Electrical System Problems of Nissan Versa - part 2

My 2023 Nissan Versa s5mt has a reoccurring issue where under a stall condition the car will occasionally loose all power on a restart. This happened once in traffic. I got to a red light and fumbled the clutch pedal and stalled in stopped traffic. I went to get in front of a semi that was moving faster then me and if I didn't realize what happened I may have cut him off and gotten t-boned. In a 2500lb car like the Versa, that could have killed me. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they failed to replicate the issue. There were no symptoms or warnings prior to the failure. Many others have claimed this issue exists with their 2023 Nissan Versas and also claimed the dealership could not fix theirs.

Car stalls, I’ve contacted Nissan regarding electrical issues with ignition how it’s not reading the ecu. Another things is the recalls that comes up. Here it is recall #19v654000 back over prevention: sensing system: camera defect description: Nissan north America, inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan altima, armada, frontier, kicks, leaf, maxima, murano, nv, nv200, pathfinder, rogue, rogue sport, sentra, titan, titan diesel, Versa note and Versa sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti q50, q60, qx30 and qx80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan gt-r and taxi and Infiniti qx50, qx60, q70, q7ol vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 111, "rear visibility. " defect consequence: the lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash. Defect corrective action: Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected vins should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or Infiniti customer service at 1-800-662-6200. The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed and the turning signals were activated, the vehicle felt as if the transmission had improperly shifted. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle failed to exceed 40 mph. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the brake pedal, motherboard, and taillight assembly had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 30,500.

A while ago my airbag light began flashing, we reset it a few times and it would come back after a week or two sometimes longer, either a flashing or solid light, it felt almost random. No codes came up when we had it ran, and then we took it to the dealership for inspection. It is the back of my driver seat, the airbag for the driver side back seat. I don’t know what the qualified number of complaints is, but please at least look into this. The most complaints this car has is something to do with the airbags. I’ve also had a similar ac/belt problem that was mentioned by the guy from texas. He said the ac compressor caused a belt failure, mine was the other way around, my belt was squeaking for a while, had it replaced- month later my ac compressor gave out due to the belt operating at full capacity for the first time in a long time. It is available for further inspection. An airbag is plainly a safety risk, not to mention the part is “on extreme back order”, which leads me to believe that this a bigger problem then what is being reported here. The problem was confirmed by the dealership it has only been inspected by the Nissan dealership as also stated above, there were warning lights about its failure. It’s late, I apologize but I’m not proof reading this. Please look into it, please, it’s a very expensive repair that I won’t be able to afford for a long time, and I’m concerned about my back passengers. .

The car lost power and would not go over 40 mph. This made for a dangerous situation on the road. P2615-00 a crankshaft position sensor code was thrown, but when I took it to the dealer they could not replicate the problem. I have video documentation of the problem I can provide. Since I posted my video, several other people have come forward with the same issue. It seems as if when the manual transmission version of this car is stalled or fails to start, it will throw this code and severely reduce the power. It seems to be a simple software issue, but so far all the Nissan dealers who have looked at these cars have not been able to provide a fix. The check engine lamp light came on and vehicles current shift lamps not visible. Vehicle began to slip gears and rev at high rpm. Risk of taking kids to school and myself to work was resolved by parking the car back in driveway. The car diagnostic machine put out code p0705 transmission range sensor a circuit. Also our vehicle is available for further inspection.

2019 Nissan Versa sedan has a transmission issue where you stop and immediately or within up to 3 seconds, there is a clunk. The engine is jumps forward, causing the engine to rock. In a range of years, up to 2017, there is a recall on the transmission. For 2018, which is just for that year, is a recall for that transmission. How can I find out if 2019 recall is in a preliminary stage at Nissan and will be released later this year? I feel it's a safety issue because the transmission can stop working while I'm on the highway which could cause an accident at high speeds. The mechanic at dealership said that they do not get any codes when there is an issue within cvt type transmission. He stated basically there are no way to open transmission, to exchange parts, due to, no codes for inside of transmission. He stated Nissan altima transmission was fixed for the year 2019. Then the made the fixes for 2019 Versa. Seeing the pattern with 201? to 2017, & 2018 recall on transmission.

