2 Sun/moon Roof Assembly problem of the 2022 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/14/2024

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph with the a/c unit set to 70 degrees, she observed a loud bang emanating from the roof of the vehicle. The contact opened the sunroof visor and noticed the glass sunroof was missing. Simultaneously that contact glanced in her rear view mirror and observed glass shards falling from the roof of the vehicle on incoming traffic. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and inspected. The vehicle was taken to a collision center where it was determined that the sunroof needed to be replaced after exploding and shards of glass blew under the rubber strip that holds the panoramic glass in. Additionally, the collision center rep stated that the hood, lift gate and side doors sustained minor damage from the shards. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,614.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the contact heard a loud, abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the sound sounded like a gunshot. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home and inspected the vehicle and could not find any damage. The next day upon shutting the door, the contact heard broken glass rattling on her sunroof and discovered that a large middle section of the panoramic sunroof had shattered without incident. The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the panoramic glass roof exploded. The contact continued driving to his residence, where he taped a cardboard over the roof. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and it was diagnosed with needing the panoramic glass roof to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired however, the repair was still pending. The contact stated that the doors were closed and locked securely; however, the vehicle had been stolen and had been moved several times because it appeared anyone with a compatible key fob to the year, make, and model of the vehicle could unlock or move the vehicle. Failure Date: 05/12/2017

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that there was water leaking inside the vehicle through the sunroof. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the drain was clogged up. The drain was unclogged; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that her husband had informed her that the vehicle had shut off temporarily, and the rear wheels had locked up temporarily while driving.
