Fuel Injection Problems of Nissan Quest

Near miss with a stalling Nissan Quest sl 2011. This is an extremely unsafe and very dangerous problem that can cause severe accidents and death or serious injury in the event of a crash. I bought a nisan Quest sl in November 2011. Back in December 2011 while having a little bit less than a quarter tank of gasoline I made a left turn to get into incoming traffic and the vehicle stalled right on the traffic lane, fortunately there were not any cars close to my vehicle. Initially I thought it had been an isolated event, but my wife commented that the same thing had happened to her. This weekend while driving down hill and entering an intersection the vehicle stalled again (I was going straight, without turning) and the car behind me was barely able to stop when I lost speed, they almost hit us. From the events explained above I assume the fuel injection is failing due to a bad gas tank design and/or the turning and/or driving down hill may be contributing due to the uneven flow of gasoline. Again this is an extremely dangerous condition that may cause severe accidents.

Where to start. . . . Brakes; 65,000 miles and we're on the 4th set (we've replaced them 3 times)! efi. . . Every 25,000 miles the throttle sticks and yes, we joined the class action. And the latest? the crossover pipe on the exhaust system broke, filling the cabin with exhaust. . . Engine parts should last longer.

Since April 7, 2003, I have taken my car in for a noise in the drive system. It was supposedly fixed at that time however, I have since been back 6 additional times to fix the same problem but they created new problems. I called Nissan consumer they order that the car get a new tune up although I had one in November at no charge to me. I have had my fuel injection work done 3 times since November. The car is starting to act up again with the noise in the drive system and again acting like it wants to shut off. I have had it. Please send guidance as to what I could do to get rid of this lemon.

The car hesitates, coughs at intervals like it is miss-firing. A throttle clean, manifold clean and tank filter clean have all been performed and still it jolts and appears for a split second like it is going to stall and die. Started just when stopped or idling now is apparent when driving on highway at highway speed. Problem is unresolved as yet.

Car stalls/dies. . When driving long distance. Dealer says nothing wrong. Cannot find problem. Twice stalled on highway. Twice stalled on fastrak/carpool. Towed. Purchased car 3/02 w/56k service. Had l service warranty work done. Air conditioner (a/c) never really worked great as like other cars. Some days it works someday not.

Noticed gas smell inside and around vehicle for some time even after the recall fix was done. On date of failure, vehicle was hard to start and engine ran poorly with visible smoke from the exhaust. Gas fumes were extremely strong and gas was visible on injector and engine.

Accelerator cable continuously sticks. This is caused by debris in the fuel injection system.
