I have a 2005 Nissan Xterra and the blower motor for my heating and air conditioning went out on it and when I went to the dealership the gentlemen from the parts department told me that this is a issue they have seen a lot lately. With my Nissan not being that old I don't think the motor should be going out.

Problems with the way the defogger works on the 2003 Nissan Xterra. The consumer turned on the defogger the air conditioner compressor started to operate, as it should. But when the control switch was turned form defogger the compressor remained on. The only way to get the compressor to turn of was to stop the vehicle, turn it off, then turn it back on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the system was operating as designed. The consumer believes the vehicle should be recalled in order to modify the defogger system so that the air conditioner compressor stops operating when the control is moved away from the defogger position.
