Nissan Pathfinder vehicles to repair the cvt transmission fluid cooler hose (inter-cooler). The internal fluid cooler (itoc) hose may detach from the cooler due to inadequate clamping force. Inter-coolers may overheat, fail operation causing leaks and possible fires. If this occurs, the cvt transmission fluid will begin to slowly leak and the malfunction indicator lamp (mil) will illuminate on the instrument panel. If the mil is ignored, the cvt transmission fluid will drain further, resulting in noise, vibration and possible fire. If this is ignored, eventually the cvt transmission will no longer operate properly and the the vehicle will stop accelerating, which could increase the risk of a crash and endangerment. Rear hatch on some 2017 Nissan Pathfinders. Specifically, some brackets used to attach the gas struts to the rear door (hatch) may be improperly made, potentially causing the struts to detach from the brackets when opening or closing the door. This could cause the hatch to fall rapidly, potentially striking someone. Identified as 18v-601, that includes the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder for a potential issue where the lift-gate (back hatch) may not lock properly, this will allow lift-gate to open while driving, not lock securely, potentially allowing someone to fall out of moving vehicle.

This morning at approximately 0615 I walked out to my vehicle to go to work. There was no damage to my car. When I entered my vehicle and closed my driver door, my tailgate glass crumbled leaving a massive horizontal hole in my rear windshield as well as the outer sides. There is now glass all over my trunk and driveway. Once again, the car had been sitting in my driveway for three days, there were no large pieces of debris around that could have hit it, and when I was in my car there were no loud sounds indicating something struck my tailgate. It just spontaneously shattered.

My Nissan Pathfinder has consistently had a ac compressor unit replacement several times. There is obviously a sealing issue on this part /vehicle. It’s absolutely unacceptable to replace a ac compressor unit 3 times within the 5 years of owning this vehicle.
There seems to be an issue with the seatbelt sensors; we have noticed that when operators and passengers buckle-in before starting-up the vehicle, once the vehicle is started it does not register that seatbelts are on/in use and the dashboard displays the dashboard seatbelt warning light, requiring the occupants to remove and re-engage their seatbelts a couple times till the sensors register properly . Another concern we have observed is that at times we will be driving through short distances, then suddenly it will feel forced as one puts the foot on the gas, while on drive (d), and it will not go smoothly as it should (almost as if it became stuck on a different gear?). We have had to safely pull-over, then turn the vehicle off and back on for the issue to self-correct. Year: 2025 manufacturer: Nissan model: Pathfinder.

While the vehicle was parked and unattended, the rear window of my 2025 Nissan Pathfinder spontaneously shattered without any impact or external force. There was no evidence of vandalism, collision, or falling objects, and the vehicle was stationary at the time. The glass shattered entirely, leaving shards throughout the interior cargo area and rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive or leave unattended. When the glass initially broke, there was no glass that fell inward or outward — it appeared to be a slow cracking failure, where the entire pane began breaking down gradually. I approached the vehicle to investigate and opened the rear door to get a better look. As soon as I opened the door, the natural movement and vibration from the door caused the already-shattered glass to collapse inward, which is what you see in the attached photos. Unfortunately, this makes it appear as if there was an impact from the outside, when in fact the glass was already fractured prior to any physical contact or movement. Immediately after the incident, I took the vehicle to a certified Nissan dealership for inspection. The dealer reviewed the damage but was unable to identify any clear cause or impact point, nor did they confirm a manufacturer defect. Regardless, I documented the incident extensively with photographs and obtained a formal service report. To protect the vehicle from weather exposure and theft, I am proceeding with a rear glass replacement. I am submitting this report to NHTSA because I believe this to be a spontaneous failure of the rear window glass that may indicate a broader issue with the manufacturing or installation of this component. If other drivers experience this failure — especially while the vehicle is in motion — it could pose a serious safety risk to passengers. I respectfully request that this issue be formally investigated. I am also pursuing reimbursement through Nissan consumer affairs.
Driving down the highway going 65 miles an hour and the sun roof just exploded out hardley no glass inside, sounded like a shotgun went off. Its brand new Pathfinder called dealer and they said they never heard of that. Have never opened the sun roof window.
Components affected: structure:sunroof | electrical system | visibility/wiper description of safety hazard: my 2022 Nissan Pathfinder suffers from a severe, chronic manufacturing defect causing substantial water intrusion into the vehicle's cabin through the sunroof assembly during rainfall. To date, the manufacturer’s authorized dealership network has attempted to repair this exact leak three separate times and has failed to cure the defect. This unfixable water leak creates two distinct, critical safety hazards: 1. Electrical failure/fire risk: water actively flows into the headliner, pooling behind the dashboard and running down the a-pillars. This directly exposes critical safety electronics—including the side-curtain airbags, rearview mirror sensors, forward-collision camera arrays, and steering column electrical modules—to active moisture. This creates a severe risk of sudden, catastrophic electrical short-circuits, unintended airbag deployment, or sudden loss of safety assist systems while operating the vehicle at highway speeds. The vehicle is currently leaking for a fourth time. Because the manufacturer's certified network is entirely incapable of sealing the vehicle or curing this defect, the vehicle remains an ongoing safety hazard to its occupants and other motorists on the road.

