The vehicle shifted itself to neutral when stopping at a red light. I had to shift the car back to drive. When I tried to pull off from the red light, the car nearly shut off. Just researching other similar incidents, the problem is related to the start/stop function.

I've ran out of gas twice my indicator the gas tank gauge does not show that the vehicle is empty it shows it's full and then I run out of gas on the side of the road almost get hit by cars trying to get to gas station to get more gas in the middle of traffic very dangerous have my daughter with me trying to push my vehicle out of the way so I don't get hit apparently it's a recall that says mine was done but it's not done because it's still having problems I am the third owner of mine so I think it was mislabeled as completed if that's the case then how do I know any of these recalls have been done properly.

Vehicle engine stalled when approaching an atm, blocking the lane. After 15 minutes the vehicle was able to start, but stalled again at an intersection. It was towed to a Nissan service center.

Vehicle does not accelerates properly after a left turn it starts jerking violently and it correct itself after a few minutes or it can jerk repeatedly before correcting. After awhile the brake-shift interlock started not working properly by getting stock in the parking position making it shift to the drive position.

Brake lights staying on and when pressing down on gas no acceleration. Car stalls and when pressing on gas again acceleration accrues. . Very dangerous.

There was a recall concerning the fuel gauge not working correctly. The sensor in the tank needed replaced. Well my car had that recall fixed or so it says, but it is doing the same thing again. So are you gonna replace it again for no cost?.

The check engine light turned on and took it to dealership on 12/14/24 and they stated that throttle chamber may have issues. Used scanner and code p0101- mass air flow sensor circuit was read on scanner. Vehicle struggles to get air flow into engine causes speed to struggle when trying to accelerate.

Faulty fluid pump system fault cvt system I noticed the car was slow to accelerate like it was slipping. Then a few days later, there was a jerking/ shuddering you could feel the entire car shaking. I took to the repair shop and they are saying it pulled the code for cvt and fuel pump circuit. Car in the shop awaiting repair this seems to be common problem with the Nissan Pathfinder finder 2017. Is there anything can be done about this. It can easily become a safety hazard and potential loss of life. Shouldn’t there be a recall or resolution to this problem and coustomer get reimbursement for money spent with this defective product. Q.

I was driving vehicle and was at light to enter freeway went to accelerate and nothing happened but car would rev normal in park pulled over in traffic and almost got in a wreck with family in side is very unsafe.

$4000 worth of work. 4 visits to a local shop. 3 visits to the Nissan dealership, who claims to have replaced cylinders every time. My engine violently shakes even worse. Has cut off midst driving with no power to crank again. 4 batteries & 4 alternator replacements. Barely press on gas pedal and it shakes the whole car, then smells like something rotting.

Jerking and most of the times lag on first and second gear most mornings. .

Follow up to my prior complaint (NHTSA id number: 11568968). Sandy sansing Nissan in pensacola, florida replaced the fuel pump and the front forward detection sensor. We also had to have the middle row, middle seatbelt replaced due the sensor not working. We have had the vehicle back for a week and the problems have continued, if not gotten worse. The vehicle has stalled out multiple times, 3 days in a row, nearly causing my wife and children to be rear-ended by a semi truck on 2 occasions. The issue is the vehicle gets to about 27 mph, revs up to 6k rpms, stops moving forward and begins to slow down (at 6k rpms), warning lights like the oil light kick on along with several other lights, and the vehicle stalls, forcing the driver to glide off the roadway. My wife took a photo of the dash as she was gliding off the road and it shows the vehicle still in d (drive) at 0 mph and 1k rpms, whatever that means since the car was still rolling. Once off the road, she has to turn the car off to get it to reset so she can move forward. She stated that at least 2 times, the car restarts with the shifter still in d. On one occasion, she could not get the car to restart for several minutes. Nissan, of course, says they haven't gotten any complaints and no error codes. My wife also states the info center and radio always fail right before the vehicle starts stalling. I going to have to have the car towed to Nissan due to us living over a hour from the dealership and the car not being safe to drive.

Issue is related to insufficient starting and propulsion of the vehicle after the idle stop feature has stopped the engine. After the idle stop feature turns off the engine [upon stopping of the vehicle], the engine does not start quickly and efficiently. You take your foot off the brake, the vehicle begins to start, then you push on the gas, the engine/vehicle then hesitates and stutters, and then the engine finally fully engages and moves the vehicle. Engine doesn't seem to be getting sufficient fuel. Note: the most concerning issue is that upon pushing on the gas after idle stop, the vehicle has automatically slipped into neutral [two recent incidents], basically stalling the vehicle in traffic (until the rpms reduced and it could be put back in drive). This is a safety concern if I am beginning to take a left-hand turn or pulling out into oncoming traffic. I have to now turn off the idle stop feature each trip to avoid this safety concern (unless I forget). I will be bringing vehicle into the dealer for service soon - but I am not confident this is going to effectively diagnosed or resolved.