Car will only start sporadically. Had both camshaft sensors replaced, check engine light still on. Unable to predict when vehicle will start. Sometimes it will rev up but wont actually start. Dealership says it needs ecm and engine harness replaced. I have had to get it towed several times from several random parking lots or streets because it wouldn't start. Wont pass an emissions test even though sensors were replaced, check engine lights wont go off.

All the dash lights come on car acceleration will either speed up or slow down on its own the transmission slips shakes and stalls at red lights.

11587629 does not explain the issue I reported 2012 Nissan Versa sv made July 2011, purchased Sep. 2011. 2022 45000 miles check engine light. O2, crankshaft position codes. A pig tail connected up stream O2 to crankshaft pos. Sensor. Pig tail wires not togather, only taped' these two sensors were not connected to main wire harness. . Nissan new harness and labor $1100. + , for what they didn't make right when built. How many people have been charged for this repair? that was Nissan's fault.

The airbag light is stuck on solid(its accessable). The seatbelts lock without toucking them(its accessable). The trunk wont unlock electrical problem through wire harness(its accessable) my safety and everyone else safety is in danger with these recalls that the dealer wont acknowledge on my 2007 Nissan Versa still in 2022. The problems are on all Nissan Versa models through 2007 - 2012 have been confirmed by dealer and my vehicle is a 2007 Nissan Versa hatchback and it says theres no recalls for my VIN which Nissan needs to be sued for this or actually fix there recalls. My vehicle has not been inspected by dealer, police, or insurance. But it has been checked by professional mechanics. No lights before problem started. Just came on out of no where airbag light never blinks just stays on solid after car is turned on. And the trunk worked just fine for 15 years until yesterday. The trunk has some electrical problem after mechanic inspected it. Fix these problems. My safety is in danger and so is everyone else.

Everytime I turn my car on, there’s a chance that some lights will turn on my dash for absolutely no reason. . The car could be parked and getting warmed up and the traction control light,parking collision warning, and front collision light all turn on simultaneously. I have included a photo to get a better picture! only way for me to get rid of them is by turning my car off for 5 minutes then turning it back on again. It been a real inconvenience. Not to mention when those lights turn on it means I can’t parallel park anywhere because my rear parking assist prevents me from backing up, because it “thinks” something is in the way…ugh! not only that but everytime I play music my Nissan connect shuts of in the middle of my drive then resets and starts playing music again. If you guys have any answers for me please let me know I bought this car in August of 2021.

My car had a problem from day one I bought. The tires always showing not working and car has absolutely no power if you going on hill. From last year car having really serious problems with transmission and shuffling. I took car to Nissan car dealership and the are reprogrammed transmission. My car stalled while at an intersection, I was driving and came to a red light where I stopped upon the light changing green I stepped on the gas pedal and my car would not move. I shifted into reverse and still no movement. I turned my car off and restarted it and no movement, the engine turned on etc I had to move it over to a side residential street to get it out of on coming traffic.

I park the nissa Versa and I smell an over heating odor a lightly dense smoke appears over the hood. A thought comes to mind, “I just went to jiffy lube last week. ” suddenly two people are running towards yelling, “fire, get out of the car. ” I couldn’t believe it I was at a loss for words I couldn’t move until they literally opened the door. I started recording it. It’s insane I loved that car, it was payed off and it still looked nice. -it gets worse they tow the car to north shore towing. I report it to my insurance and the appraiser that attempted to see the car was not allowed access because I didn’t sign a release form so I go to the towing place and sign the release form. The appraiser goes for the second time and is refused entrance. Weeks went by so I call the insurance which informs me of the previous two failed entries to north shore towing. I ask the staff male on the phone why he didn’t allow the insurance agent entry to inspect vehicle I had signed the release form. The staff male literally laughs at me on over the phone. You want to know what component? inspection? and today my friend mentions his car has been recalled and light bulb went on and here I am asking for your help. I have videos witnesses also I have proof that of the signed document to release the car to insurance agent.

