2008-13 Nissan Rogue/2014 Rogue select (s35) driver’s kick panel harness connector inspection voluntary safety recall campaign reference: r1421 I spoke with Nissan and the recall does not cover my VIN number however I had previously owned a 2015 Nissan altima and experienced the same issue. My car will be serviced on 2/24/26 with a Nissan dealership in hampton, va for repairs related to this issue. My daughter drives the car while she is away at college. The issue began a few weeks ago when snow and rain occurred and now the bluetooth is going out and now the check engine light appears. I'm pretty certain this VIN should be included in the recall previously issued. The car maybe out of warranty but this appears to be a manufacturer related problem. I'm attaching current video.

I was stationary at a red light, and car traveling behind me at full speed (approximately 50-60 mph) did not stop and crashed into my car (rear-ending me). My airbags did not deploy: not even the side airbags, even though the trunk was crashed/pushed up into the middle of the car, damaging the side supports between the front and back seats. Also, the driver's seat reclined fully upon impact! this car has electric adjustable seats, so the seat has a mechanized gear that faulted.

The driver’s seat heating element appears to have failed and caused the seat material to burn. The damaged seat and its components are still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. The malfunction caused the seat to catch fire while the vehicle was in use, creating a risk of burns, smoke inhalation, and a potential full vehicle fire. This posed a significant danger to my safety and the safety of any passengers. Not yet. The issue has not been reproduced, but the physical damage clearly indicates a failure of the heating element. I am planning to have it evaluated by a dealer or an independent service center. Not yet. No inspection has been done so far by Nissan, law enforcement, or insurance, but I intend to contact my insurance provider and the dealership for official inspection and documentation. There were no warning lights, messages, or unusual symptoms before the failure occurred. The fire started suddenly while the seat heater was in use.
Driver seat moves forward when brakes are applied - yes the seat and vehicle can be available anytime for inspection. When ever the brakes are applied the driver seat moves towards the steering wheel and windshield. I am concerned the seat will fail altogether and slam me into the windshield and steering wheel. It is not locked into place or something else is failing. Jeff wyler dealership in fairfield ohio provide an estimate of $2400 to replace the railings. I see this issue is occurring with other 2020 Rogues according to the internet. There is a recall for the 2021, 2022 and 2023 models for the issue. No lights or warnings on now or prior. We bought the vehcile used from a dealer in Nov 2025 and this occurred shortly thereafter. It is possible the dealer know about this issue and did not to fix or divulge to customer.
The heating element in the drivers seat of my 2023 Nissan Rogue shorted out, and started on fire while I was driving. The drivers seat became unbearably hot in less than 4 minutes, I began smelling hot electrical, and by the time I began to pull over, the driver seat was smoking underneath my legs. I could visibly see the white fibers inside of the seat start glowing red as a small hole began to melt between my thighs. I immediately turned the heated seats off and pulled over to exit the car. I have minor burning on the bottom and inside of my thighs. The fire department came to assess and do thermal imaging. It was determined the seats heating element shorted out. There was no warning lights indicating any issues prior to the incident. The heated seats light did begin to flash after the incident.

The driver seat in the 2025 Nissan Rogue is extremely narrow and places excessive pressure on my left hip, causing bruising, severe discomfort, and lower back pain after short driving periods. The seat forces my body into an unnatural posture that affects my ability to sit upright and operate the vehicle safely. After I reported the issue to the dealership, I was told to “keep driving until the seat flattens out” or “have a heavy-set person sit in the seat,” which are not safe or reasonable solutions. The seat design is causing physical injury and makes safe driving difficult.

