2oo2 olds Alero, present mileage@5/17/20-187,037. Where do I start? okay, the trunk has started to arbitrarily decide to pop open. . . Apparently during rain/thunderstorms. . . I wonder if this has anything to do with the door locks recently deciding to not lock the passenger side when using switch on dr,side door. . . And now since the trunk's been popping open for the last 3wks,the key fob won't open the trunk, and the button on interior door to the trunk won't work either, unless the car is running(and not all the time then, either) interior door locks won't respond to the interior switch anymore. . What a pain in the a**. . . . I'm keeping a bungee cord over the spoiler to the bumper to keep the trunk closed. Fyi~I keep the car on a trickle charge to the battery24/7 ,since I avoid driving the thing-the passlock bs seems to cause the battery to drain since it has to sit with the key on. Also carry a noco charger at all times in case I need a jump. . The rust is unbelievable. Rear fenders are all but crumbled off. Have to fix dr,side window now~had to fix pass. Side 2yrs ago. Regulator afu, probably need new switch, window went off the track, getting good at taping them up discreetly. The aluminium rims cause slow leaks in tires, buy yourself an inflator. . Massive power steering leak now, brake lines replaced twice. . They're under the car exposed to where they get to rust away constantly~I live in north west ohio where it snows&rains alot,so I'm hosed. Once I mastered the passlock 2step I thought that it couldn't get any worse~but in reading all the other complaints& starting to have what may be a bcm issue,I'm not driving this thing if I don't have to! I paid my aaa dues and full coverage insurance. . Oh,yeah-had that"recall" a few yrs ago and all they did was monkey around with the keys, not the ignition! I've been told a 100 times I'll need a new ignition~anybody out there have $700???.

Just got this car from the dealer and there is a gas leak also the key comes out of the ignition with the car on acceleration I have to put it back in and wiggle it to get it off and there's a o-ring sensor leak can't pass the echeck. I've had this car since August and the estimate to get the car fixed to pass the check is over the amount for the car and I am still paying a note when the car is station is leaking gas when it is motion it barely leaks when I park it, it pours out.

While driving down a street a car ran a stop sign causing a t-bone collision. My airbags never deployed because of my airbags not deploying I hit my head on the front window pane. If the airbag had deployed I would have never hit the front window causing my two head contusions, sprained neck, and herniated discs.

Both the driver and the passenger windows fell off the tracks, so I had a friend pry them up and he got the windows to stay up, but you could not use either window. I did not have the money to get the windows fixed for a while until I was finally able to afford to get the driver's window fixed in may 2008 which cost $385. 00. They replaced the regulator. On 12/4/2008, it happened yet again to the driver's side window and the warranty was only good for 60 days labor/30days parts, so I am yet again not able to use either window. I was told by quite a few people that this is a very common problem and that if I got it fixed yet again, it would probably happen yet again. I did not see this defect listed on the recall list however.
: the contact stated the driver's seat is not properly secured to the floor. The seat moves back and forth while driving. The dealer replaced the seat riser underneath the seat. This did not remedy the problem. The dealership determined the actual floor of the vehicle was defective. The dealership temporarily fixed this by inserting foam rubber between the seat riser and the floor.

Faulty adhesive used on the dash; causes buckling and peeling of dash pad. It is starting on the driver's side and spreading to the passenger side of the dash. This has not been corrected, as no dealer or repair shop will touch it. All say to go to gm with issue. Gm will not fix it either.
I have (2) 2000 Oldsmobile Aleros on which the vinyl covering on the dash has detached from its back and has created wavy wrinkles. A web search shows this is a widespread problem in Aleros.
Several failures of either front brakes or rear brakes requiring complete replacement. Failure happens after less than 20,000 on each set of brakes. There has been at least 3 wheel hub replacements on driver side as well as 2 wheel hub replacements on the passenger side. Both drivers window and passenger window motors have been replaced twice.
When I brake there is a grinding noise going on underneath the front of my car. Happens when I brake going down hill, or when I have to brake suddenly. When I brake normally, there is this shaking that is going on. I thought I needed new brake pads but that did not remedy the situation. Also, my sunvisor falls off very frequently hitting me in the head. And my driver side mirror shakes violently while im driving. And my tires loose pressure constantly and sometimes the light even comes on when my tires arent low.
Consumer states vehicle would vibrate and the front wheels would grind when brake are applyed, dealer notified and replace the front rotors and the brake pads. Consumer states brakes made a squeaking noise before grinding. Also, the console cover latch failed.
When it rains, there appears a puddle of water on each side of the floor in the back seat. The dealer could not find any leaks, but it still leaks.
Avis rental, returned to sarasota FL airport. While driving consumer wanted to adjust sunvisor, it fell off and hit her on the head. This caused her to veer off to side off road.
Consumer took car into dealer 4 times for water leaking into vehicle. They did not know how water was getting into vehicle. Whenever it rains or snows the back and front rugs, and the trunk gets soaked, dealer has adjusted doors, replaced cracked sill plates, replaced door deflectors, reinstalled sealer to water deflectors, and replaced door window channels.
The vehicle interior floor is staying wet. We have taken the vehicle in and was told the problem was corrected, however it is not and we are taking the vehicle in again. We have heard of other people having this problem and will contact you with further information when it becomes available.