4 separate times now when driving the vehicle the vehicle has sputtered and died. The first time we were on a road driving at around 40mph and were able to coast into a parking lot. After a few minutes the vehicle restarted a we took it to the dealer the next day. The first 2 occurrences were in January of 2024. The 3rd occurrence was on April 23,2024. At around 9:30 pm, I was on my way home from the store and driving at 55mph when the vehicle suddenly died and was coasting. I was able to coast into an empty school parking lot. The Pathfinder would not restart and had to be towed to the dealership. They replaced the fuel pump and we picked it up on April 29th. The 4th time happened on may 20, 2024. We had just dropped our dogs off at the groomer and as we were leaving their parking lot, the engine suddenly died and would not restart. Since the vehicle does not have a way of putting it into reverse when it is off, we had to try starting it repeatedly until we were able to get it into neutral and then it had to be pushed back into the parking lot and had to be towed from there to the dealership, where it currently sits.

When refueling, gas pump stops prematurely before reaching full. Has happened on multiple occasions and and different gas stations. Vehicle only has 19k miles. I brought the vehicle into a Nissan dealership for further diagnosis but they could not identify the cause of the issue.

The vehicle had 58,827 miles when the fuel pump failed on 12/27/2023. The vehicle stalled at a 4-way intersection during an errand run. The vehicle would not move when shifted into drive and eventually die. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop (greg's japanese auto), where a certified technician confirmed and replaced the fuel pump.

In September 2020 there was a recall on the cvt transmission for several cars. I was not notified whatsoever, so consequently I had to pay for a replacement at my local dealership in February 2021. I was told that I was receiving a new transmission. In December 2023, I was informed that I would need a whole replacement. I went back to my local dealership and they informed me that they would be willing to fix it with a replacement from the factory if I did the labor. They stated I would have to do a claim with Nissan USA for the replacement. I called and was informed that I did not qualify because of the mileage and warranty period. I went back to the dealership and explained the issue, they said they could do nothing also. I have documents with all the details I would like to send in. The link to upload was not working for some reason. I tried several times.

I found my new 2023 Pathfinder at kraft Nissan in tallahassee, FL but since I live in GA I wanted to avoid paying taxes to transfer to GA. I contacted woody folsom dealership in vidalia, GA who contacted kraft and did a dealership trade. Woody folsom dealership sales rep delivered to my home on 9/27/23. On the same day as delivery, I drove the car to for about 30 mins and stopped at a red light. The auto stop feature was on - my car went from drive to neutral then off! I could not restart the car. I was in traffic with other vehicles who were blowing their horns at me. I did put on my flashers. I waited several minutes after attempting to start the car when it finally started again. The car went back to vidalia to be serviced and I was told it was fixed and a battery had to be replaced. Again, this same scenario occurred multiple other times. 12/13/23 I was pulling out of zaxby's and my car stalled on me, the turning lane for the cars on the opposite of rode was available so I pulled into it with my flashers as my car completely turned off. I had difficulty again starting the car back up. After several minutes of being turned off I was able to start it again. ** other issues 1/25/24 I was idling at a red light and car went from d to neutral then completely shut off. 2/8/24 I was idling in a parking lot waiting on a friend. A light on the dashboard came on indicating the car would be shutting down as to save battery. The car turned off. When I went to start the car again, it would not properly start. It sputtered. I gave it gas and no change. I put car in reverse and tried to go forward which it continued to sputter then turned off. I attempted to start the car but it would not. After letting the car stay off for several minutes it finally started. 2/10/24 after driving the car for about 30 mins with no issues then shutting off - I tried to start car again and it started the sputtering again. Same deal - let it sit then try again with it starting.

Car does not display the correct amount of fuel remaining once it hits half a tank left. Can read quarter of a tank remaining, and the distance to empty meter shows 40 miles. Or it will show 97 miles to empty and car will be on empty on fuel gauge. Then once I arrive at my destination, they flip. Driving 3 miles reports driving over 10-15 miles from distance to empty, the gauge starts moving. Never an accurate reading.

There's been a loss of power when accelerating, engine has made an odd noise during startup and occasionally a knocking noise when driven longer than a 10 mins. Dealership said there's metal in the oil pan. I saw an article today that said only Nissan three and four cylinder vehicles have these issues but my Pathfinder has the same problems.

