The dashboard airbag light is blinking and will not shut off. I have tried to reset it and it goes off but comes right back on. I have took it to an auto part shop for a diagnostic reading and no code comes up. I see on the internet where Nissan has recalled 2008 and 2010 Rogue for this problem but not the 2009.
A vehicle was purchased from pristine auto sales in hopkinsville, ky. Following the purchase, the vehicle was inspected by a licensed mechanic and he reported the following, "I/we ("licensed mechanic shop") inspected "owner's" 2009 Nissan Rogue VIN# xxxxx today due to her hearing grinding when applying her brake to stop and the vehicle is pulling to the left when applying the brake to stop. I also noticed the airbag light is on as well. Upon inspection the brake pads, the pads in the rear of the vehicle are metal to metal (on the inside) and the front pads are 1mm thick. According to NHTSA vehicles should not be on the road or even be sold from a dealer with brake pads any thinner than 3mm. It is a major safety concern as it will cause an accident. Also, after inspecting why the airbag light was on, it is found that one or more of the occupant sensors are defective and therefor causing the airbag system to be disabled. In the event of an accident the airbag system will not work. It is also against NHTSA for a vehicle to be sold with a defective safety system such as airbag system. " the issues were present upon purchase. The purchaser is not knowledgeable about vehicles. Given that the vehicle was sold with the safety concerns already present, it appears that this auto sale business is not in compliance with NHTSA and mechanic has spoken with the business and they were unwilling to cooperate to ensure repairs were made on vehicle.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000.
Airbag malfunction light flashes on dashboard. Passenger side airbag deactivated light lit next to gear shift. Have been told that OCS sensor in the passenger seat has malfunctioned.
The passenger side airbag indicator light flashes continually on the dash and stays illuminated on the console. This same issue was recalled for the 2008 and 2010 Nissan Rogues but for some reason not the 2009. My vehicle only has 62,000 miles on it currently and this is a safety issue.
The airbag light comes on and does not turn off.

The airbag light turned on and wouldn’t turn off.
My car honk is no longer working, the technician checked the fuse box but did not see any issues.
Takata recall - flashing air bag dash light renders the air bag system susceptible to failure. Exact same issue with 2008 and 2010 model Nissan Rogue covered under recall. Why not 2009 model?! issue a recall for 2009 model Nissan Rogue to fix this issue by year end.
Passenger air bag warning lamp on drivers dash lit and is on while driving and will come back on with restart too. Can not clear. Happens when driving and stopped. It is not clock spring trouble it is a known problem recalled on all Rogues receipt 2009.
Exact same issue as for ntb08-095 recall affecting 2008 Nissan Rogue but called Nissan and they do not cover this for the 2009. Ocu malfunction code b1018.
The passenger side air bag indicator has been on since 2019, was not aware I could report it here. I have not taken it to a dealership because I can't afford to have it fixed. In 2018, I had to replace the cv joint and front rocker arms. A piece was cracked, and when I would turn I would hear a loud pop & ticking sound from the front passenger side tire area. Again I paid over 1500. 00 to have it repaired, I no longer have the photographs or the actual parts.
Takata recall the air bag device signal keep blinking this "takata air bag is what"s happening to my car as well. This is said to be very dangerous. I need to be safe while driving this car.
My airbag passenger side light on the dash and on the right hand side of the vehicle came on at 100,000. This made me research recalls. I can not believe all the recalls for this problem except for 2009. Even though the car was built in 2008. I guess we are going to wait until people die until this will be done. We are to pay for it when this was a known problem. I really like my Nissan but I can not put my family at risk of being hurt or even killed. I will not repurchase a Nissan again. I guess it is cheaper to not fix it than to pay out settlements. The vehicle was never in an accident. Or hit a big bump.
I can't get the airbag to stop flashing. I've been to an automotive shop twice. They reset it and then it begins flashing within days.
Takata recall. After the crash the airbag went out but not inflated. I was on a highway and because of a water bump the vehicle moves and crash with the highway division throwing the vehicle to the emergency lane and stoped inmediately. After that I removed very easy the airbag and walk away from the vehicle . Seatbelts locked.
"takata recall" my passanger seat belt light has been on for the pass 6 months. No accidents, car was stationary. I have no problems yet, but I read on other websites that this is a common problem I n the 2009 Nissan Rogue and that it is expensive to get fixed. If this is because of a manufacturer defect, I would like it fixed by a Nissan dealership for free.
The light of the airbag turn on at the dame time that the controls of the steering wheel dont work to change the radio station and the light of the ab still always on.
Vehicle lost acceleration while changing lanes and crashed with another faster car.
The electrical unit that controls the passenger air bag, located in the right passenger seat, has been found to be in nonworking order by the dealer and dealer claims there is no active recall regarding that malfunction. For the dealer to replace said part would cost the owner $2000.
