Driver side rear door lock electrical actuator will not lock or unlock the door. Door has to be manually unlocked. In the event of an emergency, it will delay the egress of a passenger in the rear seat. The issue would make it near impossible to unlock the door in an emergency especially if it were submerged in water. This is a safety issue and has occurred on a number of these Nissan vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and then turning off the vehicle and entering the residence, the contact then attempted to restart the vehicle, and the vehicle failed to restart. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was unable to roll down the windows. The contact was assisted with jumpstarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while the vehicle was stopped at a stop sign, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and then stalled. The vehicle failed to restart, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was unable to move over to the side of the road. The contact called a family member for a jumpstart. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not inspected or diagnosed. The contact stated that the failure persisted. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to a manufacturer’s campaign related to the body control module (bcm). Most recently, the contact stated that the rearview camera displayed a distorted image or a black screen while the vehicle was in reverse(r). The contact stated that the failure obstructed the driver's visibility, which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. The contact turned off the vehicle and waited for several minutes before restarting the vehicle. The contact stated that the rear camera would then reboot. The contact stated that while using the key fob, the doors or liftgate failed to lock securely. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.
