With no prior warning as I was coming up my driveway and turned to go into the garage, suddenly, without warning, my car would not move forward when the accelerator was pushed.
I was on a city street and when I accelerate the rpm's shoot up to 6,000/7,000 with no power and then drops back off to 1,000. Almost as if I had floored the accelerator but without doing so.
Driving on highway/ expressway 70 mph when car suddenly stops accelerating and drops to 20 mph. Foot pressed down to floor and will not move. Car will not drive up hills after driving for 30 minutes or more on highway.
It started as just a cracking noise only when turning the steering wheel to make turns and took it to 2 different mechanics but neither could figure out what is was so now my car is parked til I can come up with almost 700 to 800 dollars to have the cv axels and more replaced .
2011 Rogue with 118,000 miles that has great maintenance just stopped accelerating on I 25. Continued not to accelerate in town. Service manager said I need a new transmission. 2008-2010 transmission were recalled. Why wasn't this 2011 transmission recalled? dangerous situation at any speed.
While driving up a steep hill the transmission went into safe mode to protect the transmission from overheating. When this happened I was almost rear ended by a truck going much faster. Nissan is aware of the problem but has not address it. A better cooler should clear up this problem.
At 135,000 miles the vehicle hesitated to accelerate to 50 and refused to accelerate past 60 during a 2. 5 hour drive to atlanta, GA from columbia, SC. We replaced an engine sensor and spark plugs hoping to remedy the issue. However, the car continued to have issues with acceleration and then began shaking when tge hfs pedal was dexpressed at all. A few weeks later, the car cut off as my teenage son (driving with me and younger siblings as passengers) was attempting to make a left turn (from a standstill after 30 minutes of driving) on back highways during a nearly 2 hour drive. We pulled to the side of the road and eventually the car became driveable, but allowed acceleration of only 35 mph. It took us an added hour to get home. Following that, the vehicle continued to refuse acceleration beyond 60 and began shaking between 35 and 40 mph. A diagnostic test showed an issue with the transmission. The shaking has became more severe and now atbv138,000 the car wont start at all. Further research shows this is very common problem with the 2011 Rogue. This safety issue could have resulted in extreme bodily harm or death when the car initially shut down.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue sv. The contact stated that while attempting to depress the gas pedal the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle had to be to towed to dealer ron bouchard's Nissan 490 old union turnpike, lancaster, MA 01523 where they stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 165,000. Am.
Just bought this 2011 Nissan rouge from a private party and right after purchase took it to a Nissan dealer where I was told that I need a new transmission that prompted me to do some more research that there are lots of rouge with the same problem (bad transmission) including a close person who has a 2016 rouge whose transmission had to be replaced already (2016 really Nissan!!!) Nissan will not do anything.
At only seven years and 84,000 miles the transmission is bad. The Nissan dealer told me that the transmission needs replacing and not to drive far. This is a serious problem with Nissan Rogue's and has happened to many other Nissan owners. After research I found that one owner was on the third transmission, the dealer will not replace again because it is out of warranty. There is no recall therefore leaving owners with a hugh expense and an unsafe, undrivable vehicle. This should be recalled and replaced as many times as needed. It seems as though Nissan is not fixing this transmission issue and is just replacing the same defective transmission.
Loss of acceleration with no warning lights there is a service bulletin of this issue ntb16-090. This car with no warning dropped from 60 mph on a highway to a drift, enough to me to get off of the road but only because I was going down a slight grade. Lucky for me there was not traffic or I would have been rear ended because it was a drastic change in speed in seconds. With my foot on the gas it just became a winding sound. Off the side of the road, car would not go in drive or reverse. I turned it off for awhile and called Nissan dealer and was able to start the car but only to move it further off the road before same issue started again. Vehicle had 1 owner prior to me and had documented regular maintenance/service through the dealership at which it was purchased.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle lost acceleration, even when the gas pedal was depressed. No warning indicators illuminated. The contact coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle the following day was towed to the dealer Nissan of silsbee at 3490 highway 96 bypass, sislsbee texas 77656, they determined that the vehicle had an electrical transmission issue caused by metal shavings. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Bp.
