Good day! this is a report about a product/manufacturer safety issue! we recently purchased a 2024 Nissan Rogue awd vehicle. Shortly after the purchase, we were driving here in tennessee on a divided highway with left and right turn lanes. In this scenario, we were driving around a right hand curve in the road at 55 mph behind another vehicle in cruise control. The sensor was set at the lowest level of distance between the vehicle in front and our vehicle, which is still pretty far back. But as we were going into the right hand curve, there was also a left turn lane that another car was entering. This car in the turn lane was going significantly much slower as it was preparing to turn left, but the problem started at this point of the scenario. As the car in front of me cleared the sensor in the right hand curve curved away from the front of my vehicle, the sensor apparently picked up the car in the turn lane, which became the car directly in front of me, and an immediately sensed obstacle, going at a significantly slower rate speed and cause our car to automatically, rapidly, and startlingly apply the brakes to our vehicle, though we were still at a safe distance behind the car going around the curve in front of us. This not only caused a significant risk to us as we were trying figure out what was going on in a split second while trying to get to the side of the road thinking something was failing in our vehicle and was quickly becoming unsafe, but for the safety of the vehicle behind us who may have been surprised by the immediate and significant braking our vehicle was undertaking by the computer in the car, placing a higher risk for a rear ending when there was no risk in front of our vehicle. Add to that, if there were several vehicles behind us the potential for a domino effect crash.

The forward collision system randomly turns off while driving. Even in clear conditions (I understand that rain or snow may block the sensor).

I live in melbourne florida, when going to pick up the wife I turn on the adas as I was leaving the house and I got this message. Unavailable camera temperature high accompanied by the crash sign signal. This not only negated the blind spot warning, forward collision warning, lane departure warning but also then back-up camera. Also the sun also blocks the vision of the back-up camera dealer said it was in the sun to long, but when I told him the collision icon was on he said to make an appointment to have it looked at. Appointment is August 10. Question: if these are safety devises shouldn't the work all the time.

Pulling out of a dollar general store was hit by a truck causing sever vehicle damage. Air bags and collision avoidance did not work. Engine did not shut down was still running after collision, no warning lights came on. I had to shut the car off. Could not move the car frame was broken. Called nissain a couple of times was told a rep would look at it but it could take up to 6 weeks never got a follow up call. Hit my head on the steering wheel. Have not contacted a lawyer as of yet.
I was parked then backed up to proceed forward. There was a pole with a cemented base in the corner left as I accelerated I ran in to this pole. Peripherally I don’t know how I missed the pole however I do take accountability for that. What concerns me is my front collision system and forward emergency braking system failed and did not activate or message me in any way. In the past if I’ve come too close to a vehicle or object in front of me my vehicle lets me know messaging me on my screen, side mirrors and my vehicle has even braked itself. I have become reliant on this system and I no longer feel secure or safe knowing this system intermittently works. The dealership hart Nissan now victory Nissan I bought my 2021 Rogue from said that certain areas of the front bumper can miss objects. This is not safe and unacceptable. Additionally it is costing me a $2,000 deductible which is unaffordable on my disability income.
My forward collision sensor/alert disables after driving 2-3 miles. This problem began at 5500 miles and reoccurs every time driven. I visited the dealership who explained this is a known issue and there is no fix yet available. Nissan will likely issue a recall once the issue is fixed. The technician explained the issue could be a sensor issue or a software issue with this model.

Since my purchase of my Rogue 2. 5 years ago, it has randomly given a warning and braked out of nowhere. With no cars around, in front or behind, it was alarming. Since purchasing the car, this issue has occured, at least 15-20 random times, with the scariest being on the interstate. When the brakes slammed (out of my control) on the interstate, I was terrified a car behind me would rear end me. Luckily the car behind me was too far back but I could tell they were aggravated that I braked out of nowhere on the interstate. Dangerous! I plan on getting rid of this car after only 2 years!.

The fcw system would come on for no reason. I've had the car 3 months this had been a problem as well as other crash warnings of the vehicle during this time period. Then on may 31st I was in an accident that I should have gotten a warning as to to close but didn't. I had reported to the dealership I purchased car from but no information to help. I'm upset. I have read that this is an ongoing problem with the make, year, and model. Do I have any recourse to address to the maker, Nissan?.
Engine stumbles or even stalls out suddenly on acceleration, often at intersections, and then "forward collision warning sensor malfunction" flashes on the screen. Then, when accelerator is pressed further in an attempt to get the vehicle to move, the engine revs and vehicle lurches forward.

