1 Transfer Case problem

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. While driving 45 mph, the contact heard an abnormal popping sound. In addition, the transmission experienced a hard shift and went into limp mode. The contact was unable to drive above 20 mph. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the gears in the transfer case fractured and there were metal shavings in the transmission fluid. The vehicle was not repaired. Apple Nissan (located at 1510 whiteford rd, york, PA 17402, (717) 755-9504) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was also notified. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.