Cvt transmission gets too hot and will suddenly lose power after about 2 hours of driving on the interstate. Press the gas pedal all the way down rpms will rev up but no acceleration. Complete power loss going up hill with the pedal to the floor, only going 10 mph and decreasing, this is very dangerous with traffic going 70 plus. Once it is cooled you can pull out going about 5 mph and slowly increasing to about 40 mph only to lose power again with rpms racing and no acceleration.
While driving at approximately 70 mph on the PA turnpike in the middle lane of traffic, my 2011 Rogue completely lost power & dropped the speed instantly. I was lucky to be able to glide into the shoulder without being hit--cars and tractor trailers were flying by all around me. This is a serious safety issue. This issue is related to the cvt transmission which Nissan is aware of, yet has not recalled the vehicles with this problem. Nissan extended the warranty for 2008-2010 vehicles, but did nothing to recall later model Rogues. The Nissan dealership was given a service bulletin (reference ntb16-090) detailing "2011-2015 Rogue reduced performance due to cvt fluid temperature protection logic" when I took my Rogue to the dealership, the service advisor said the Rogue will have a loss of performance and will not accelerate in response to pressing on the gas pedal if the "outside air temperature is 80 and you are driving in a hilly area". My wife & I could have been killed on the highway due to a defect in the cvt that Nissan knew about but did not notify current owners. The Nissan dealership recommended a "fix" which is to install an "auxiliary transmission cooler" at my own cost in excess of $1,000. Nissan needs to recall all vehicles with a cvt or cover the cost of the "fix" and guarantee the "fix".
The cvt transmission has gone into fail/safe mode 4 different times which restricts the vehicles ability to accelerate and limits the speed. 1st problem occurred in oct 2015 with 33,100 miles. When driven on the interstate,1 1/2 into drive car would not accelerate and I could not keep up with traffic. I contacted 2 dealerships lokey & courtesy that had no explanation, because no warning lights were on that meant there was not a problem. The 2nd problem i4 again. Very frightening again, asked Nissan dealer. Again, no warning light no issue. April 2018. I was on i75 s when the vehicle suddenly began to lose speed. I knew what was happening and pulled over. A warning light did eliminate. I was not able to sustain 45 mph and stopped. I looked at the manual, it looked like a misfire or emission issue. No big deal, okay to keep driving per manual. If continue, see dealer. I did not know Nissan knew about this issue since 2008. I drove my car home back to tampa at 9 pm. Had I been notified that this issue was not normal I would have had it towed home. 10;30pm I was on i75 n not able to maintain 45 mph. I was in a very dangerous situation. I was going 45 in a 70!! I had 1 idiot tail me for 1. 7 miles. I was put in that situation by Nissan. I bought this car because the salesman fooled me into thinking I was buying a safe car. It is the opposite. Why is this acceptable. Nissan extended the warranty for 2008-2010 but not 2011??? 2011 clearly has the same issue. My car showed issues at 33,100 under warrantty but the dealer purposefully did not disclose the danger. I just paid $4589. 00 to have my transmission rebuilt. Only to have it break down within an hour of picking it up. Defective bearing. My car has been out of use for 1 week and counting. Nissan fails to help me nor take responsibility for the dangerous and potentially deadly situation. Nissan ripping us off. Stop now!!.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving about 75 mph, the vehicle decelerated to 60 mph, with warning. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken the Nissan of north olmsted dealer (440-734-6900, located at 28500 lorain rd, north olmsted, OH 44070) where the technician recommended a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was provided a case number and was told that there was no recall. The failure was not diagnosed and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000. Fe.
Daughter was driving the car on city street and transmission broke had 97000 miles on it my wife bought car brand new. Car has never been treat rough just normal driving. Nissan does not want to own up to that they have a problem with the bad design inside the transmission. Asked for help on getting transmission replaced got told Nissan don't have a problem.