I had been complaining about a knocking noise ever since I purchased my 2015 Nissan Rogue in March 2022. Even prior to officially purchasing this vehicle, I even paid texas Nissan to fully inspect it due to the knocking. Except for some minor wear and tear items discovered, texas Nissan gave the vehicle a good bill of health. So, I went ahead and purchased the vehicle from gtubbs Infiniti. However the knocking got louder and more consistent. In March 2023, February 2025 and may 2025, I returned the vehicle to texan Nissan to complain about the noise. On the later date, texas Nissan finally informs me of a sway bar being broken, contol arm bushing being torn, and they also "found excessive play on front driver side seat frame. " I have never notice this kind of vibration in the seat before. However, when I mentioned that the seat frame is under recall, sean burreal at texas Nissan, responded that my VIN did not qualify for the recall. I don't understand why the recall wouldnt apply to my vehicle since its affirmative that the defect exists on my vehicle per texas Nissan. (I have a video of the defect). This all seems so suspicious.
Driver seat moves back and forth while driving, speed control goes wild while driving, transmission does keep gear nor speed level . . Leaking out of motor while the car is turned off after driving for a couple of minutes. . Key jackknife is very week. . The safety issues of this vehicle is very scary wrote a letter to Nissan never hear back to to dealship and they were unable to help me. . Car still under extended warranty but no one wants to honor it. . Very sad. . Please help I can’t afford another car, can barely afford this one. .
My drivers seat moves, the back is breaking off of the bottom, as I drive the seat moves and is breaking. This is a big safety issue. I took it to Nissan and they want to charge me over $5000. 00 for parts to replace the finisher, the track/ frame and the seat back. This is a 2018 vehicle, driven by a small female, with 68,000 miles. This did not break, it is a defect, and Nissan should have to look at it and repair it. 2023 Rogues have a recall for exactify what is happening to my seat, I saw a recall for 2016 and 2014 Rogues for a seat issue as well. I believe my car has a safety defect and Nissan is not willing to help me.
After an oil change at a certified Nissan dealership, the left rear seat belt sensor was indicating on the dash board that someone was sitting in there and was strapped, so the light had a green check, but there was no one in that seat plus the seat belt was not even strapped. The next day, the front passenger seat belt also went awry. With no one in the seat, the seat belt sensor started beeping which means it believed someone was in that seat unstrapped, but again, no one was in it. I have only ownes the car for 4 months, the car is clean and there is no debris in the seat belt latch system. There is definitely something wrong with the seatbelt sensors.
The drivers seat failed (mechanic's words) from the report, "seat rivets loose can not tighten. Will need to replace seat frame. " this puts my safety at risk because in an accident, the seat could come off, causing me to go through the windshield, crush injuries, the seat collapsing and being thrown backwards into back seat passengers in the event of getting rear ended. If the seat that I am seat belted in to detaches from the frame, none of the other safety features will matter. Airbags will be useless as will the seatbelt. When I had my oil changed on January 25, 2025, I asked them to check the drivers seat because it was moving slightly. I noticed the movement the week before. I assumed a bolt may be loose for some reason and needed to be tightened. I was shocked when they told me the seat frame failed and could not be fixed. I needed a new seat frame. I had another mechanic tell me to call Nissan because it had to be a manufacturer defect. It was not caused by wear and tear and is not normal. In researching this online, I found other people that have Nissan Rogues that have also had a problem with the driver's seat being loose and/or moving a bit. I did not report this to my insurance because I don't think I should have to pay for it. My car is less than 5 years old and only has around 42,000 miles on it. I contacted Nissan. After they investigated, they offered to pay 70% of the replacement cost. At first, I agreed but after rethinking it, I don't think I should have to pay over $400 to fix a problem that I didn't cause. There was no warning light. This is what I found online~no, a failing front seat frame in a newer Nissan Rogue is not considered normal and could indicate a serious safety issue, as Nissan has issued recalls for certain Rogue models due to potential problems with seat frame welding, which could affect occupant safety in a crash; if you suspect your Rogue's front seat frame is failing, you should immediately contact your Nissan dealer to chec.
While I'm driving collision sensors activate with no reason and when they activate sometimes stops abruptly and locks it's self; doesn't allow me to go back or forward.
My 2015 Rogue and the issue that I have been experiencing with my drivers seat loose/ rocking while driving. I've done research and was told this is a common issue with 2015 models. I feel this is a safety concern that it moves while driving especially for myself or other. When a seat moves it changes the pressure you use with the pedals. This is a true safety concern and im not sure why this hasnt been addressed sooner. I'm very frustrated with this manufacturing issue and getting no help from the company or dealership. This issues has been verified by 3 different dealers/ autobody shops and numerous of research stating this is a common issue.
There is an airbag warning for the front passenger seat occupancy sensor.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the front passenger's side air bag and seat belt warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the front passenger's side seat sensor was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer contacted the manufacturer, and the manufacturer advised the dealer that the front passenger's seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,191.
Passenger side air bag inoperable, have been told it was sensor in seat.
Driver's seat is clicking and moving the driver back and forth in place while in operation. Also, the seat clicks upon stop and go acceleration, when weight is shifted and/or car breaks for a stop. Driver's seat is unsecure and has multiple movements as if the seat is trying to latch in place all while in driving operation. -2020 Nissan Rogue -.
Driver’s seat failed at the weld. It was squeaking and sliding back and forth a fraction of an inch at starts and stops. It was quite distracting for the driver and passengers thereby creating unsafe conditions. There were no warning lamps. This seat was confirmed by the dealer service center to have failed.
My air bag warning light is flashing on and off. I’m told by my repair man that the air bag is defective and the entire passenger seat needs to be replaced.