There is a recall on the make, model and year of my vehicle but the VIN says that my vehicle is not affected yet that is the only thing wrong with my vehicle. It leaks all of its transmission fluid within 10 mins of driving it. I have contacted the dealer but the dealer is over an hour away and they said that since my vehicle isn't apart of the recall they will not fix the problem even though they said that is exactly what is wrong with my vehicle and I would have to buy an entirely new transmission from them if I was to take it in to get it fixed. This is the recall information that they say is the problem in my vehicle but the VIN states it is not apart of. Nhtsa campaign 14v142000 report date: Mar 26, 2014 Nissan north America (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013 Pathfinder vehicles manufactured April 18, 2012, through October 3, 2012, and equipped with a continuously variable transmission (cvt). In the affected vehicles, the internal oil cooler (itoc) hose may detach from the cooler due to inadequate clamping force, allowing transmission fluid to leak.
I have 2014 Nissan Pathfinder but every time I start a shake so my dealer told me they're is something wrong with the transmission and there's a recall for this vehicle that I should filled claim.

The problem I am having now envovles the emc. After getting the catalytic converters replaced 2 times replacing the oxygen sensors 3 times and the manifold replaced, also a few other things that’s all connected the computer won’t acknowledge that’s the new parts have been replaced. So the engine still has a bad exhaust smell and the vehicle won’t run properly. Mechanic said I shouldn’t have a problem with the emc but it is the problem. The problems go away once the codes are cleared but come back when the engine light comes back on. I have also noticed that a recall for the emc for the same year vehicle but for a hybrid.
While driving at highway speeds, when attempting to accelerate when passing another vehicle or changing lanes, the vehicle has lost acceleration on more than 1 occasion. I could not accelerate even with the gas pedal all the way down. The car just rolled slowly for about 10 seconds before it began accelerating and jerked forward. Nissan not providing a solution because they “cannot duplicate the issue”.
The engine would shift out of drive into neutral while driving on the road. It one time shifted into park while pulling out of my driveway and left me stuck in the middle of the road for several seconds before it would allow me to shift back to drive. This has been continuous throughout. I reported to Nissan with no action from them. Sunroof leaks at 93,000 miles and regular maintenance (at home) the engine seized and they are saying sludge. I know it has been maintained so there has to be a separate cause. We had routine maintenance, the report from Nissan all along provided no engine issues or no oil pressure issues.
My Nissan Pathfinder had r24c6 hood latch recall repaired a couple months ago and is is still not updated in the NHTSA website? service was done at the Nissan dealership on sonoma blvd in vallejo CA. When I go to the Nissan dealership website to schedule an appointment, Nissan states that there are no open recalls on this vehicle (7sbe521) I will upload documentation to prove it was done. Nhtsa can also verify with dealership with necessary. Thank you!!!.

