2 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/18/2018

Takata inflators, I received an email from NHTSA back in July 2018. Exactly a few days later my airbag lights came on again. I haven't had time to take my car to Nissan. I took it in today 2/16/19 and mcdavid Nissan is telling me that my car doesn't have a recall. They won't fix it they want me to pay $800+ to repair it. I've already had to take my car here 2 other times for the same issue. When it had recalls for airbags. I'm guessing the recall isn't active so they're not seeing it. My car was parked in my garage next day the airbag lights came on.

4 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/11/2018

"takata recall" took in for service/repair and now warning light is on. Have received several notices to bring car into a dealer to have the recall fixed regarding the takata airbags. I have had no warning lights or any issues up until bringing the car in for repair for the recall on the takata airbags. Upon taking car to stevens creek Nissan workorder 170159 July 11, 2018, my car was returned to me after what was noted on the work order as remove and replace air bag inflator, campaign pm685 Versa hatchback. My car is a 4 door sedan, not a hatchback. Upon driving off with my car the warning light "airbag" is no flashing and will not go off. This indicates something was not done correctly and now Nissan refuses to correct their error unless I pay out of pocket for a dieanostic plus repair fees and labor. I have never had any issues whatsoever with my car until taking it into stevens creek Nissan to have a recall for the takata airbags addressed. Before I seek any legal action I wanted to reach out to you for some assistance. How safe am I driving my car with this warning light "airbag" ? why would a recall on the takata airbags cause a issue after they were addressed/fixed by Nissan stevens creek? am I to be killed on the road or worse before Nissan/takata will take responsibility for a recall, fix, error?.

5 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2011 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 06/01/2018

The driver side air bag inflator light flashed and took it to the dealership to get that recall fixed and was told that the clock spring was the defect which made the air bag light come on which the air bag was defected and the horn did not work. What started out as a free service turned into a cost of $311 which I did not have. If the air bag inflator light comes on because of the defected clock spring then why isnt the clock spring the recall item. Seems to me that inorder for it all to work it is the clock spring that needs the recall.

Failure Date: 01/26/2018

Takata inflators: I verified with Nissan consumer affairs that the passenger side airbag inflator was also under recall as of January 2018 and I was told to advise the dealer. I went Jan 26 to get the drivers side inflator fixed and advised the service guy that the passenger side had also been recalled, so I would like them both fixed. When I picked up my car he had only requested the driver side to be repaired. I was late to work so I left but I was very upset because I have to take my mother to her appointments and do not have time to keep going back and forth to the dealer.

Takata recall has put my family, friends and my life in danger - not to mention countless others. . . . It is very stressful knowing that there is a ticking time bomb in the car we drive every day. I hope and pray that we remain safe until the airbag inflator can be replaced in the next few weeks.

9 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2008 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 01/15/2018

Takata inflators and airbags I received notice that these were dangerous. I contacted Nissan. The dealer does not have the parts. This was in November of 2017. It is now Jan 15th of 2018. I was given a rental car to use until Jan 15th. Now I have no safe car to use for work and no expectation of when the parts will be in. I can not drive the car, because I do not wish to take a chance of injuring myself or my family. Metal fragments can explode and injure or kill people. I have to drive my son to school and then go to work, pick him up each day, like every other working mom. What can I do?.

12 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 12/27/2017

Takata recall: local Nissan dealership (sandy sansing Nissan, pensacola florida) was contacted by us several times over the past 4 months, requesting information on this recall. We were told the part to repair the airbag is not available and won't be until spring 2018. When I called again today, I was told the same thing, but also told by the Nissan serviceman, "this is a voluntary recall by Nissan, done out of an abundance of caution. Nothing to worry about. " I asked him if it was the airbag recall that had been in the press for the past few years for takata and he said, "no. This is a different part - just replacing the inflators and isn't anything to worry about. There is no threat to life or well being of drivers or passengers. " I asked if he would call me when the parts are available and he said, "no, but you can call me every few weeks to see if the parts are in. " I looked up the recall on the NHTSA website and it is, indeed the takata recall that people have died and/or been seriously injured from the airbags being faulty. This is my 18 year old son's car. I'm really ticked off and concerned.

16 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 11/03/2017

I was never notified of a recall on my vehicle (no. 15v-573) that was issued 09/10/15. It appears that it is still incomplete. How are they allowed to get away with not providing a remedy in a timely manner. And now another recall (no. 17v-449) says they don't even have a part to repair the defect (takata air bag inflator rupture). The first recall says the defect could result in damages that could result in a crash and the air bag deploying could result in death. What options are available when you can't trade in the car? also, I'm not allowed to take part in the class action because I haven't taken my vehicle to the dealership for repair yet (because I can't). Now I'm very anxious every time I get behind the wheel of my car.

17 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2008 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 10/26/2017

Takata inflators. Recall instructions include driving car to dealer so they can see it. This seems counterintuitive since the airbags can kill people.

18 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 10/26/2017

Takata recall I came in to my dealership today for an oil change. I was then told about the airbag inflator recall. I was not notified by mail in the 60 day time frame outlines on the NHTSA recall page(60 days from July 17). It's been 41 days past this mark. When told about it, I was told that the part wouldn't be available until mid-fall. The delay in notification and lack of available part leaves my wife driving an airbag that would operate like a shotgun blast to her face. This situation is unacceptable, and Nissan has not responded appropriately.

