2 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 04/13/2012

This vehicle has more common failures than any I have seen. Both of the rear leaf spring shackles rotted out. The rear axle seals are now leaking. In 6 months I have replaced 2 oxygen sensors and now for the 2nd time I am replacing the evap canister control valve. Nissan seems to ignore all of these issues and has redesigned many of these problem areas in newer models however does not own up to fixing the issues on vehicles that are on the road.

8 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 10/01/2010

I felt a slight give in the gas. The gas pedal depressed down to the floor of my truck and I lost power. I then lost all power steering capabilities. While trying to safely maneuver the vehicle to the emergency 101south freeway shoulder. I crashed into the median. Completely ripping off the front bumper and wheel well cover. The mechanic informed me that I had a faulty fuel sensor.

9 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2008 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 01/03/2010

In the beginning of the year I received a recall letter for my Nissan Titan concerning the fuel sending unit and a problem with the brake peddle. I called the dealer and was told that the parts were not in yet. I called again in the middle of June and was told that the parts have not been released by the manufacturer. I called Nissan corporate and was told that I could take it to the dealer. The dealer laughed and said "you could bring it but it may sit here for six months or more". I have been told that the recall letter is all the manufacturer is required to do. Is this true? where are the parts to fix the problem? is there some agency that makes sure that the manufacturer follows through on the recalls in a timely manner?.

11 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2008 Nissan Titan

Sending unit for my Nissan Titan failed, vehicle stopped. Was in traffic and became stranded for 1hr. I bought vehicle new and have only 20,000 miles. Was towed($95) and still under warranty. Spoke to a CO-worker with the same vehicle, that had the same incident to occur.

The safety recall was not free at the dealership.

13 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 05/15/2009

Fuel gauge does not read full, is slow to respond, or is inaccurate. I have a 2006 Nissan Titan that has had the fuel sender unit replaced twice. Nissan is well aware of this on going problem by the updated service bulletin they issued on Feb. 3, 2009 (reference # ntb08-091a) now I'm out of warranty and Nissan wont cover the work for a 3rd time.

14 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2008 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 11/10/2008

I bought my 2008 Nissan Titan 8/20/08, everything was great until odm hit about 3,000 miles. That's when my fuel gauge was inconsistent on it's readings and every time I pumped gas into my truck it would spill gas out. I took my truck into the Nissan dealer I bought the truck from and they kept it for 3 1/2 hours when I went to pick it up they said they found no problems and I should change my gas grade. I told them I only put 91 in and to go to a lesser grade wouldn't make any sense. For the next few months I wiggled and repositioned the nozzle to help prevent the gas from spilling from the truck, most of the time this helps with less fuel coming out. I called them again and told them I am still having the same two problems they said again they hadn't found anything wrong but I could schedule another appointment. I told them I would go to another mechanic. I did and because the truck is still under warranty they said I needed to go to the dealership. After explaining to them what was happening they set up a meeting with another Nissan dealership, where I learned that all 08 and 09 tiitans have numerous fuel problems. They did replace my fuel sensor and said with the gas spilling out while pumping I would have to pull the nozzle almost all the way out and hold the lever only a quarter of the way in to prevent the gas spilling out. I asked him why this was happening he said that the fuel system couldn't handle much gas per second because the way the fuel system was built it builds up to much pressure and in return gas spills out. I told him I would like it fixed and said there was no fix for it except to pull out the nozzle and lightly hold the lever. I told him I didn't feel that was safe for my family to be driving around in a vehicle that builds pressure in the fuel of all places he said my only other option was to get another vehicle.

15 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Titan

The engine warning light came on. I made an appointment at lynnes Nissan in stanhope, NJ. The dealer stated that the fuel level sending unit had failed and the the 2006 Nissan Titan which had about 36,600 miles on the odometer was out of warrenty. I paid lynnes Nissan $488. 00 for the repair.

16 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2007 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 02/28/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the gas mileage was far from where the standards should be according to NHTSA, who stated that the standards should be 18 mpg, but the contact's vehicle was at 13. 8 mpg on a flat highway. When there was stiff wind the reading indicatesd14. 1 mpg. When he contacted the manufacturer they stated that no failure was present, and it was NHTSA's responsibility because they mandated the ruling. The vehicle has been taken to the shop, and no failures were found once again. The current mileage is 3,326, and failure mileage was 3,226.

17 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 06/21/2006

After refueling the vehicle the fuel gauge failed to return to full immediately. When the vehicle was driven for more than 15 minutes the gauge would finally read full. When the vehicle sat for more than 2 hours the same condition occurred. After next refuel the problem seemed to be resolved until the vehicle sat for more than 2 hours. I contacted the local dealer for further assistance and was informed that there had been a service bulletin describing the problem. I was told the problem would go away after several days. It has been several weeks and several refuels and the problem has continued.