Purchased a certified pre-owned 2011 Nissan Rogue in 2013. Ever since I owned the vehicle it would intermittently pop out of gear and would then reengage into gear and accelerate on the highway and city roadways. When I would accelerate from 20mph to higher speeds the car would jump as if the brakes were stuck. Apparently the cvt transmission was defective and Nissan is now indicating to me that although the later model year cars were given an extended warranty for the faulty cvt transmission my car is not covered. I have spoken to them to file complaints, but nothing has been done. There are an outstanding number of complaints regarding their cvt transmissions, but they do not want to cover the 2011's. Now I will have to replace entire transmission at a cost of approximately $4,000. 00. This should not happen to car with approximately 100,000 miles that has been serviced and care for regularly. The car completely stopped accelerating on me on a one lane road with a speed limit of 45 mph that has a lot of traffic. I had to coast to a stop on a half shoulder and wait there until help could arrive.
I had bought in the car with 33,004 miles on it from destination Nissan out of albany new york I now have 92,000 miles and the transmission went bad from Nissan I even contacted the bbb and no help I was only able to put 59,700 miles on this car I still have two years to pay on it the transmission went out with no notice no lights came on driving down the road and the highway at 70 miles an hour lost power had to pull off the side of the road I feel it's very dangerous someone's going to get hurt or killed they have recalls for the 2008 and 2010 for the same issue with their cvt transmissionsand they gave an extended warranty for 120,000 miles or 10 years and the vehicles I feel that they didn't do anything with the 2011 so I don't think that the cvt transmission was any different that they had put in the other ones that they put in the 2011 and therefore I feel they should have to take care of the people I've paid over $25,000 for this car and I still have two years to pay on it I don't feel that at 59,000 miles I have my driving I should have to replace a transmission I will never purchase another Nissan again and I will make sure that I tell people never to po and they gave an extended warranty for 120,000 miles or 10 years and the vehicles I feel that they didn't do anything with the 2011 so I don't think that the cvt transmission was any different that they had put in the other ones that they put in the 2011 and therefore I feel they should have to take care of the people I've paid over $25,000 for this car and I still have two years to pay on it I don't feel that at 59,000 miles I have driving I should have to replace a transmission I will never purchase another Nissan again and I will make sure that I tell people never buy a Nissan they do not take care of their customers.
My wife was driving this Nissan Rogue 2011 and it stopped moving. I had it towed to a Nissan dealer only to find out that the transmission was shot and needed to be replaced. It only had 55,296 miles on it at the time. This occurred on 11/21/2017. Fortunately this did not occur on a highway, but rather on a local street. I know that Nissan doubled the warranries on the cvt transmissions on the 2008 to 2010 Rogues, but not on anything after that. What a bummer!! evidently they did not fix their problems. .
2011 Nissan Rogue, driving on the road, loosing power and no respond by pushing the gas pedal all the way to the floor, and on respond from the car. 50000 miles. Nissan told me to take it to dealership and have it checked. Dealer said it is transmission cooler and close to $2000 to fix it. Nissan now is refusing to pay for it. These cvt transmissions are piece of junks, and they know it too, but they keep putting this junk defect cvt design on their vehicles. . They have extended their warranty on 2008 , 2009, and 2010 to 120000 miles or 10 years, so that means they are aware of the problem, but why not on 2011. What a difference ?. 2011 has the same transmission as 2008, 2009, and 2010. Government needs to make them to fix every bad cvt transmission, and Nissan needs to stop building this of crap . Other auto dealerships are laughing at Nissan with their cvt transmission design. How many complaints it takes for Nissan to get after it. Their customer service is terrible and not helpful at all.
I was on the thruway/highway and my rpms got higher and higher, even though my cruise control was on. Engine was revving up, and suddenly lost power to the car, even though the gas pedal was to the ground. Thankfully, traffic was slow and I was lucky. I pulled over and called geico for a tow truck.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. While traveling various speeds, the vehicle experienced stalling and a lack of acceleration. The failure occurred without warning. Bob howard Nissan (132000 broadway ext, oklahoma city, ok) was contacted and diagnosed that the transmission cooler was defective and needed to be replaced. An independent mechanic was contacted and diagnosed that the cvt transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The vehicle required a new transmission at 86k miles. Unable to be repaired. There was a lack of acceleration and stuttering.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost all power without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by two independent mechanics who diagnosed the failure as being related to the transmission, and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a Nissan dealer. The contact made an appointment with sandy sansing Nissan (5705 pensacola blvd, pensacola, FL 32505 (850) 378-3391). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 85,537.