19 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2010 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 10/24/2017

Takata inflators: despite the initial recall being issued in 2016 as yet no fix available until spring 2018. Contacted Nissan dealer in birmingham al and was offered a loan car until they realised I will not be 21 until June 2018. It seems hypocritical to offer a loan car due to safety issues with the Nissan Versa but then withdraw the offer and leave no option but to drive a potentially unsafe vehicle due to an issue with their insurance company.

20 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 10/02/2017

Takata recall: my 2009 Nissan Versa was recalled for the takata air bags. I received a formal notice from Nissan last spring and was advised of the potential issue but they did not have parts available to replace the part at fault. Their remedy was to not have anyone sit in the front passenger seat until a replacement part was available. I finally got notice to schedule the replacement of the air bag inflator in late September. The service advisor at my Nissan dealership advised there were 2 recalls for both front air bag inflators but they only had parts for the passenger side. Service was scheduled for 10/2/2017 and the passenger side inflator was replaced within a week of my receiving the notice. However, the dealership service advisor told us that the driver's side part is not available an will not be available for 3 to 4 months. This is unacceptable to me - will Nissan give me a loaner vehicle until the part is in stock? apparently, lives are in jeopardy and no one seems to be in a hurry to remediate the situation!.

21 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2011 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

Takata inflators. I have received notice, that my Nissan dealership cannot repair my at risk airbags, until the spring. They also have run out of loaner cars available. I just find this worrisome, that I have to drive a car, that could have a defect, for this long of a time.

Failure Date: 09/25/2017

Takata recall-in early 2017, we rec'd a safety recall from Nissan no. America potential rupturing of the front passenger air bag inflator. The mailer said that Nissan was waiting for parts & should be avail. April 2017. The car was with our son at college. We told him do not drive w- passenger in front seat. Sept 25, 2017, we rec'd a 2nd notice-stating that parts were avail to repair front passenger airbag + an add'l recall 17v-449 was in effect for the driver side, parts not avail until spring 2018. We will get the repair done & there is an option for getting a loaner car, but for 9 months, our son & other family members have been driving this car, not knowing that the driver side was just as dangerous as the passenger side. I do not understand how Nissan (NHTSA) could not confirm the same issue on both front airbags & notify us of the danger back in Jan 2017. We have not been in an accident in this car, but the fact that 9 months later we are finding out that our son, and other family members, should not have been driving this car at all is shocking and horrifying.

30 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2011 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/15/2017

Takata recall and spring coil recall I purchased/financed my Nissan Versa car this year 2017 around February. Sometime in July 2017 I received a letter informing me of the takata recall for the air bag inflator hazard and to contact the nearest Nissan dealer for further instructions. I contacted them here in monroe michigan gave them my VIN number and they then informed me that they were aware of the recall & also informed me of a second recall of a spring coal recall was a recall before I purchased the car and was not informed of it also, they then proceeded to tell me that at that time they did not have any loaner vehicles available & that they can place me on a waitlist or that I could call around to different dealerships to see if they had any available. They stated that they only had 4 loaner vehicles on there lot & that they were using them only for their customers & they would come first before anyone else. I called three other dealerships they all put me on the waiting list with no response back & several attempts inquiring about the loaner vehicle. I have not driven the car since July up until the date, while I had been driving prior to July I had had several problems with the suspension on the car, had the car services twice at the dealership I purchased the vehicle from with no solution to the problem when I'm driving the car you can smell a tire burning smell & they said it was ok to drive. I thought otherwise so I completely stop driving the car still payed the carnote monthly & car insurance waiting on the loaner vehicle. Because of this I have almost lost my job, missed worked & had to car pool my kid's & I back & forth to school & work. I talked to the Nissan corporation they investigated it & informd me that they would not be able to reimburse me & still proceeded to keep me on the waitlist I have recently given the car back requesting for a refund.

31 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2010 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/01/2017

Takata airbags: the passenger airbag is not working properly. It comes on when nobody is in the passenger seat and it goes off when someone over the weight capacity sits. It's suppose to come on when it recognizes weight over 120 lbs, but it does not; however when I am driving down the road (alone), all of a sudden it just pops on (when nobody is in the passenger seat. I am so afraid for myself and that of those riding with me. This is a "clear and present danger", this takata airbag issue needs to be finally fixed and soon! I have taken my vehicle in twice for the same recall. First time, I was told a temporary part was put in until the permanent one came from the manufacturer (that was earlier this year), then I received a call from this same dealership that the permanent part was in. So I took it back in July for it to be installed and yet, that part has been recalled also. The dealership tells me "they are waiting on the manufacturer for the replacement part that will finally fix this issue with the takata inflator airbag issue. Meanwhile and as I wait, I am putting myself in danger driving the car and those who ride with me. This inflator issue needs to be fixed and soon! I need help getting the proper resolution that will remedy this situation. The manufacturer need to speed up the process and make this a priority to get resolved as I have two Nissan Versa's and both have the same takata inflator issues under the recall. My other car is a 2008 Nissan Versa also needing the permanent part to fix it's inflator issue.