1) when at red light with car in drive and brake pedal pressed the car occasionally begins to roll forward and then the brakes suddenly depress even more. 2) all brake lights intermittently go out and if hit will come back on for an unknown time until u realize they're not working again. 3) I have already had to replace the fuel pump twice with only 60k on miles on the car.

The undercarriage of my car seems to be falling into pieces. The car has only 57,000 miles on it. It has sat in my driveway for 7 years because I had another Nissan, my sentra, which I had for l5 years and it never had undercarriage issues. And I never had all these issues with my sentra that I am having with this Versa now that I am free to drive it since I got rid of my sentra after l5 years. The dealer says power control arms pressure forceing grees to be released. And heat shield, repair heat shield ripped off bolts and causing rattling under vehicle. I just paid a $600 bill to that same dealer for that same areas of work not that long ago. Why is my Nissan falling apart. I had a sentra I had for l5 years and never had trouble with the undercarriage like this. I cant afford these big repair bills. The milage is very low for all these things to go wrong when I never had them go wrong on the sentra for l5 years. Did ghosn steal money from Versa?.

Unknown! repeatedly spent thousands of dollars on repairs but car never fixes. Check engine light on every month and car stalls often.

I am getting water in my right tail light bulb so that it is out. I have only 57,000 miles on my car. It is 7 years old. This has no damage to the right tail light. It was just manufactured so it is a damage problem. Nobody hit the car there in that area oranything. It just developed to have water in teh light bulb. Nissan Versa is not a well designed or manufactured car. It falls apart on the buyer. I bought this car new and hardly used it for 7 years. I had another car and used that more. It sat in my driveway falling apart.

I stopped at an atm when I backed out of space cruise control lights started flashing horn going off air bag light flashing passenger door clicking. Made it to store parked car got horn to stop. When I backed up out of space and turned wheel air bag deployed. Lights flashing horn sounding alarms. Turned off vehicle call 911 fire department came to see if no danger of fire and if I was ok. Called ins company set up cv claim because air bag deployed for no apparent reason hit me in the chest possibly due to electrical something malfunctioned. Police also came but said I did not need to report anything because I did not hit anything. Called geico had vehicle towed and because air bag deployed they created a claim. Had vehicle towed to firestone but they were closed today adjuster from insurance company coming out tomorrow 892021 to assess damage and repairs needed.

It happened on the passenger side water was filling up on the passenger side of the car about a week ago last Friday evening when I got off work I don't know where it is coming from but it is in the front and back seat of the car on the passenger side.

Driver door handle will not open from inside car at times. The exterior handle locking mechanism gets stuck not allowing the door to open from the inside. When this happens, I need to roll down the window to reach outside and jiggle the exterior door handle in order to be able to open the door from inside the car. This poses a serious safety hazard of the driver not being able to exit the vehicle in an emergency. This is a common issue with the Nissan Versa car on many car forums online. I believe there was a recall issued for newer model cars, but not the 2011 year.

The driver side door lock was frozen and would not open with the use of electrical button inside of car, the remote, or manually with key outside of the car. I was trapped inside of the car and could not get out of the car through the driver's side door and had to climb out of driver seat over to passenger door to get out of the car. If I was older and had health problems I would of not been able to get out of the car. Very dangerous and should not ever happen to any car door. When I took my car into my mechanics for repair, there was another Versa that was brought in for the exact same problem, unbelievable. I did write to Nissan and they had a consumer affairs person call me. I spoke to a women and she informed me that Nissan did not have any recalls for the door locks. I expressed my concern for the safety and she told me that I should of taken the car to the Nissan dealer. I told her that I was not able to get into the driver's door and had my daughter climb into the car to drive to our mechanic to have it repaired as there is not a Nissan dealer nearby.

