1 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2012

I filled up the gas tank and noticed that the gauge failed to rise to reflect the amount of fuel I added. A day later the check engine light came on, registering code p0463. Since this incident, the check engine light has been on and the fuel gauge has been reading various levels of fuel, with no way to determine if it is accurate or not.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2010

My 2006 Nissan Xterra fuel gauge is not showing the proper amount of fuel that is going into the tank. I fill it up and the gauge stays on empty. It will not register a full tank. The service engine light remains on and will not go off. After performing a search, I came across many others who have experienced the same problem. Apparently it has something to do with the fuel sending unit. A similar problem was found on the 2000-2004 Xterra models and a recall was performed when the vehicle would stop after not getting any fuel, posing a great danger. It seems that something in the unit is faulty and will corrode over time. There is a general consensus that everyone who is having the problem is experiencing the same thing after having the vehicle for over 2 yrs and with around 39k-49k. If this problem existed in previous models, and it was recalled, the 2005-2007 Xterras, frontiers, and pathfinders should get this fixed at no charge to the customer!! why wait for accidents and possible deaths, especially since the problem lies in an integral part of the vehicle. Cost of repair ranges from $300-600. ".

3 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2010

-fuel system has a problem registering the amount of fuel in the tank, the problem is associated with a faulty fuel level sending unit that Nissan refuses to recall. -whining noise coming from inside the engine, noise comes from a faulty timing chain tensioner guide that Nissan refuses to recall.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2010

The gas gauge has been an issue not reading properly and in fact the gauge may also show the steady amber light indicating there is no gas in the tank, when it is a full tank of gas. The steering column was found metal shavings from the Nissan dealer. I had complained about the shaft having trouble. I was informed that it was a plastic pin that broke and there will be no effect on the steering. So I had brought it back after 4 years of dealing with loose steering wheel. Invoice 284857 from the valley hi Nissan tag t7933 was repaired 03 April 2015. I feel this should have been a recall since I found there are many complaints from midas mechanic.
