The Nissan Versa 2016 has a faulty brake system. I was in motion driving with ongoing traffic I saw the traffic stopped I pressed the brakes and kept pressing brakes and the car did not stop. I could not go left or right because cars were in both lanes. I hit car in front. The officer verified that the car was in speed motion with no screeches or mark in street. The officer stated that my car was in normal speed motion. The air bags deployed and my sister and I were injured. The car I hit passengers was ok. This accident was caused by brake failure. I reported this to the Nissan corporation.

I purchased my 2017 Nissan Versa in September 11th, 2017. Within 2 weeks, I began having brake issues. The car would screech when slowing down and make almost a grinding sound when making a hard brake. I took it to the dealer who I purchased the car from (abc Nissan) and they twice refused to fix it. Than I drove across town to another dealer (midway Nissan) who admitted that it was a known defect and said it simply needed more grease. About a week after being fixed, the problem continued. Two weeks later, I was on the freeway and attempting to slow down to stopped traffic when the brakes locked up and would not allow me to stop. I attempted to steer in the direction of the side lane, but was unable to avoid the collision with the car in front of me. The airbags immediately deployed and although no serious injuries occurred, I found that some papers I had in the car had somehow been torn. Although I was wearing a seat belt, my seat belt was nowhere to be found. I am glad I am alive and I am thankful that I was not injured (other than very minor knee injury) but I feel that both the brakes and the air bags present significant safety concerns. Previous years of Nissans have been recalled for the brake issues. My car only had 24 miles when I purchased the car and the brakes locked up and failed at 3,000 miles.

Brake failure today while driving. When I pressed the brake, the pedal went all the way down to the floor. The car didn't respond. Thank god I was coming out of a parking lot and not on the busy highway when this happened or it could have been a fatal situation. Also experiencing cvt judders and vibrations constantly. Transmission feels like its struggling and will die soon. I only have 39000 miles on the car.

Started the Versa after being parked for at least 30 minutes and was exiting a shopping center. Exit requires driving up a significant incline to access busy three lane road. At the crest of the hill, during pause waiting for access point to enter traffic, Versa would not move even with excellerator depressed. Tried several times and Versa instead rolled backwards, gaining momentum while going down hill backwards. Brakes failed, pressed all the way to the floor and would not stop car until a curb was hit. Later, exiting the same location and crossed in 2 lanes, the Versa running but the transmission would not move the car. Zero rpms. Car stopped dead in its tracks and would not move even shifting gears trying anything and everything to get out of the oncoming traffic. After several attempts to move the car, the Versa died. Versa then would not start and only made 'clicking noises'. Five people in the car all at risk during this serious drivability concern. Once able to restart the car, the trans and engine sinked and Versa then drivable. Exited the roadway. Drove the vehicle in less populated area to the dealership. This all following a complaint to the dealer in may that the transmission was making unusal noises which they claimed was normal for the 2014 cvt.
Returning from state line my mother and two aunts where driving back to la on the freeway when trafic slowed before approaching a downhill grade when my aunt went to brake when the brake system was a total failure. The brake pedal went all the way to the flor. She then continued to pump the brakes still not stoping she put the car on nuetral and pulled on the shoulder and waited for the car to slow down. When the car stoped they brakes were still not working. The car stoped when they entered an uphill off ramp. They then called aaa and towed the car back to my house. The very next day July 6 I took my mothets car to the dealer and told them what happen n they proceeded to check the car onky to find "client stayesat time brake is hard/padel gors to the floor" then it says "test brake system, ok. No leak. Unable to diplocate this problem at this time. " I did some reasearch and found articles related to the 2014 Nissan Versa break failures and proceded to this website. Heres my question what if the next time a Nissan Versa brake failuresresults in a major accident or loss of life. My mother this Nissan Versa im describing with incident is my mothers. Recall it and make it safe to drive. It will continue to fail you and I both know it will.
I was getting ready to back my Versa into a parking space. I had my foot on the brake when I shifted the car into reverse the car engine revved up, brakes failed, and the car flew backwards into a wall causing considerable damage to the back end of the car. This could have been deadly if I was backing out of the parking space and not into it. Once I hit the wall the brakes came back on. Since the dealer was unable to replicate the incident they said it never happened. They also told me that it was impossible for the brakes to fail as they are a cable system. I also contacted Nissan motor corp directly and was told this was not a warranty issue and I would have to go through my insurance and pay the deductible. I had mentioned to the Nissan dealer previously that I thought the brakes were funny prior to this incident as they would routinely go to the floor if I was traveling at slow speeds. I was told this was normal operation.

I was driving home from work taking same route as I've done for three years. It was my first time driving a recently purchased 2007 Nissan Versa hatchback. I moved into the turn lane and applied brakes to turn a 90 degree corner. The brakes failed. I had turned the wheel anticipating a normal turn however the car kept moving straight ahead. The car jumped a concrete island and came to rest. I knew immediately there was significant damage to the driver side although the damage was underneath the vehicle. It had to be towed to an auto repair facility approx one hundred yards from the scene of the accident. Police came but no citation was issued. Damage includes a broken front axle, damage to suspension, wheel etc. I contacted Nissan to determine if my vehicle was included in the faulty brake fluid reservoir cap recall. Nissan states it is not. The brakes failed and there's no explanation.