My car has been flipping into manual mode from a stopped position. It’s happened about a dozen times at this point. I’ve taken it to the dealership multiple times. The first time I took it in they said they did some software updates. A few weeks later it happened again. Took it back in… they said they couldn’t find anything wrong. They tried to tell me it was “user error”. Since then it’s happened multiple times. It’s always from a stopped or slowed position such as a red light, stop sign or yield/merge. I’ve almost been rear ended on 2 occasions because I try to accelerate and the car will not go and once you realize it’s in neutral someone is already slamming on their brakes behind you! the most recent time it happened with my children in the car! this is unacceptable. I driven Nissans for over 20 years and never had an issue. I currently lease this vehicle. I have 5 months left and I’ve been begging the dealership to get me out of this car… I told them I’d drive anything but this. And they won’t. I’ve been dealing with Nissan consumer affairs which is a joke! I’m at my wits end.

Last July I felt jerking after accelerating on highway and decided to go in for service and found fuel injectors were the issues which these were replaced. Then again after 3 months now feeling jerking again and shaking after accelerating. There is no warning light appearing as I feel it. After reviewing with others 2023 Pathfinders, afraid my vehicle may stall and not be repaired. I’m still on payment for this new vehicle.

Yesterday my 2023 Nissan Pathfinder sl abruptly stalled about a minute into my morning commute on a busy road in traffic. The dash panel illuminated that the car "stalled". The car wouldn't immediately restart & engage. Thankfully, another driver pulled over and assisted to push my car to the side of the road. After several attempts, the car restarted and I could drive again. The car drive was sluggish at first but it made it the rest of the way just fine and later my return trip back home. The engine light is now illuminated indicating a fault/issue. The car is connected to an app on my phone and is recommended that I bring it in for service which I did to the Nissan dealership where I leased the vehicle from this morning. No determination has been made as of yet but based on my research of similar incidents online, it looks likely to be an issue involving the fuel pump. Unfortunately, the issue put my safety and others at risk and I hope that a repair can be made so that it never happens again.

Dear NHTSA, I would like to report a safety issue while driving this vehicle on interstate 35e north of downtown st paul, mn. While driving in traffic I went to move into a lane to the right allowing us to move in a less congested lane of traffic. During the move I pushed the pedal to full and the engine just shut off/cut out and stalled while in the middle of moving lanes in fast moving traffic. The vehicle jerked and slowed then the engine can back to life (fired back up) and my wife was screaming at this point that we were going to get us killed with traffic behind us moving at 60 plus mph. First my wife blamed me for this issue and I explained the vehicle just shut off under load and I was doing nothing wrong. This issue needs further attention or intervention from a higher authority than a dealer. Also, the emergency braking does not work on this vehicle going forward or backwards with all systems turned on. It has been at the deal for 7 days as of today sept 12, 2023. This event took place on Sunday September 03, between 3:30 pm according to our tracked google map trip. Vehicle stalled and the engine quit twice trying to enter the highway. The vehicle restarted but went into limp mode and would not accelerate at all, just ran with extremely rough idle. I waited several minutes and finally the vehicle restarted and would finally move. This could have been a serious life threatening event if the vehicle quit while pulling into highway traffic. The dealer replaced the fuel pump and I haven’t driven the vehicle anywhere but to my house. I understand from the internet that this is indeed a serious problem for some 2022-2023 Nissan Pathfinders I feel there needs to be a recall to repair this very dangerous problem robert grizzle.

I write to report the issues which are a safety hazard to me & whom ever operates it or I transport in it, which creates a higher concern for my & their safety . I purchased a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder sl on July 6, 2023 an eight seater model 4wd with 8 miles on the speedometer manufactured by Nissan as per label on door April 2023. The problem I have experienced recently after a month & two weeks now. The vehicle starts are normal but once the vehicle is on the road and is within normal operation temperature. I noticed that I must start applying brakes earlier than usual on where the same roads which I have driven other vehicles in order to stop did not have to do this. Is like if I don't do so & ignore not applying the brakes earlier now I must use greater than before foot pedal pressure that when is stop the vehicle jerks forward like it wants to continue on. Also there is a lost of gas pedal power when trying to enter the highway flow traffic, that since I was almost rear-ended twice already is kind of depressing creepy feeling that now I wait longer or seat at a lane in order to safely enter the flow of traffic or passing. In fear that the lost of power of this vehicle if I try to pass or enter will stall out and put others in danger if it does happen. There is also hesitation, jerking form engine & transmission at high & lower speeds. That requires more attention on the early braking problem I have described above. It seems the pilot assist & stop/start when off are still operating in the background. I have returned to the dealer service center that when he inform that I am not the only one affected. Nissan engineers working on it. The dealer allowed me a temp rental replacement vehicle for now but for how long?.

