The passenger window fell off track all of a sudden while I was driving on the highway. I pulled it back up and it continues to fall at dangerous time. I don't have the money to get it repaired. It should not have happened as it is.

On March 3, 2005 my 2000 Oldsmobile Alero gl v6/3. 4l would not start. On March 4, 2005, all 3 distributor coils were replaced as well as all 6 spark plugs. The car worked fine until March 7, 2005 when while driving the car for about 10 minutes, the car shut down. It coasted to the side of the road and I could not get it to start again. In both instances the car seems to try to start but is unsuccessful. In my online research, this appears to be a very common problem with no known resolution for other owners of the Alero. Additionally, after the window fell into the driver side door, on October 19, 2004, I had the mechanism for the driver side window replaced. In December 2004, the same window failed to work at all. I have not had it fixed again. The water pump was replaced after a sudden coolant leak completely depleting the system in November 2003, and the same situation occured again requiring the water pump to be replaced again in February 2005, a little over a year later. One of the cigarette lighters stopped working in June 2004. The service engine light, tire pressure light, and coolant light come on intermittently with no apparent problem. The interior dome light is touch and go, meaning if I touch the case, it may or may not go on or off. The front brake system has been replaced more times than I can count on my one hand in the nearly 3 years that I have owned it. The signal lights would stop functioning and buzz hideously until I pressed the hazard button. Water has collected in the front passenger floorboard and in the trunk from seal failure. The engine seems to burn oil quickly.

The tires were defective. The tire pressure will not sustain. The tire pressure light stays on, and the consumer had to add air daily. The dealer refused to cooperate. The left front door body side was falling, the solder joints in the hazard warning flasher switch may crack, the coolant light had come on, there was an erratic sound when the ignition was first turned on, the driver window had a water leak, the left power window won't seal, the regulator was broken, and the key would get stuck in the ignition intermittently due to binding cylinder lock. Passenger window made a screeching sound and would not roll up. When window did roll up it dropped down inside the door. Regulator had to be replaced and the window was scratched.
I bought my car with 14 miles on it. In the first year, I had to have the molding on the doors replaced because they leaked. The drivers side window fell into the door. I've been told that it is my regulator that needs to be replaced. I also found a broken clip just sitting inside my door. You can't buy just a regulator or clips so I will need to buy those parts plus the motor which will cost at least $280. My rotors also needed to be shaved down because they were warped and my brakes needed to be replaced and now, only 5 months later, they need to be totally replaced because they are warped again and my brakes will have to be replaced as well. This is the worst car I've ever owned! my first and last experience I will ever have with gm!! I realize things happen to cars, but I would expect Oldsmobile to acknowledge these re-occurring problems and be held accountable to fix them.
On several occasions while driving, my Alero has completely shut off. The first time it happened, I was going 55 mph in traffic. The power steering shut down and it was hard to pull to the side of the road. If it is raining outside, you may as well just park it. It will not crank easily and it acts like it doesn't want to run once you get it to start. Of course, when you take it to the shop they can't find anything wrong with it. My driver's side power window will not roll down. The low tire pressure light goes off every other day, even though the air pressure is fine and the interior doors look awful because the trim has come unglued. This is the worst car I have ever purchased. I would like to know what I can do to get this car repaired or replaced.
The car has had five complaints issued to the dealer in the past 11 months, regarding driver's side door lock, automatic trunk latch, power failures. The dealer has been very good about attempting repairs, finding in the last two complaints that water is leaking into the fuse panel. The previous complaint resulted in a new fuse box, and computer. The last complaint resulted in another new fuse box. While I do like the car, and my dealer, I am losing faith quickly in the car itself. I am uncomfortable going long distance with it due to its apparent regular power failures. It is a nuisance to have it towed and to be without it for days at a time. I am also concerned about shorts and fires since the electrical system is involved. I am not sure what the next step is, but the car is not reliable to me.

When applying brakes, steering wheel would vibrate. Had taken to dealership, and had the rotors resurfaced or replaced. Problem still present. Consumer states tire had to be replaced at 6000 miles, insufficient sealing caused water to leak in to drivers side rear foot well, both front door opening w/strips and door panel water barriers were replaced and also power window squeaks when going up and down.
I bought the car new at a florida dealership on 11/1998. Less than two years later the material on the door panels was coming off. . . Detaching. . . The vinyl lifted off the upper door panel. Took the vehicle in for service to replace on 09/2002 under manufacture warranty. Material on door panel is now coming off the door panel again. Manufacture warranty has expired and refused any assistance in fixing this problem.
Both doors leak when raining and soak back carpet, consumer states it does not happen every time.
When I opened the passenger door, the unfinished vertical molding cut my thumb.
Front rotors warped at 2500 miles but not replaced per the dealer for 5000 more miles. Also, water leaking through both doors (l and r) and has been repaired multiple times. They are now using duct tape to "fix" the leak and they tell me this is legitimate. Water leaks every time it rains.
The interior trim pieces and door panels were replaced due to warping.
During a heavy downpour the rain enters the passenger cabin through driver's side door.
Consumer cut his hand on a very sharp crimped edge of the door trim, dealer never attempted to correct or advise, said all Alero's are the same. Nlm.
No summary listed for above vehicle.
Consumer states power locks will lock and unlock on their own while vehicle is turned on and while driving.
This vehicle is equipped a lot of safety features such as side impact protection, all-speed traction control, etc. However a very important item was omitted. They did not install a "door ajar" sensor on the vehicle at all. I sent a request to the Oldsmobile manufacturer, but they never responed to my inquiry. As we have children, on a four door car, we feel that this is a necessity. Please help any way you can. We hope to prevent a potential accident from occuring to us to others.