I was parked safely in a parking space with no vehicles around me and the car was clean when my front collision alert went off again and the malfunction warning light came on. Distance sensor was replaced. My vehicle is less than 2 years old and I continue to have faulty sensor issues.
Front collision sensor failed to alert the driver and stop the car resulting in a collision. Traveling speed just over 5 mph. Safety system was turned on and should have been operational. No warnings the sensor was dirty and not functioning properly.
These warning lights always come up-daily. No matter if it is hot or cold out. I am worried that they will not work if/when I actually needed them to. I am scheduling an appointment with Nissan. Nothing has been looked at on it besides my normal oil change/check ups. I have a 7 month old and it scares me that I am not in a safe vehicle.
The forward collision warning sensor went out while driving. Took it to granite Nissan in rapid city, sd. They replaced it after a year of waiting on the part. The day after it was repaired, it went out again. They said they have no idea on how to fix the problem. This issue is very dangerous when it is icy outside. When the sensor goes out the car is very unstable. You can only drive at 25 mph and that's pushing it. It seems like the car is trying to apply the brakes to all four wheels at once. The cruise control goes out and it is hard to maintain your speed with the pedal.
Front collision sensor goes off every once in awhile it seeming that there's a person in front of the vehicle when there's no one on the street and also it goes off when it rains or snows or it's foggy out it doesn't work.

Feb. 29,2024 I had a warning light come on that said "forward driving aids temporarily disabled front sensor blocked" when this message appears my cruise control is disabled. I contacted my dealer they had me bring it in, they said they fixed it. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs because the warning light was still coming on. They told me that it doesn't affect the performance of my vehicle & doesn't cause a safety issue. The light is still coming on.
Forward collision warning system will randomly locking up brakes. Vehicle starts to slide sideways, if someone is following closely this could set up a chain reaction. Vehicle was inspected at dealership, couldn’t duplicate. It has happened several times.

I was on my way at I-95 the vehicle in front of mine slowed down I also did the same and the one behind hit mine.
I have been having a problem with the forward collision warning on this car since I have had it new . It has been to the local dealer and still has not been fixed. The problem is when it get colder 35 to 50 degrees f out site it will stop working for about 30 to 45 min then start working again for 45 min to an hour then stop working again. During the time it does not work the speed control stops working and forward collision sensors do not work. I have reported this to the local dealer and it has been in the shop over 5 times about this. I was told it is a software problem.
Last year the car was taken to the local Nissan dealer, all of a sudden the car battery needs jump; it cost me 600 dollars and now the car is doing the same again; on the Nissan blog many 2018 Rogue owners experience the same issue. Also there are all kind of warning lights coming up in my instrument panel scheduled as collision warning, parking. Every time experience this I have taken the vehicle to a local Nissan dealer located in doral, florida. I have a 5 year old son and many times the car behaves erratic fearing for the life of my son and I, not to mentioned the times the vehicle won't start at a parking lot.
On December 18, 2023, on the masspike, inbound, at the morning rush hour, the traffic was in a hard stop for more than 1 hour (moving very slow bumper to bumper), after the brighton exit, whatever the reason of the traffic jam cleared and all the car speeded up. . . My Nissan Rogue sport accelerated a bit but them came to a very low speed (~ 10 mph). I checked whether I was in the right gear (it was: d), checked whether there was any dashboard error sign (there was not!); the car was very slow at a moment when all the cars near me where rushing. I truly though I could get rammed in the rear by cars trying to get to their destination. All cars were honking because I was at a very low speed (and I put on the emergency lights). I took the car for service at the marlborough Nissan (740 boston post rd e. Marlborough, massachusetts 01752) today (December 26 2023), but they claimed there was nothing wrong with the car. I can tell you that if Nissan does nothing to solve this problem, other cars of their brand will have a big problem. I don't know what the problem is, but there are several post in internet claiming this is a big issue: https://forums. Nicoclub. Com/problem-with-accelerating-t534026. Html https://forums. Nicoclub. Com/acceleration-problem-t495442-40. . Read more...
When driving the forward collision warning will flash and beep and immediately brake and causes the car to come to a complete stop, when there is nothing in front of the car. It could cause an accident. I believe the forward collision warning sensor has failed. This has happened several times and it’s not safe for me or others around. I’ve started turning off the forward collision to avoid being in a accident.

