1 Rear Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 11/17/2010

Rear tire - 2008 Nissan Sentra the rear tires on the vehicle have been going flat or blown out more than 6 times over the last 67,000 miles. The front tires on the vehicle have never had this problem. A few times the tires have slowly deflated and I was able to inflate them a few times before having to replace them. However, there have been other times where the tire has blown out very badly on the highway. All these occurrences only happen to the rear tires of the vehicle. Once, I got one of the deflated rear tires repaired and then it blew out on the highway a few months later. Since this is a very time consuming process, I usually get the tire replaced. I have owned cars continuously since 1997 (2 Honda civics) and I have never had any persistent tire problems. Please look into this problem for me. 2 Rear Suspension problem of the 2007 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 11/07/2010

I have a 2007 Sentra 2. 0s, with brand new goodyear assurance tripletred tires, that I bought new from Nissan in brooklyn park, mn. Its cold and icy here in the winters! I started noticing a lot of swaying and loudness in the rear on bumpy roads and ice/snow. After roughly 5000 miles of driving on new tires all around, my rear tires decreased significantly to 6/32s, brand new is 11/32s, and when I spoke to the dealership about this issue, they had no comment. When I spoke to discount tires about the 80k warranty on the goodyear tires, they said they would replace them but were very confused about how they got bald so quick at only 5k miles. I cannot drive this in the winter but its suppose to save me gas, but it doesn't. My little Acura has better gas mileage. Obviously when I took it into the dealership, they had no clue what the issue was and even when I said, "I have read a lot on rear tire alignment issues with my Nissan and I want answers from you", they still look at me like they have no idea what I am talking about. Until I showed them what I printed off the internet, they told me they are not aware of the situations around the globe and if I wanted to fix my Sentra it's not covered under warranty.

4 Rear Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 11/06/2009

I purchased a new 2008 Nissan Sentra. The first winter driving the car I noticed it drove poorly on wet or snow covered roads - it felt like it was sliding or wandering. I was going to purchase snow tires but did not. After about one year I noticed the rear tires were greatly worn. I paid to have an alignment done and also purchased new tires. I was told by the tire store that the rear could not be aligned due to a manufacturing defect. I then discovered that the alignment issue was well known to Nissan by this time. The car dealer should have checked the alignment, and if found defective should have fixed it prior to transfer of the car to me. I feel my safety was at risk due to the alignment problem. I feel this should have been a recall and the problem corrected by the dealer. I shouldn't have had to discover this problem myself, since it was a known problem by Nissan and its dealers.

5 Rear Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 10/08/2009

My 2008 Nissan Sentra has been wearing out tires rather quickly. I had the alignment checked by a local shop and they informed me that the rear tires were out more than twice the limit. They also informed me that there is no adjustment. I then took the vehicle to a Nissan dealer for an alignment. They aligned it and gave me the spec sheet. I noticed that the rear tires were out once again by more than twice the spec. I informed the dealer and they had the vehicle for 2 more days only to inform me that they could not align it and refunded my money. After speaking with Nissan they proceeded to tell me that they no problems with rear wheel alignment. In the meantime my tires are wearing and the vehicle handles very poorly in the rain.

6 Rear Suspension problem of the 2007 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 09/29/2009

My 2007 Nissan Sentra was pulling hard to the left with brand new tires just installed the day before, so I brought the car to the dealership after two alignments had been performed with no change in the handling or pulling of the car. It was divulged after a day of diagnostics that the car had a bent rear axle replaced in April of 2009. From the factory it was conveyed that my particular model had the wrong axle installed on it and many other vehicles from my model year were affected. The car left the shop and was no longer pulling. Gradually my alignment began to worsen and since the incident I had it redone 4 times since April. The final time I told the dealership to keep the car because something must be wrong and they did two days worth of test to rule out tire wear and other problems. It was determined that the new rear axle was bent at a 20 degree angle causing the pull. There was no damage to my low profile tires or rims nor a collision that would cause the damage as the dealer was able to testify too yet the axle still bent. It was not covered this time and the pull was dangerous still to the left. This must be a defect with this model year.

