36 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/01/2023

Stop & start fuel saving system, which automatically engages while waiting in the traffic, is malfunctioning. In the best case scenario car switches the gear to neutral when releasing the break pedal to auto-start the engine. Another variation is shutting down the engine when attempting to drive off from the traffic lights or intersection after even a short stop. In a occurrence of this issue engine must be manually started like if it was parked. Last scenario, which happens to be the most dangerous, combines both previously mentioned behaviors and the fact that before the engine stops or gear switches to neutral, car may roll into the intersection and stop there, potentially leaving the car in a crash course with other cars. The last scenario is especially critical on left turns with no traffic lights. If driven by less skillful drivers this leads to some very nasty situations on the road. Nissan doesn't offer a menu option to permanently disengage start & stop system. One has to always remember to turn this function off after each car-start. Finally, turning stop & start system off results in significantly higher fuel consumption.

38 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/25/2023

1. Loud noise when starting the engine - noise like a train 2. I’m driving along and my car just starts vrooming it’s stuck between gears. It cuts off and changes gear to neutral or just cut off. Cars behind me literally almost wrecks everytime. 3. Panel on the driver side warf and came loose at within 7 days of purchse 4. Oil light came on- frighting 5. Loud noise from windows when driving - loud. All of this happen within a week after (Jan/2023 ) purchase. Reported to dealerships and Nissan corp. I requested to return the vehicle they said no. I stated that the vehicle is unsafe to drive. At first dealerships said they could't duplicate the problem, after many trips to dealships they said it was the fuel pump. I have been waiting on a fuel pumps for months. The bottom line is that the vehicle is unsafe to drive and cut off unexpectly whenever and has put myself and others in harms way. As of today I am still waiting on the part for my vehicle. Nissan nor any of the dealership has provide me with transporation while I am waiting. Please help.

39 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 10/05/2022

Fuel door does not lock. It does not lock when the car is locked by security system, and it does not lock when car is in motion. Car does not have to be turned off at gas station to unlock fuel door. There is no mechanism to keep the fuel door locked. There is no gas cap to cover nozzle entry point so at any point, gas tank can be tampered with. Fuel door pops open in car washes and water can enter the fuel tank. Very unsafe.

42 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 07/27/2022

Engine pinging/knocking and engine hesitation / surging most obvious in second gear steady throttle around 2k rpm. Doesn't matter what gas is used. Engine hesitation and pinging/knocking is getting worse. Nissan states its normal operation.

43 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 07/27/2022

When braking anywhere from 50 mph to 25mph rpms increase whe braking, engine and transmission still pushing vehicle until torque converter disengages at 20mph. If you need to slow down quickly it requires extra braking force until the car reaches 20mph. . If you put the car in neutral it will slow down much faster because transmission and engine aren't still pushing the truck. This hot much worse after Nissan changed the transmission program a few months ago.

44 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/28/2022

Transmission cannot go into neutral unless the engine is running. . . But what if car runs out of gas and the engine cannot run? car ran out of gas and transmission could not go into neutral to be pushed out of the road. Very dangerous situation.

45 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/18/2021

In 2017 the engine light came on and I took my car to Nissan of mckinney, texas. They found the transmission was damaged and they claimed they replaced with another/new transmission. On November 18, 2021 the engine light came on again and I took the car to Nissan of mckinney. Michael d. Riffe at phone number 214 390 5370 or 469 877 0690 was my service agent. , after inspecting the car, he told me that the transmission is bad again and I need to pay approx. $5900 before tax and labor. I reminded him that they had just changed the transmission in 2017 so I didn't understand why the 2nd transmission went bad again, he refused to help repair/replace the transmission even though they claimed to have installed a new transmission in 2017. Michael told me since I had added miles on the car they can't replace the transmission and I will need to pay approx. $5900 before tax for it to be replaced. Nissan of mckinney is deceptive, I feel like I was robbed and Nissan of mckinney lied in 2017 when they claimed that they had replaced the transmission because a transmission does not just break and they never showed me proof that they had installed a new transmission. I am requesting for assist so Nissan of mckinney/Nissan can take full responsibility and repair/replace the transmission at no charge. Also, after a research I found similar suvs had transmission issues and there was a lawsuit filed in which Nissan accepted to settle, I was never made aware of this lawsuit and my vehicle is one of the affected vehicles in the lawsuit.

