizontal hole in my rear windshield as well as the outer sides. There is now glass all over my trunk and driveway. Once again, the car had been sitting in my driveway for three days, there were no large pieces of debris around that could have hit it, and when I was in my car there were no loud sounds indicating something struck my tailgate. It just spontaneously shattered.
My Nissan Pathfinder has consistently had a ac compressor unit replacement several times. There is obviously a sealing issue on this part /vehicle. It’s absolutely unacceptable to replace a ac compressor unit 3 times within the 5 years of owning this vehicle.
There seems to be an issue with the seatbelt sensors; we have noticed that when operators and passengers buckle-in before starting-up the vehicle, once the vehicle is started it does not register that seatbelts are on/in use and the dashboard displays the dashboard seatbelt warning light, requiring the occupants to remove and re-engage their seatbelts a couple times till the sensors register properly . Another concern we have observed is that at times we will be driving through short distances, then suddenly it will feel forced as one puts the foot on the gas, while on drive (d), and it will not go smoothly as it should (almost as if it became stuck on a different gear?). We have had to safely pull-over, then turn the vehicle off and back on for the issue to self-correct. Year: 2025 manufacturer: Nissan model: Pathfinder.