There is a recall for replacement of the hood latch. The recall id is r24b7. I have taken my car to the dealer twice. All they do is inspect and clean the part. They do not replace the part. It was my understanding the hood latch should be replaced. However gunn Nissan refuses to replace the latch. Can you help me. The hood still vibrates as if it is not closed.

Vehicle does not accelerates properly after a left turn it starts jerking violently and it correct itself after a few minutes or it can jerk repeatedly before correcting. After awhile the brake-shift interlock started not working properly by getting stock in the parking position making it shift to the drive position.
Transmission malfunction/failure caused loss of all power and had to coast over 3 lanes to the only available shoulder on the left side of the express lanes. This in and of itself could have been catastrophic due to the speed of the vehicles on the express lanes. Turns out there's a failure point on the flexplate and Nissan techs are aware of the issue. Nissan as a whole should replace them if this is the result.
The auto stop/start function. When enabled sometimes it shuts off engine and does not restart as the system should. Stopping at a red light, almost completely but light turns green and you go to accelerate but auto/stop shuts engine off and car dies in middle of intersection. You have to put in park restart engine and put in drive. Has happened to us 4 times with only 14k on car. Shop can’t seem to see what wrong. Car dies set faults but as soon as you restart car faults go away and Nissan says they can’t see any stored faults. They changed fuel pump put it did. It did not fix the issue. Happens again.
The rear hatch unlocks when I start the vehicle. Then the rear hatch is open indicator comes on.

The hood does not fully latch when closed unless manually engaged. I’ve brought it in to the dealer several times now to specifically have the safety recall completed but all they continue to do is “ clean” it and send me away. It is an ongoing issue and they will not complete the recall on my vehicle.
In January I took my car to the dealership to repair my recalls and I complained about my car juddering jerking and stalling they told me I need a new transmission. I paid for transmission and install the car is still serving and stalling and juddeing I looked up transmission problems it shows all Nissan Pathfinder has a recall on cvt . Is mine included in this recall or am I needing yet another transmission.
Pressing the gas pedal from a full stop resulted in no car accleration (aside from normal car rolling forward from taking foot off of brake) and no engine 'acceleration'. Only when I pressed hard enough did the car suddenly lurch forward/accelerate. This is very risky, as I had been making a turn I would potentially be blocking the incoming lane. In addition, after parking in a parking lot, and turning off the car, I noticed that the brake lights were still lit up.
Driver side view mirror shakes while driving making it unsafe to use the mirror to make s lane change. Nissan corporate refusing to fix the issue, they say it's normal.
While driving the car, the drivers side view mirror constantly shakes. The corporate mechanic advised he could not fix it. Nissan refusing to correct the issue. Almost involved in two accidents.
Interior door handle failure. The handle component of the interior door handle which retains the actuator cable frequently breaks resulting in an inability to open the door from inside the vehicle. I have replaced four of these on my vehicle in the 5 years I have owned it. The drivers door has been repaired twice. The component is plastic and obviously not made sturdy enough or made of appropriate material to withstand normal use. Failure of this component results in the inability to open the door from inside the vehicle, posing a safety concern should a passenger need to exit the vehicle in an emergency situation. Had I only experienced this issue once, I would not be gravely concerned, but this component is failing too frequently to just ignore. Numerous online forums also show this to be a frequent problem in all Nissan vehicles with this type door handle. At this point, I feel nisan should redesign the door handle with a more sturdy and structurally sound design that can hold up to normal use. And should recall and replace the door handles of all Nissan vehicles that use this particular door handle.
Sunroof leak- causing issues throughout the car. Mold which is very serious and dangerous. This has to be addressed.
Faulty fluid pump system fault cvt system I noticed the car was slow to accelerate like it was slipping. Then a few days later, there was a jerking/ shuddering you could feel the entire car shaking. I took to the repair shop and they are saying it pulled the code for cvt and fuel pump circuit. Car in the shop awaiting repair this seems to be common problem with the Nissan Pathfinder finder 2017. Is there anything can be done about this. It can easily become a safety hazard and potential loss of life. Shouldn’t there be a recall or resolution to this problem and coustomer get reimbursement for money spent with this defective product. Q.
Rear sub frame rusted through. Vans in mansfield ohio showed us were were the frame was completely rusted out.