46 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/01/2021

First incident is dangerous. I have already had 3 incidences with this one. It has to do with the 'automatic shut off system' when you come to a stop light/sign or other reason the car shuts down when you pause driving. Traffic was heavy and it was necessary to pull out quickly on all occasions. The vehicle has such a pause that when it did start to go I had to slam on my brakes to stop so I wouldn't get hit. Took me till the third time to correctly identify the problem. Even if I turn off the 'auto', it comes right back on when you turn the car off and back on. Second issue is just really irritating. I purchased the vehicle for the tow capabilities. When you are towing and put the vehicle in reverse, it goes nowhere until you go thru about a dozen screens to turn it off the abs system. And it comes right back on when you turn the car off. When I am in tow mode I should be able to go directly into reverse. Third issue is just irritation. When you put the vehicle in reverse, if there is something in the front of the car the warning comes on for the front of the vehicle. If I am in reverse, no warnings should be coming on for the front of the car.

47 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/24/2021

June 2021 I brought my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder in for routine maintenance. I was informed there was a recall for the 'brake switch'. I had not received notice for this recall but east charlotte Nissan insisted it get done. Until this date I had no problems with this vehicle. Right after the recall was done I was driving thru a round-a-bout, tapped the brakes and then had no acceleration. There was a semi-truck on my bumper and I had no where to go. I immediately brought the vehicle back to ec and they insisted it was my transmission. They said they found no issues and charged me for work that was not necessary. I continued to brake down 4 more times pulling my trailer from nc to me. Two incidents were on i81n. I had semi-trucks all around me. Panicked!! I had the vehicle into 4 different dealers, 6 different times. They could not fix the issue. I asked berlin city Nissan to at least replace the recall parts. They did. My vehicle totally broke down this time, again going thru a round-a-bout. Every light on the dash was flashing. I had no control of the vehicle but was able to roll onto the sidewalk. I was too afraid to drive this vehicle any further. I called a tow truck. Several dealers explained they had seen this already and thought they could repair. None could. Marc motors sent that vehicle off to auction, as is!!! I have nightmares of some mom breaking down with her kids in the car. I have filed complaints with Nissan, 10 different departments. Nissan corporate is telling me the NHTSA is responsible for the nightmare Nissan has caused me and have 'brushed me off'. I am now in a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder and have identified 3 different issues with the vehicle. One of which is very dangerous. Not sure where to go next. I have all the documentation to back up my claim. Can you help?.

48 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/20/2021

We have a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder and started having issues in June 2021. Our car stalled while driving home from work almost causing an accident. Had it towed to Nissan and they told us we needed to replace the transmission. It took them 2 months to fix our car. In the midst of fixing the transmission they said the supercharger pulley needed to be replaced. Okay! we finally get our car and a day later the check engine light is on again and now the horn wont stop blaring. We had to disconnect the battery. We took it back to Nissan and they said the battery was bad. They replaced it but it did not fix the issue. Nissan had to call the Nissan tech line for suggestions. So they said the DC/DC converter assy needed to be replaced and the hv harness was also failing to communicate. All this is connected to the transmission. With the new recall coming out all of this should be refunded. We need assistance. Any information or suggestions anyone has would be highly helpful.

49 Other Fuel System problem of the 2009 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/07/2021

Vehicle stalls intermittently at low to moderate speeds or in park. Camshaft position sensor was replaced which was the diagnosed issue.

50 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 12/11/2020

There was a clacking noise coming from under my hood. After researching what this could be, it appeared to be the fan cooling system. The local dealer told my husband that this seemed to be a problem with many of the Nissan Pathfinders stating that it seemed several of the fans would "go out". Also, my windshield washer fluid does not work. I'm not sure how/why this would go out; as all of the electrical components inside of the vehicle still work.

51 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/09/2020

All our fuel injectors had to be replaced for a total of $2,132. This should not have happened on a 3 yr old car! we were driving recently and the check engine light went on and we smelled a lot of gas.

