Hydraulic Power Assist Steering System Problems of Nissan Sentra

My one month old car rocks side to side when I turn from a smooth road to a bumppy one, and I feel the road bumps through the tire more so than any other new car. I took the car to saratoga nisson and lia nisson, and they said there was nothing wrong. I was trying to trade it back but I will loose money- not happy .

The contact owns a 1. 8 2006 Nissan Sentra. While driving 20 mph she heard a loud noise from the passenger side under the dashboard. Someone diagnosed the vehicle and stated that the steering belt was shredding. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and they also informed her that the steering belt was shredding. The dealer replaced the power steering belt. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer, and was given case# 5685502. The failure mileage was 8,000. The current mileage was 9,000. The dealer stated trunk release inoperable from remote. The dealer replaced trunk lid opener actuator. The consumer stated the vehicle still feels like it is unsafe and also states that the paint is defective. Updated 06/14/07.

1-9-07 I purchased a 2007 Nissan Sentra on 1-13-07 the ps light came on and the power steering was out. It corrected itself and drove okay until 1-18, 2007 I took the car to the dealer. The porter drove the car and confirmed the power steering was not working. I had to argue with the service clerk to demand that the vehicle be checked, after talking with the service manager and the sales manager they agreed to keep the vehicle overnight. The next day I receive a call stating that a problem was found and the part had to be ordered. I have not been told what the part is. I still do not have the auto. They are still waiting for part .

Hello, I own a 2001 Nissan Sentra. I've had the car for about 3. 5 years and during that time it's had at least 4-5 recalls. Most recently I took it in for the engine control module case holder recall in early March. This recall was to fix a problem that could result in the engine shutting off while driving. About two months later, I was on the road sitting at a red light, and all of the sudden the engine shut off. I though that maybe I had it in gear and I just released the clutch on accident, but it happened two more times on that trip. Now I constanstly have the engine shutting down on me while driving or when sitting in idle. It has happened during turns in which it made it very very difficult to steer as the power steering is cut off. I did take the car in for inspection and they told me that it was a bad air flow meter. I declined to have it fixed as I thought that it should be covered under warranty. I even wrote a letter to Nissan consumer affairs, and requested they fix my vehicle. However they declined.

While driving 60mph engine cut off, causing loss of power steering .

Consumer lost control of vehicle and hit a ditch passenger's front rim was cracked and bent. &ak.

While driving 65 mph vehicle completely shutdown without warning. Also, steering locked up, nearly resulting in a collision , cause unknown. Please give any further details.

When I made turn right, I faced uncontrorable steering function for two times on the same day. I faced the accident in second time in the previous description. According to Nissan there are three recalls on my car, but I only received one of them 2 weeks before I faced the accident. Note: the second incident occurred while traveling less than 15 mph on November 25, 2001. He was making a right-hand turn when he lost all steering control and crashed into a jersey wall. No determination has been made as to the cause of the steering failure.

Consumer was traveling about 55mph on highway, and was in process of passing another vehicle , consumer lost control, and was involved in a collision.

While traveling at 60 mph applied brakes on a wet condition road lost control of steering and hit another vehicle. Dealer/manufaxcturer were not notified at this time. Provide any further information on this matter.

While wife was driving about 65 mph hit road divider and lost control. Vehicle rolled over a couple times. Upon impact, air bags did not deploy.
