After my wife had difficulty trying to unlock the driver door using the thumb button, she had to result in using the key fob. . . Then while driving to work she was about to get on the freeway when she noticed the fuel gauge was reading empty. She pulled into the nearest service station to fill up but was only allowed to put in 3 gallons. Then the gauge read full. I had filled it the day before. After work she needed to pick up friends at the airport and tried to use the rear ac but it would only blow hot air. . . . . Now where to find out if these issues along with the air bags can be fixed. . . Such a hassle to deal with the dealer for items like these that should be warranty type fixes. What is a consumer to do?.
I was entering the highway and all of a sudden the car started shaking extremely and my service engine light started flashing, also the suspension shakes consistently causing me to swerve. I also have problems with the fuel gauge, not reading properly.
Ran out of gas b/c fuel gauge keeps showing empty even when it is full.
Getting ready to go out to shop got in the car started it up and the fuel gauge read empty and the yellow light came on. Thinking it was out of gas went to the gas station to fill it up and it was already full since then the light has remained on and the gauge still reads empty. Also the trip data will not show it just has a straight line that runs across. As of then have not driven it due to the safety of not knowing how much gas is in the car.

Vehicle threw a code (p0463 - fuel gauge sending unit) indicating the fuel gauge sending unit is malfunctioning. This is a problem which Nissan north America is aware of however failing to correct on many vehicles. Failure of the fuel gauge sending unit has many possible severe symptoms including, but not limited 1) failure of the fuel gauge to properly indicate levels of fuel, 2) failure of the fuel gauge in its entirety and/or 3) failure of the sending unit to properly function while in vehicles are in use potentially causing affected vehicles to shut down while in motion. Also a know problem with radiator leaking into automatic transmission which resulted in class action lawsuit against Nissan north America. Settlement was reached in which Nissan offers to pay for any and all repairs only if malfunction occurs, however when malfunction occurs it can be a significant safty issue affecting the performance of the impacted vehicle.

My 2008 Pathfinder's check engine light came on while my fuel gauge is showing empty when I would fill up constantly, the mileage on the vehicle was approx. 105,000. I was informed that it was my fuel level sensor that needed replaced, Nissan north America informs me my VIN isn't covered in the NHTSA reference #10v075000 recall of the fuel level sensor that began March 2010, I purchased my vehicle used after the recall was initiated. Due to the fuel level sensor needing replaced ($600), I was not able to pass my emissions test in CO ($25), and am not able to register my vehicle ($200). So if I have to pay for my own repairs I will have to replace a part that Nissan is aware has an issue, get a second emissions test and pay any late fees on top of my annual registration fee. I believe that if Nissan is aware or this issue they should repair my vehicle at no cost to me and/or if a recall was initiated then there needs to be more explanation as to why my VIN is not included.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the fuel gauge displayed inaccurate readings. The VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline).