52 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 10/13/2020

I was traveling at approx. 35 mph when the car shuddered violently for a second or two, all panel lights lit up and everything completely shut down while going through a very busy 6-lane intersection. All steering, brakes, and maneuverability were lost. I was lucky to coast to a safe spot and if this had happened on an interstate it may have easily been catastrophic. The dealer found a failed cam shaft sensors (their verbiage on the bill). Replaced both and the crank sensor.

53 Other Fuel System problem of the 2009 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 07/20/2020

This truck is very well cared for,,all of a sudden its stalling at any time,,some hard starts,,runs perfect ,than stalls, while driving,no steering, very scarry,I thought it was bad gas I filled 2 more time from good gas station 89 and 91 octan,.

54 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/30/2020

After using brakes either at a stop light or while driving, when I reapply the gas pedal nothing happens. The rpms stay at idle and the vehicle barely moves. Problem intermittent and unpredictable. It appears that the brake lights stay on when this is happening. I have even parked the car and turned off the vehicle and the brake lights stay on. Has happened when trying to accelerate onto a highway. Very dangerous! I have almost been rear ended at traffic lights.

55 Other Fuel System problem of the 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/13/2020

The gas gauge stopped working a few months ago. Had an appointment to have the fuel sensor replaced. The fuel sensor is fine. The mechanic said it was most likely the gauge. In researching over the past several months, this appears to be a huge problem with the 2003 Pathfinder. This should be recalled. I'm not sure why it it isn't since it is a wide spread issue.

56 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/24/2020

My car ever now and then makes no power after breaking . I have to take car out of gear step on gas put it back in gear to drive again only happen ever so often . I think there is a recall on freak switch .

57 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/11/2020

Increasing engine noise, heavy highway vibration (almost like unbalanced tires) and very choppy start-from-stop exceleration caused me to have the car looked at by a mechanic. Diagnosed as a transmission problem. Only option is to replace. I thought there was an earlier recall on this model for powertrain issues, but my car shows "0 unrepaired recall items".

58 Other Fuel System problem of the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/19/2019

Just purchased my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder le ( 4x4) with 55,000 miles on it ( our fault sign unseen) from out of state ( florida dealership) I believe it was originally a va car. We had it hauled up via truck to wisconsin. Now mind you we have paid for this car already so we had no choice but to take it. I moved it out of the way until I could get it licensed, my husband then started it when he got home and he went around the block and then check engine light went on. The gas gauge showed full however when I pulled it out of the wayafter driving around a couple of blocks it went to e and the light came on. My husband went to fill it up thinking that may help, but it would not allow him to fill it, it would put some in, then stop, he did that 5 times and gave up. We checked online for any recalls and found there were several one of them being a fuel sensor issue. We called the dealership we got it from and they said any recalls have since been expired. Being we are the 2nd owner of this vehicle we don't know if the first owner did anything if there were recalls. How can we find this out? if there is a way to show this, and they did nothing about it, is there a way to get these fixed under warranty? also, is there a way to see if the code we are getting has been in the cars memory for some time ? most importantly is if the recalls were never take care of, is there an exception that can be made to fix the recalls that were put out there for this model? any assistance would be great! the date below on when this happened is based on when we first got it how long its been going on we don't know. Again if there is a way to see its history through the computer we would like to know how to go about finding that out.

59 Other Fuel System problem of the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 10/04/2019

The vehicle damage the pump fuel during a period of 9 months it was changed 4 times.

60 Other Fuel System problem of the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 09/13/2019

Coolant and transmission fluids are mixing, loss of transmission power.

61 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 09/10/2019

Upper intake manifold cracked. This was found out by rough idling, slow acceleration, increased gas usage, and engine light on.

62 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 08/20/2019

Brake lights stay on and vehicle has loss of power when trying to accelerate and the when brake lights go off it goes back to full power. This is a known issue with this model but it appears my VIN number isn't covered although it has the same issues as other 2013 Nissan Pathfinders. I have less than 61000 miles on the vehical.