7 Rear Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 08/29/2009

2008 Nissan Sentra rearend toe out and can not be adjusted by dealership. This causes the rearend to be unstable on wet or slick roads also wears out tires in less than 12,000 miles.

8 Rear Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 07/29/2008

The day of delivery of my 2008 Nissan Sentra, I noticed the rear wheels tilt in at the top, especially the left rear wheel, at least 5 degrees negative camber (I am an insurance auto appraiser ). It also appears to have slight tow in. This is a fixed non-adjustable beam axel, that was set up wrong in the assembly jig and welded up wrong. After some research, this affects 07 and 08 models. The tires will wear out quickly on the inside of the tread (not too noticeable from the outside of the car), and may blow out. At best I will be replacing rear tires all the time. I complained to the dealer 7/29/08 the week after delivery and he said Nissan is aware of the problem and is working on it. They were aware of this in 2007 and have done nothing so far, and are still shipping cars with defective rear beam axles. Can you please help somehow. I could get better mileage if the alignment problem was fixed also. Thank you.

9 Rear Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 06/15/2008

With 12000 km on my 08 Sentra was informed my rear tires needed to be replaced. After much fighting with my service manager, dealership manager, and dealership owner they agreed to inspect the components of the rear suspension and was informed that it was out of alignment, and they could not bring it to within spec. The fix was a total rear suspension replacement. . . I now have a front strut bearing gone and have been waiting 2 months for parts. . . With my front end alignment out because of this, and no word on part arrival.

10 Rear Suspension problem of the 2007 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 06/10/2008

A manufacturing defect of the rear cross member does not allow adjustment for toe alignment which resulted in excessive tire wear creating an incalculable risk of failure.

11 Rear Suspension problem of the 2006 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 05/07/2008

We purchased two falken ze 512 tires in June of 2007 from evans tires in poway. We returned in may 2008 two purchase two more for our Nissan Sentra spec v. The tires are discontinued, so we purchased alternate all season tires. The service manager refused to rotate the tires referring to weak or worn rear struts that needed replacing. We brought the auto to the quality Nissan in temecula, calif. Where we purchased it. It was inspected and any defect was denied.

12 Rear Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 03/21/2008

Rear tires worn completely at 15k miles. Dealer replaced out of pocket. Condition continued, other original 2 tires worn out at 23k miles. Dealer finally got a shim kit ordered from Nissan, they don't specify this as a problem. Dealer was "unaware" of rear axles being out of alignment and I had to pay $72 to get an alignment to prove it. No adjustments were possible to the rear end to bring it back in-line. The dealer had to pay for the second alignment after the repair. Nissan only paid for the dealers time and shim kit. Nissan should reimburse me for the new tires, $232, and both alignments, as well as the original tires the dealership replaced. This is a safety hazard as the rear of the car wanders when on ice or other slippery surfaces.

13 Rear Suspension problem of the 2007 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 11/04/2007

Rear tires are wornout @ 11,000 miles. Nissan replaced 2 rear axles and rear suspension assembly and 2 rear tires. They changed the alignment specs and said it was fine. Consumer affairs didn't answer calls for 2 months. Inspector checked the rear tires that had just been rotated from the front and said they didn't show signs out being out of alignment. They wouldn't contact their factory in TN / safety engineer who had requested the original rear tires be shipped to them. A similar vehicle was checked by the dealership and it too had alignment specs that were out and similar to our vehicle. We have 24000 miles and ready for a second set of tires. Still out of alignment, has always been out of alignment, technicians state it'll never be in alignment because there's an engineering problem.

14 Rear Suspension problem of the 2007 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 10/06/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Sentra. On October 6, 2007, the vehicle was taken to the dealer for its 7,500 mile maintenance service. The tires were rotated and balanced at that time. While driving between 65-70 mph, the steering wheel began to vibrate and shake. He called the dealer and they stated that he could take the vehicle to a dealer that was located closer to him. At that time, he and the dealer believed the tires just needed to be aligned. When he took the vehicle to another dealer, they found that the rear suspension needed to be replaced in addition to the two tires that were just rotated from the rear to the front. The vehicle is currently still with the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 7,700.