My 2014 Nissan Versa began having electrical problems today at 3:15pm. My blinkers are coming on when I turn the head lights on and the bright light switch turns on with the blinker and is not on bright light mode. When I turn the lights off the inner lights around the inside panels of speedometer and other come on like they are supposed to when headlights are on not off. When I turn them off the inner lights go off around the speedometer. Whole headlight blinker system started going crazy when I was at sonic began in reverse to pull out and continued in drive to a safe parking lot continued in park and while driving on city streets. It all began with an extended warranty phone call about an electrical problems with my car. I went to my job interview then took it straight to the dealership I'm purchasing it from loyds used automotive where they sent me to chapman's automotive these places are located in hot springs arkansas where all of this occurred. I later tried to call the warranty phone number back and it said nobody was available to take my call.

Driving right after an automated car wash, clicking started, dash lights dimmed, car started "missing". Turn car off, could note restart, clicking in dash still happened with key out of ignition. Waited 2 hrs then started. Made it home. Next day same issue but I did not turn car off. As I am driving car seemed to improve.

I was backing out of my driveway, and noticed that the vehicle started losing power and steering. The vehicle then shut off while driving. After this incident, I parked the car, and it stopped responding and would no longer turn on.

Nissan Versa 2012 has a engine problem with the mass air sensor and also the electrical probelm. My car shut off on the road while I was driving. I sent to the mechanist but they could not find the exact problem. I also sent to a Nissan dealership but the problem still remain it. I one time almost got a accident because of it.

On several occasions while driving on minor icy or snowy roads (not extremely slick) when I depress the brakes the car does not stop or slow. I hear a rattlling noise in the front of the car that I am told is the vehicle dynamic control system engaging. I press down on the brake and the rattlling continues but the car does not slow or stop. I have narrowly missed having two serious accidents when I had to pull of the road or into another lane to avoid hitting the car in front of me. I was not following closely, the car failed to brake on each instance for 80-150 feet. The flashing icon comes on showing the vdc is in use. During the last most serious instance the icon showing that the system had turned itself off came on. I know you are not supposed to pump the brakes with the system, and I did not until the last moment when I had to turn sharply to avoid a collision. Pumped, turned and brakes finally held. In each case I was travelling at 25-30 mph on level two lane highway in snowy, icy, but not severly so,conditions. I have been driving in colorado for 40 years and have never had an accident, or difficulty controlling my car in ice or snow. On two other occasions under similar circumstances the brakes held but the car pulled sharply to the right or left. I am scheduled to see dealer tomorrow.

My vehicle shuts off on me when driving and it happens sporadically. Driving on city street loss acceleration wheel locks.

My air conditioning is not working. I believe wires in my care are covered with soy which is an attractant to mice and rats and causes them to climb into my car and eat the wires, causing the car to malfunction. We need to outlaw and ban the use of soy feedstuffs on car wires, this is just ridiculous for allowing this to happen, to make cars a magnet for mice and rats.

Safety is at risk for multiple reasons one because a month upon receiving this brand new vehicle with 40 miles on it I’ve been experiencing malfunctioning problems. I am not able to receive a forward collision warning at times. I’m not sure if these electrical problems also caused my battery to die a few weeks later. In these moments is the start of when the malfunction notification would appear daily. Two— the transmission has been having issues for a long time as well. My drives no longer have a smooth transition when I press the gas it stutters and will not accelerate immediately. The problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. I brought my car new once again so am very disappointed at how much needs to be worked on and do not want to purchase from Nissan ever again.

The fuel doesn't pump correctly as it should. The fuse burnt out. The automatic braking randomly activates for no apparent reason while driving. It also doesn't activate at all. The front end of the car lifts upward like a wheelie from a stop light. There was smoking and burning smell from under the hood.

There is hesitation when I accelerate, it takes a little bit to get up to speed (which isn't great when you're on the free way). When I push on the break and then take my foot off the break it feels like my car is still breaking. When I'm stopped at a red light my car shakes.

I have owned this car since I bought it new in sept. 2006. Never have had any problems and have kept it serviced, on oct 02, 2020 I went to store and back home about 8 miles total, parked in yard, approx. 10 minutes later alarm went off and key fob would not dissarm it so I opened the hood and the whole firewall was on fire, and flames bellowing from underneath, I immediately ran and got a fire extingusher andd completely used the large cannister to put fire out. The car is a total loss and very scarey and upsetting that this could happen from a parked car.