63 Other Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 08/01/2019

I has to replace the 2 gaskets on the oil galley gasket in the timing cover. It coat me over 1000 dollars and I had a 2005 Nissan xterra that had 5he same problem and it cost be thousands to fix and I had to junk it because it smoked so much then valve train got f ried. .

64 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 07/01/2019

At random, little to no acceleration at initial take off and/or while driving in traffic on a highway or street even if pressing gas pedal to floor. Vehicle will start without pressing brake. Brake light remains on after car is turned off. I've had catalytic converter and brake work done to correct the problem to no avail. Also, I wanted to check speed control as a affected part but it wouldn't select.

65 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 07/01/2019

While the vehicle is in motion if randomly becomes unresponsive to the gas pedal being pressed to engage the engine and continue moving forward. The vehicle doesn't shut down, the engine is still running, however, it doesn't respond when the gas pedal is engaged to accelerate. This occurs while driving on city streets and highway. The safety concern is when the vehicle is moving with traffic and doesn't respond to the gas pedal the vehicle begins to slow down and may cause an accident. The most recent episode occurred this afternoon (7/1/2019) while driving to the servicing dealership for a scheduled oil change. My wife merged to the left lane (also the passing line) in order to get off the left side exit to the dealership. The vehicle became did not respond to the gas pedal and slowed down to 45 mph nearly causing an accident because traffic on the left lane was moving approximately 65-70 mph. My 2 young children were in the vehicle at the time as they are most of the time when the vehicle doesn't respond to the gas pedal being pressed. We've had the vehicle diagnosed by the local Nissan dealership (crowley Nissan) and they've found nothing wrong with the vehicle. We were told that's how the cvt transmission is supposed to work ( it's not supposed to potentially kill you and your family). I've done some research on the web for similar issues and there are many Nissan Pathfinder experiencing the same concern. I also contacted Nissan of north America to express the concern and they had no resolution, the representative also said they can not take website input, or blogs of customer expressing concerns with their vehicle. The only suggestion is the take it to the dealership and have them diagnose the problem, but the dealership tells us they need a trouble code from the system that's failing. When this occurs no trouble code comes up, so, we're going around in circles.

66 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/25/2019

Loss of power while in motion from a 35 mph zone and went down to 20 mph release gas pedal and regained power. I see the same issue reported other posts. Please investigate before the loss of life.

67 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/08/2019

Multiple electrical issues after dealer service for 80,000 miles. The safety issue is intermittent acceleration issues when merging into traffic or starting from a full stop. Little to no acceleration in those situations. Other issues that came up at the same time include: a) intermittent brake lights staying on with vehicle parked and powered off and b) intermittent skid warning light illuminating for no reason.

68 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/23/2019

I just purchased a used 2015 Nissan Pathfinder with 24,000 miles three months ago. In the last few weeks I have been experiencing problems accelerating after coming to a complete stop and while driving at normal speeds. I would start to accelerate after a complete stop and the Pathfinder would only move at a slightly higher than idle speed until I put my foot on the brake and then once again on the accelerator pedal. Other times I will be driving at a speed above 20 miles per hour and the Pathfinder will no longer accelerate past the current speed no matter how hard I press the accelerator until I tap the brake and then the accelerator. I also noticed that some times when one of these events happens, the slip light indicator will come on and stay on until the Pathfinder is turned off and back on. This issue can happen several times in one day or not at all for several days. I was almost t-boned today while crossing a street when I had no power. This is a huge safety issue. I took it to the dealer where I bought it and they found nothing wrong.

69 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/15/2019

Break lights will stay on even if the car is parked. It will stay on while driving. When this happens I have to depress brake pedal twice. The other issue is loss of power. When accelerating from a complete stop, the car will not go when I push the gas. Even if the accelerator is fully depressed the car will not move. This also occurs while in motion. It has happened while trying to accelerate onto the highway and there was loss of power.

70 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 02/11/2019

While driving on the freeway the accelerator would suddenly not respond becoming a life hazard to my family and myself and also other drivers behind my vehicle; the cruise control also stop operating when this occurs. Also the brake light would illuminate without the brake pedal being depressed and with the car being off.
