37 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2021

It says my vehicle has 0 unrepaired recalls, however I've noticed that these vehicles have reported fuel leakage due to faulty seals when the tank is full. I got the car used & I was wondering if I have any chance of getting this issue fixed.

38 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2021

The car shudders, makes a whining sound while driving seems to be transmission related.

39 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2021

The transmission has broken down at 68,224 miles. We put it into drive and it did not move however reverse works. The transmission repair shop said that they have had several of these model years in over the last few months, all around 66k miles. There are not parts available so an entire transmission has to be ordered and replaced.

40 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2021

My car would shake, the rpm gauge jumps at 2, starts slowing down and jerking, doesn’t accelerate at times even when stepping on the gas. I almost caused an accident on the guest with a big rig. Maintained every oil change and tune up and service required. This started at 95,000 miles. With all the same complaints where is the recall to make things right.

41 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2021

The cvt transmission failed at 83011 miles. My symptoms included whining and gurgling noises and bucking. Symptoms occurred at all speeds. Minor noises began several months before diagnosis by dealer. Did not cause an accident but unexpected total failure in highway conditions could have been deadly. This is a well know problem with Nissan cvt transmissions as evidenced by multiple class action lawsuits across multiple models and countless owner complaints reported including total, sudden transmission failure. Diagnosed as a failed transmission by dealer. Repair shop returned failed transmission to Nissan.

42 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2021

2013 Nissan Sentra sr 66,000 miles transmission blew out, while driving on the street it sputtered, choked and lost power and started making a loud clanking noise.

43 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/11/2021

Cvt transmission. Yes available for inspection. Vehicle was juddering/flaring yes confirmed by dealer and independent service center no warning lamps or other symptoms besides the juddering/flaring first appeared around mid June 2021 the servicecampaign bulletin dated 9/28/17 does not include our VIN#. . . Even though the problem is identical! because our VIN was not included, Nissan refused to compensate us for this problem. There was a class action suit regarding this issue that has now expired. We are asking for compensation as this was a known Nissan issue and this vehicle is still relatively new with low milage.

44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2021

Cvt transmission my car just has 125,000 miles.

45 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2021

My 2013 Nissan Sentra cvt transmission prematurely failed at 82,000 miles and is available for inspection upon request. One year ago (2020) my car started to shudder and stall when going from a stop, at 75,000 miles. I took my car to the Nissan dealership and they said that they felt the same issues when test driving it and contacted Nissan hq to see if I qualified for the extended warranty. Nissan hq requested that they check the transmission fluid and run some diagnostic tests and check for specific codes. In 2020, the Nissan dealership did as requested and found that the transmission fluid was black and smelled burnt or spent but reported that there were no shavings in the fluid. In 2020, they also could not get the specific diagnostic codes that were requested by Nissan hq. When Nissan hq got these results, they said that all my car needed was a transmission fluid change, even though this year's model is known to have cvt premature transmission failure. Currently, in 2021 my car started shuddering and stalling again along with new problems such kicking when putting the car in reverse, trying to shift gears at inappropriate times, rpms racing even when on a flat, straight road with cruise control on. I took my car to get inspected by the Nissan dealership again and this time they told me that my car has "internal transmission failure" and is not recommended to be driven. The price for a new transmission is 4343. 93 which is worth more than the car. Nissan hq refuses to pay for this even though they know that this transmission has this problem. Nissan hq claims that they cannot help due expiration of the extended warranty, this is unfair to people who gently drove their cars and took care of them which delayed the occurrence of the inevitable problem these transmissions are unsafe for the driver and those around and in the car and it is wreckless for Nissan not to have a recall on these transmissions.

46 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2021

The transmission is failing. The car is slipping, hesitating when accelerating . Also jerks like it punches into gear when driving and wants to stop at times. The car just now is getting 75,000 miles. I see this problem is the same among everyone else, this problem should be fixed as it seems pretty common. The car sometimes wants to stop while I’m driving. I brought it to a mechanic and he said it’s the transmission is failing.

47 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/07/2021

Purchase car in 2015. On sept 27, 2017, my transmission blew. The warranty covered the repair. On sept 12, 2018, the transmission blew again. I had to pay $3,106. 83 out of pocket. On may 7, 2021, the transmission blew again! I now have no warranty and no money to repair. I feel as though I was sold a lemon.