My 7 year old Nissan rouge started losing acceleration when I put my foot on the gas, talk about scary and dangerous. No warning lights came on. I took it to a local mechanic and he told me my transmission needed to be replaced. If I travel on the interstate at speeds between 65-75 mph for more than two hours the transmission shuts down and will not shift after coming to a complete stop, regardless of stopping on a hill or flat ground.
The contact's mother owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning twice while driving. After the vehicle was restarted and the gear shifter was placed in drive, the vehicle failed to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the cvt needed to be replaced. The dealer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 132,000.
We purchased a 2011 Nissan Rogue at the end of 2010, and it was a good car in the beginning, however, I started to notice small things here and there that weren't that great. But they would come and go. Then one day I opened the left rear door handle, and it broke off!! it looked like a cheap piece of plastic you see at the dollar store. I took it to Nissan and they wanted $550!!! ridiculous! I found a good honest mechanic place and they even reduced the cost since it only took them 15 mins to replace it! only costed me $80! so now and again it has also been losing rpms and having difficulty speeding up. My husband was driving from work and on the freeway, and the rpms stopped at 4000 and froze. I wouldn't go over 60mph! he was scared and pulled over to the side of the road. He checked the oil (it was perfect), the inside and saw nothing. He said he smelt a fire type smell while in the inside of the car, but no fires. He slowly got over and pulled off of the freeway and into a car place to have it looked at. I called Nissan as the technician stated that there was a recall on the nisan Rogue. I called Nissan and they stated that it was the 2010 Rogue. Mine is the 2011 Rogue which was purchased at the end of 2010. So I am suppose to believe that they somehow put a better cvt transmission in my Rogue which is not that far off from the 2010 that has an extended warranty and recall on it?? hardly, I have seen many many other complaints from people about this vehicle and exact year. I've even called about our Rogue a few times when I've heard about recalls, but they've always told me it's only 2010 and my car should be fine. Obviously it's not fine, and the car is crap. Nissan should stand by their products , and they are not . They will continue to lose good customers that are hard working americans who pay their bills.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated rapidly without warning. The vehicle was taken to gates Nissan of richmond, kentucky where the transmission was replaced; however, the dealer stated that the failure would not be fully resolved until a cooler was placed inside the transmission. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the part needed (cooler) was not included in the extended warranty of the vehicle. The failure mileage was 106,000.
Takata recall was driving and the rpm's went way up and then came back down then the car would not go over 20 mpg no matter how much gas was given. Was driving on a normal road straight not turning.
A couple of times while driving the car stop suddenly without any warning and the engine slowly died. This is quite worrying because I am not sure how I would cope on a busy interstate road.
The car stalls, won't accelerate, and ramps rpm when slowing down. The transmission was replaced by Nissan with an extended warranty at 52k miles, and now needs replacing again. The dealer states the transmission has overheated 91 times on this vehicle and also needs a transcooler added. I notice 141 complaints on this site for the same problem, but no investigation. The '08, '09, '10 models have all had their warranties extended. This is a serious safety hazard on a highway when vehicle will not accelerate. Someone is going to be hit from behind, as the driver has no way to keep a steady acceleration, or slow the rpm unless the car is turned off and restarted. Nissan should replace all transmissions in the Rogue.
Takata recall I would like to inform everyone of our issue on our 2011 Nissan Rogue. While driving on the freeway we lost all power in an instant. This is not safe! we also saw the issue of not being able to accelerate and even when on cruise control it completely falling off due to lack of power.
I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue and as I was driving down the interstate with my daughter I lost all power to my transmission and was almost hit from the back by a semi. I have had nothing but issues with my transmission loosing power and being stranded with my 5 year old. Nissan needs to take accountability for this and get this taken care of.
Vehicle loses power going up a mountain at a 40 degree angle for more than 5 miles. Vehicle stalls loses power and stalls to a conplete stop. When driven on a flat even surface vehicle has a very sluggish and jerking movement that makes the vehicle lose power and decelerates. Vehicle has loss of power when reversing and makes a very loud noise doing so.