My complaint relates to campaign number 07v435000 we are the original and only owner of this vehicle. While driving the vehicle I started to notice a fuel smell, after several attempts to locate the source, one day I added fuel, I noticed a small puddle in my driveway the following morning. I removed the wheel and the fender well cover to find the fuel filler neck had rotted through and fuel had wet both the tire and the brakes. The above campaign number has a recall the ends in the prior manufacturing year even though the part in question was used by the manufacturer through the 2004 model year. I repaired the vehicle and am now dealing with a constant check engine light due to a manufacturing defect that creates a large vacuum leak at the fuel cap. The part arrived with a notice that the leak is common and recommends replacement of the fuel cap. I replaced the cap and am having the same problem. I have retained the defective part should you wish to inspect it. I think the recall should be expanded to the entirety of the use of the defective part by the manufacturer, model year 2004. It would also be nice if the replacement part manufacturer was fined for selling a product they know to have defective manufacturing. Leak discovered 20 August 2023 at 153,789 miles replacement part# fn748 from spectra premium ordered through amazon.

While driving on the parkway several times for traveling to work, my car would suddenly and violently shudder and drop speed much lower than the posted speed limit. My rpms would race from 1. 5 to 5 but no increase in speed when the accelerator was pushed. I had to put my emergency 4 way lights on and drive in the far right lane. Nissan dealership kept saying the vehicle was working fine when I complained about it. I took it in for service at least twice, nothing found. Then when my whole family was with me, the car shuddered violently, and would not respond at all with the accelator pedal and was unresponsive and the brakes difficult to engage and hard to steer. I had to glide into the shoulder to make a full stop. Then the engine would not turn off. All I could do was put my emergency flashers on and put the windows down for air. I had to call for help. My husband then tried the next day to drive my vehicle to the Nissan dealership, but again, the vehicle broke down and had to be towed. Nissan then finally diagnosed the problems as needing transmission replacement. Since it is a hybrid 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with less than 84,000 miles and over 7 years old I would need to buy a new transmission for over $14,000. My milage is under 73,500, but my vehicle is 9 years old. So my mileage is acceptable, but the age of the vehicle disqualifies me, because both parameters must be met for warranty to be effective. I already spent $1400 for a new air compressor system less than 3 months earlier for the same vehicle. I had no heat and no air conditioner.

Vehicle has auto stop/start. When at a red light and vehicle stops moving engine will shut off. When light goes green and foot is removed from break, vehicle starts up. Sometimes when starting back up it goes into neutral automatically. Other times the vehicle attempts to start. But shifts into neutral and shuts down completely. At this point you must manually restart the engine. This has created safety concerns for my family.

Just bought 2023 Pathfinder platinum edition and drove it once. First time driving on the highway at 70 mph on cruise control, the engine stopped and a message came across the dash saying " your engine has stalled. Please pull over to a safe area". This caused me to put my family's safety in jeopardy because we had to wait for 3 hrs for a tow in 100 plus degree heat in the desert with nothing to keep us cool except warm water. After getting it towed back to the dealer I bought it from ( hi-valley Nissan in victorville, CA), the service department told me that the fuel pump went bad. Looking online, it's becoming more frequent with Pathfinders as of late and was told the same thing by some of the people at the dealer. It has been in the shop for diagnostics and awaiting parts for coming on 30 days. It is almost going to be a CA lemon law issue. Now it is waiting on a gasket which more than one person at the dealer said that they might have to take from another vehicle to get the vehicle done. To me, bought a brand new 2023 Nissan Pathfinder platinum; not a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder platinum with used parts. As far as I know, gaskets shouldn't be reused if at all possible. Nissan needs to get this problem fixed and fast.

I want process fuel efficient. 16. 2 mpg. . Specifications. . 24 mpg. To 27mpg. . I request to claim to Nissan. I don't have answer . .

Failed fuel pump system.

Yesterday as I was driving normally at about 40mph the traffic came to a stop I slowed down as usual then came to a complete stop when traffic began to move again I gently accelerated and my car started moving abnormally slow I pressed down a bit more on the pedal and no acceleration at all the car was on and on drive mode there was nothing irregular but it would not advance more than about 2/3 miles per hour super slow. This went on for a minute and no matter how many times I pressed the gas pedal nothing happened I was absolutely terrified of the cars and semis behind me because it was a freeway and traffic flow started moving quick and I was still at less than 5mph suddenly the car jerked and at last speed. I drove off with the car working normal again but that situation has be very worried and scared because it is my main transportation for my 3 children.