My car jerks violently into first gear often. Slow acceleration. Exclamation mark inside a triangle warning light came on and my car wouldn't accelerate over tha 2 miles per hrs. When in park or at a stop light it idles roughly. Rear brakes have been prematurely expired. I have since replaced them.
While merging onto the parkway, the gas pedal snapped off during acceleration. There was no warning at all, it just snapped off when I stepped on the pedal. I was fortunate enough to pull over onto the shoulder of the parkway without incident, but I had no way to accelerate the car if I needed to. I was very lucky that nothing happened, but I'm very concerned about driving this vehicle and the potential danger it poses to myself and others if this happens again. I believe this is a serious issue and should be looked into with urgency. I've attached pictures of where the pedal snapped off. It appears to be a cheaply made piece of plastic that completely broke off. There is another picture with the pedal intact and circled in red, you can see an indentation towards the top of the pedal. This is where I believe the pedal broke off from.
Thursday 9/12/24 6:38 am temp 71 degrees. Driving on interstate and my 2017 Nissan Pathfinder sunroof exploded in the middle of the glass. No rocks were found. I reviewed dash cam front and rear footage and did not find any evidence of a vehicle close enough to throw a rock on the car.
I engage the parking botton on shifter, & the vehicle still rolled away from me after I got out of vehicle.

I am reporting a recurring defect involving the sunroof drain system in my 2023 Nissan Pathfinder platinum that has caused multiple interior flooding incidents. The vehicle has flooded three separate times due to failure of the sunroof drainage system. Water enters the cabin during rain events and accumulates inside the vehicle, causing damage to the interior and raising concerns about potential electrical system exposure and safety hazards. This issue has been addressed by a Nissan dealership on multiple occasions; however, the defect has not been permanently resolved and continues to reoccur. The repeated failure of the drainage system indicates a potential design or manufacturing defect rather than normal wear or maintenance-related issues. Water intrusion into the cabin creates safety concerns including: potential damage to electrical components risk of mold and air quality issues inside the vehicle driver distraction and reduced vehicle reliability despite multiple repair attempts, the issue persists. Nissan has declined further assistance due to the vehicle being outside of the warranty period, even though the defect is ongoing and unresolved. I am submitting this complaint to document a potential systemic issue with the sunroof drainage system that may affect other vehicles of the same model.
It begins shaking, jolting and shuddering while driving; started off happening at take off; then progressed to anytime speed was under 35mph; now, it does it often throughout all speeds. Nissan states it needs a new transmission which was quoted to cost $6,600+tax. The vehicle trade-in value is only $5,000ish prior to these symptoms. Vehicle has less than 117,500 miles and all maintenance and fluids have been routinely changed throughout vehicle's lifespan. This cvt issue seems to be ongoing therefore Nissan and other makes should not be allowed to put these into vehicles that are so costly and these transmissions begin to give problems while vehicles are still under warranty. Need assistance in fixing the costly transmission and Nissan should have a discount on this faulty transmissions that they knew had issues. No warning lamps or messages given; symptoms were found when taken in at 117,000 miles and stated transmission needs to be replaced. Warning lamps and signals should have been given to owner to prevent the damage done to transmission. Warning lamps do not show anything wrong with vehicle; however, the jolting, jumping and sputtering is very dangerous during driving and may cause accidents in braking, acceleration and/or heavy traffic flow.