48 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2021

Bad transmission.

49 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2021

Transmission has stop being affective in a dramatic time frame. No check engine light, no previous issues, nothing called out by the many Nissan techs who have worked on the car over the years. When putting the car into reverse or drive, there is a delay, followed by a hard jerk into gear. While accelerating the car struggles to provide power through the transmission. Then fails to shift into higher gears while accelerating on all road types. When going to accelerate up a hill, I have lost all power when pressing the gas pedal. The car needed to be parked in a no parking zone, due to the sudden loss of power.

50 Power Train problem

55 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2021

We have a Nissan Sentra 2013, we've changed the transmission when vehicle had 80,000 miles (almost one year and a half ago), vehicle doesn't have 30,000 miles and is broken again, while Nissan knows about this issue and now they say that they can't do anything about it. Shame on Nissan!!! the worst part is that their own dealers know this is a common issue because Nissan transmisin builder is cheap and they tend to fail for no reason.

56 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2020

I was merging onto the interstate when the transmission stop pulling right when I got into traffic. The car began to jerk and would not move almost caused me to have a accident because I was not able to get any speed after merging into traffic. 59 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2020

Car has 103000 miles. Bought used and after had Nissan service campaigns completed and stating car in good shape. Then car began high revvving before shifting, occasional shudder when shifting to drive or reverse, then enters low mode with no acceleration. Took to Nissan dealer and they said needs new transmission. Contacted Nissan consumer affairs and filed a complaint. They denied the claim only stating car is out of warranty, no offer to at least share the cost. This clearly should be a full transmission recall. Do not buy a car with a cvt!.

60 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2020

I have a 2013 Nissan Sentra, which I have had continuous problems with the transmission. A year or two ago, it locked up and left me stranded. When I towed it in, and they replaced the entire shifter. They also did an "adjustment" to the transmission. This caused the vehicle to drive poorly. It either would have a lag when accelerating, or would rapidly accelerate. I called to complain after the adjustment. The dealer told me it was and adjustment Nissan required in order keep the transmission from going out. So I put up with it. Unfortunately, I was not able to use the car to teach my kids to drive because of the transmission adjustment. Once it accelerated so instantly that my daughter almost ran through the garage. I talked to the dealer and they said the adjustment was needed and there was nothing they could do. Now guess what, the transmission is going out. It only has around a 105000 miles. It starts jerking and stays stuck in a low grear. Almsot died on the highway. I have had it serviced properly and meticulously. I have put up with the trans adjustment. Now the dealer (rikart Nissan) wants 4200. 00 to fix it. After some research, I have noticed there are tons of class action suits, etc. They say they will not repair or rebuild it. They say it is such a terrible transmission they will only replace the whole thing.

61 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2020

Transmission has judder, loss of power no matter if on a straightway or climbing a hill which creates a safety issue. This is now a constant issue.

63 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2020

My transmission has just stopped working I lost power and was not able to drive and I had to pull off the road and restarted my car and drove home. I brought it to the transmission shop and was told my cvt has to be replaced at $4,700 and there is a class action lawsuit that covers to 84,000 miles but my car is now at 94,000 but I think my transmission should be fixed for free.

64 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2020

First time was in san marcos on I-10 freeway while on the way to work while in the middle lane the rpm shot up then back down and the car slowed down real fast to about 20 to 25 mph and with no break lights showing almost got rear ended, luckily was able to pull off with out an accident, and after a couple of minutes started and drove normal. After a couple of week coming home due to the coronavirus and again on the freeway it happened again. Towed it to gunn Nissan in san antonio TX and filed a complaint with Nissan consumer affairs and they did nothing, so the dealership charged me $1100 to fix it, so I payed even tho Nissan should take responsibility for the repairs. 6 days after it was so called fixed and again on the freeway rpm shot up the car slowed to 20 to 25 pmh and almost rear end because no break lights came on. Returned it to the same dealership and now they say it needs a new transmission $4000. Mileage the first about 82,000, and the last time 85,500 Nissan new extended warranty 7 years or 84,000 miles and in California 10 years or 120,000 miles why only California. The issue with Nissan cvt transmissions are very serious and could have costed my stepdaughter her live. I payed to have it repaired and 6 days later they want me to pay for a new transmission.
