1 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2020

The airbags will not deploy on the passenger side of the car because of an air bag seat fault in the 2009 Rogue cars. The 2008 and 2010 Rogue models had the same problem but a recall was enforced on it. Nissan admitted the 2009 seat sensor was made by the same company but it was a VIN problem. Found on your site affected VIN numbers all start with jn8as58 including mine. We are all having this dangerous problem of the air bags being shut off automatically. Nissan wants 2000 dollars to repair the problem. This problem also passes the safety part of a nys vehicle inspection. I though air bags were put in the car to save lives, but is not considered a safety issue them not deploying. Please push for a recall before someone dies.

2 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2019

Blinking airbag light on dashboard. Took it to the dealer they charged $115 for inspection and said that passenger seat cushion needs to be changed which has OCS sensor built in, which would cost additional $1965. This is a common problem with all Nissan Rogue 2009 and the company must recall to resolve this as if the airbags do not deploy in case of accident it could cause serious injuries or death.

3 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2016

Faulty ocuppant seat sensor in the passenger front seat. The airbag will not deploy in a collision.

4 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2015

The passenger air bag sensor light is flashing. The Nissan dealership determined that the airbag sensor is not working and would require a new sensor which cost $2500 to replace. I was told that in the case of an accident the airbag may or may not deploy.

5 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2015

The passenger airbag indicates "off" even when an adult is sitting in the passenger seat. Airbag warning light constantly flashing in dash. This problem seems to be a common one in this model year vehicle and should be repaired under safety recall through the dealership. It would be a very sad day when someone has an accident / crash and the passenger airbag does not deploy, potentially causing injury or even death!.

6 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2015

One day I started my car and the air bag light came on the dash board blinking for a minute and then stay on the whole time until I turn off my car, took it to a dealer and was told that the passenger side sensor under the seat is bad, they wanted to charge me $1,200. 00 to fix it, this happened right after the warranty expired around 72000 miles, so I have not fix it yet and as of today 01/03/2017 the air bag light is still on, I'm thinking that if I ever have an accident the passenger air bag will not deployed due to this problem, I hope that this report will help other people to come forward and report this problem so it can get resolved. . .

7 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2014

My 2009 Nissan Rogue has never been in an accident. Out of nowhere my passenger airbag light started to flash, I brought it in to my local mechanic who said that it was the airbag sensor underneath the passenger seat and that he was unable to do anything about it as it takes certain programming to make the airbags work appropriately. I then brought my car in to a Nissan dealer where they told me it would be $200 to hook their machine us to read the code to even begin the diagnostic process I've been told them that this is reported on line time after time again specifically on the 2008 and 2009 models and I don't feel I should have to pay for them to hook up a machine to read the diagnostic code in which I had in my hand. After doing more research online I have had numbers between $300 and $2,000 be quoted for this part to fix the issue and according to most of the people that have said they paid to have it fixed at some point they came back and reissued new complaints on the same form that it does happen over and over again. How is Nissan not fixing an issue that makes their airbags disfuctinal and not deploy? I guess it takes some death and a lawsuit before it will get done.

8 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2014

There was an accident that occurred with this car and the passenger airbag did not deploy, which could have caused a major injury to the passenger. I have noticed that this a know issue with the 2008 Nissan rouge. The airbag sensor in not working and this is extremely dangerous especially, since an accident occurred. Nissan should be responsible to fix this issue, since they know they had problems with this model the year before.
