1 Carrier/rack problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 11/17/2017

1) the air bag lights flash on and off without warning and reason. They have not ever deployed (yet). Vehicle is in motion when this happens. 2) my husband's right shoe often gets caught on the edge of the center console panel-making is difficult to move his foot to the brake. We have had two near missed when he was trying to hit the brakes. The vehicle is in motion and these incidences occur when we are trying to transition from accelerator to brake. 3) windshield-a small pebble hit the windshield and caused a little damage. We took it to get repaired (not replaced). It just recently cracked and now the whole windshield needs to be replaced. I have had a couple windshields repaired on other vehicles and have had not had problems. I have called a local Nissan dealer to make an appointment to fix these issues. Recall #"s 17v-144 15v-507.

3 Carrier/rack problem of the 2011 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 06/28/2016

I have 42000 miles on my car, and all of a sudden yesterday my muffler started rattling and being extremely loud. I parked my car and it was fine, but when I started it up to leave where I was it was noisy - very sudden and unexpected. Had someone look at it, and it appears that the flange between my muffler and the manifold cracked clean apart. Not due to rust or corrosion as it is a clean break. He said it appeared to him that it must not have been a very good weld to begin with.

4 Carrier/rack problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 01/20/2016

Cracked heat shield below center console, underneath the car per Nissan repairman! I noticed that when going over bumps that I would a rattle noise coming from the center console area, and I could feel cool air also in that area!.

5 Carrier/rack problem of the 2014 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 11/20/2015

The heat shield covering the exhaust underneath the vehicle has cracked in several places and was replaced 2 times. The cracking occurs where the heat shield is held to the body of the vehicle by screws and bolts. The washers and bolts are too small for the predrilled holes and causes stress fractures at the hole. This causes the heat shield to come loose and rattle against the exhaust. There are other models with similar heat shields with the same problem as the materials are the same. The rattle causes distracted driving as well as poses a potential safety hazard if the entire unit were to fall off while driving. It could cause unsafe vehicle operation or hit another vehicle.

7 Carrier/rack problem of the 2011 Nissan Versa

8 Carrier/rack problem of the 2009 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/19/2014

Trying to find out if recall on 2009 Nissan Versa. Noticed car engine seemed louder than usual. Mechanic found 'muffler neck' (bracket where pipe from engine goes into muffler) was rusted with a hole, had to get new muffler and gasket etc. , $389. 26 for parts/labor/tax. Mechanic showed me the muffler system that he removed. Rest of muffler/pipe system was not rusted, so I'm suspecting a design problem where water is somehow accumulating in that one area to rust just that spot, but requiring the whole system then be replaced. At about 81,000 miles and car is garaged, this does not seem like normal wear. I've read other complaints posted online also about the muffler system rotting out too soon, and many seem to be about the same mileage as mine. Either a design and/or parts quality issue, it seems.

9 Carrier/rack problem of the 2009 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 01/24/2014

A brand new car bought early January 2009. It has 60885 miles when incident occurred. The muffler fall down and broke at flange connection point. Went to Nissan dealer to check out and exam the problem. They indicate that a corrosion from inside the muffler pipe has occurred and caused this cracks, so it fall down. It was clear a poor manufacturing, or default in manufacturing this part was the reason to cause this incident. Dealer offered to replace it with a new part with cost up to $ 600, where it supposed to be free of charge. I would to claim Nissan us corp. Responsibility for this incident. They did not made early recall to replace this part where they knew the problem. It was clear that they wait to happen at any time to make more profits. This it looks like as a fraud. Suppose controversy, this muffler fall down on high speed road, it may be cause, and could be, a deadly accident. Therefore, I am asking you please to investigate this problem with all Nissan vehicles, and do what is necessary to protect us from such accident, and to provide us with a suitable compensation. Thank you.

10 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

Check engine light came on and turns out the evaporator had a crack in it so paid Nissan $1,500 to replace it with a non-genuine evaporator part. Then about six months later the check engine light came on with had ac at speed 4 when driving at any speed. Told the blower motor was bad and needed replacing at the cost of $1,500 to do it. Refused the work and ran blower motor on a/c at speed 3 for about a month then after that seemed to work at speed 4 as well with no check engine light coming on. I thought it was probably the speed rheostat like happened to me on a Ford I had cost of item $25 and did it myself. The rheostat must have been stuck and become unstuck and I would have paid for a repair that was not needed and been scammed.