Good evening, I’m not sure if I’m doing this correctly. The reason I’m writing this letter is because my wife was currently driving a Nissan Rogue 2016 sv until we purchased a new car this year. I cannot recall exactly when I started to hear the noise or feel my driver seat on my Nissan Rogue rocking back when accelerating and rocking forward when pressing the brakes normally. I verify my VIN number to see if there a was a recall for my vehicle because I thought Nissan sent an email pertaining to certain Rogues were having seat issues. I took my Nissan Rogue to bill seidle’s Nissan in miami to get my regular maintenance and I ask them to check my driver’s seat. My Rogue had 85,056 when I took it to the dealer on 10/9/2023. The dealer stated the driver seat had excessive play because of the railings. This repair will cost $1,747. 57 parts and labor. The price of the seat frame ranges from $1,200. 00 to $1,400. 00. I do not know what the threshold for a vehicle is to be place under recall list, however I do think, and investigation should start with the 2016 Nissan Rogue. There are blogs regarding the driver’s seat of the Nissan Rogue with the same problem that I have. I did reach out to Nissan customer support however I lost my case number. My concern is what happens if I get rear ended. How much does my weight affects the frame or the railing. Is the railing week from the manufacturer and as a consumer I have to $1,700. 00. Leandro hernandez 786-253-1657 thank you,.

The vehicle was taken to the same dealer three times, where the computer programming was reset. Additionally the dealer test drove the vehicle for approximately 400 miles. However they were unable to replicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,288.
Passenger air bag lite does not detect person in seat. Have seen this recall but told by VIN number doesn't qualify even though it is same problem. $3100 to fix.
Purchased a new 2018 Nissan Rogue. Purchased the Nissan gold warranty for 7 hrs and 100,000 miles. Recently the drivers seat came very loose and was moving all directions making driving dangerous. Took the vehicle to the Nissan dealer we purchased from for repair. They reported the seat frame’ s rivets had broken and failed. Then they informed us the problem was not under warranty. Cost to repair was to be 1,600 to replace the entire seat frame. The vehicle was less than 5 hrs old and mileage of 63k. Also I was told by Nissan personal that the problem was well known and a frequent safety concern, but Nissan corporation is refusing to repair or replace the seat frame, even under a very comprehensive extended warranty. I researched this type of complaint and yes it is a common problem that could lead to serious accidents. I am asking you to research this and order Nissan to fix the problems.

Front passenger seat airbag sensors failed. Airbag light continues to stay on. Dealer rest and sensors failed again several days later. Dealer estimated $6,000+ for repair.
In the past, I complained many times that the car was flooded and the driver's seat was shaking. After multiple inspections at the maintenance department of Nissan dealers, the cause of the problem is not uniform, and the service quality is extremely poor. It has not been solved until now, because water often enters the car and the glass produces fog that affects the vision. I am facing danger every day when I drive. I complained again today and hoped to resolve it completely.

This is about driver seat making click noise under the seat whenever you break or start from a stop(accelerate from stopped position). The same click noise during driving if you break and accelerate. Its similar to noise if you click seat belt. Its something wrong going within the seat itself or seat assembly to the car's body. The seat railing itself looks good. When showed to dealer they saying some coins or objects stuck , but there are no objects stuck at railing. Found same complaints by many owners in the internet. I feel the seat may compromise on any sudden stop/break or if any accident. No other seats giving this click noise. No warning lamps on the dashboard.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? code: b1018, OCS sensor failure in passenger seat which controls the passenger airbags. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? passenger side airbag light kicks on thinking there is a "child" or something light in the front seat which disables the airbag. This is a known issue of the manufacturer but yet the refuse to include other years of these vehicles in their recall. There even has been a lawsuit on their "fix" because they just continue to use the same sensors even when replacing the recalled vehicles sensors. They also expect you to pay 2700 to replace an entire seat cushion to replace said sensor. I am sorry but poor people do not have that kind of money laying around. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes was reproduced and confirmed by a local Nissan deal. They even cleared the code and within 2 weeks it appeared again in the same way/format. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? air bag warning light and the passenger side airbag light kicks on thinking there is a "child" or something light in the front seat which disables the airbag.