In the 5mph stop and go traffic of leaving a sloped parking garage, the brakes did not respond to repeated attempts to stop the Rogue. The brakes did not work with pumping them, hard pressure or light pressure. No collision warning alerts activated. (no beeping, lights or camera occurred as it usually does when an object is close to the vehicle. ) no emergency braking activated. The only thing that stopped the Rogue was the impact with the vehicle in front of me. There is damage to the front bumper as well as the rear bumper of the car I hit. I turned off the car for 2 minutes and turned it back on to move it out of the way of the traffic behind me. The brake function returned as normal as did the collision warning alerts. The Rogue was taken to the Nissan dealership from which I purchased it. They state that they are waiting for a Nissan representative specialist to come to the location to attempt to reproduce the issue and fix the problem. There have been zero previous incidents of any kind with this vehicle. I purchased it new in March, 2023. The insurance claim has been filed but no body repairs have been scheduled because the priority is the brake system failure.
My son financed a Nissan Rogue sport in Aug of 2023. He was in an accident in Nov of 2023. I have not spoken to him since. He spoke with some of my family members, told them the accident was his fault and he doesn't understand what happened. He said he just lost control while driving. I'm thinking it was the key fob, he's a very tall boy and the crash could have been a result of hitting the key fob while driving. I'm hoping there is a way to find that out. The dealership we got the car from wjk tempe Dodge. 7975 s autoplex loop tempe az 85284-1023. I tried calling them to get some info but got no responses. The vehicle is totaled and sits on the side of my home with a tarp over it. It has not had any type of assesments by insurance company because I am excluded from policy and registration. The police report# is 202301743047. Please help. My son's contact info is dominiq abraham deanda 480-401-6159 spazz_602@icloud. Com he is the primary driver of the vehicle, I am the primary buyer of the vehicle. Valerie renne vega 602-813-8918 valerievega2008@yahoo. Com.
Driving through an intersection that was empty. One car was 1,000 feet away in the other lane. The abs warning and triangle displayed on dashboard. Simultaneously the brakes engaged coming close to a full stop. No car near by. Then the brakes disengaged and we were able to drive with no further issues.
I was driving forward and following another vehicle. It slammed on the brakes suddenly causing me to hit the back of the vehicle in front of me. I am supposed to have forward collision detection and automatic braking and neither one ever engaged to avoid the crash.
The warnings shown in the attached picture came on for no reason all at once then after a restart of the engine, they all disappeared except the check engine light. Obdii code reader shows the code p2004, but after clearing the code with the obdii tool, the check engine light doesn't come back, which should mean the problem p2004 does not exist anymore. The same story has happened several times in the past year.
I was parking car. Car unexpectedly accelerated, hit object in front of me & continued accelerating off road into a field until I got car into neutral. Car has not been inspected for cause. At time of accident I assumed I made an error. Danger is car was going extremely fast with no control to stop. Drive off road maybe 20 feet after hitting a manual water pump (at campsite). There were children playing in area.
My alternator pulley broke off alternator. The belt melted onto the pulley and somehow caused the pulley to snap off. Car overheated and broke down on the road.
[xxx] my car I just bought and financed was damaged. Carfax shows incident in waco TX. I financed my car 07/2024. Went and had my oil and tire rotation and found out my front sub frame is cracked and bent. This was never reported to carfax jenkin Nissan found the problem. . I attached the last owner on carfax where the incident happened information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I was pulling into a parking space with my foot on the brake going about 2 mph. About 4 feet from a pole the engine raced and the car slammed into the pole. The airbags did not deploy. I was the only person in the car and my foot was still on the bake after the collision I asked Nissan to investigate and they said I would have to wait to get the car fixed for two months and store and tow it at my own expense. It was already being repaired and my insurance company will only pay for a rental for 50 days.
The car siezes and stops instantly with a malfunction that is sensing something that is not present. It has happened over 6 times, within 2 weeks. It has been reported to twin city Nissan (409)727-2779 three times. Nissan serviced a recall by “reprogramming” on 8-2-2023. The incident has continued to occur. 8-3-2023 a Nissan technician was riding in the car when the malfunction siezed the car to a stop again. No code was detected on their computer monitoring system at that time. The dealership said they could no longer assist with repairing the defect because they can not even determine what is causing it. It was suggested by the technician that I manually disarm the emergency brake system every time I start the car. Service manager told me there was nothing else to be done and wished me “good luck”. I have requested the service information for the follow-up on 8-3-2023. The dealership states the information has not been entered by the service manager nor the technician who performed the computer analysis.
While backing out of the driveway or driving forward, the automatic brake engages without warning and without cause. Because of this, I was practically rear ended when driving forward. When backing out of the driveway, the suddenness and the shock of the incident was particularly alarming to my wife who was a passenger in the car , who has a history of having suffered 2 heart attacks. On the first report of the incident, the dealership replaced the sensors on the car. I recently took the car back to the dealership and they are saying they can't reproduce the problem. The warnings, a beeping noise, come at the same time as the engine shuts off.
While driving in the rain on July 11, 2023 and for the first time I encountered rain dropping into the inside of my vehicle from several different places in the front windshield of my vehicle. The rain was falling profusely onto the gearshift area which caused me to multitask and try to cover the area to prevent any damage. I was able to get off the expressway and make it to the gas station where I took several pictures and videos. There were no warning lights or signs on my vehicle. There was an additional issue earlier this year when my car would not accelerate over 35-40 mph and when it did the car would shake badly. The car would just randomn make loud sounds and force a hard push before the accelerations. I took it to a Nissan dealership to find out the transmission had to be replaced. While driving the vehicle it steers toward the right. I also have noise from the bottom of the car and it appears there is something loose or dragging which causes making a left or right turn hard.
After heavy rainfall I get the message "warning malfunction" and "chasis control system error". Brought into Nissan and they can't seam to figure out the problem. I can not use cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, automatic breaking, etc. No water leaks have been detected.
The air bag light keeps blinking and the transmission is slipping!.
