5 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2002 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 03/26/2006

Turn signal malfunction involving flickering of turn signal at random. I will be driving and hear the flasher go off erratically. No consequences except a lot of annoyance from the sound and having to replace the flasher myself. Will save old part.

6 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2002 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 02/22/2006

2002 Oldsmobile Alero. At 57,000 miles turn signals are occasionally inoperative. Fuses were changed and they still fail on occasion. Identical problems resulted in the recalls of the 2000 and 2001 olds Aleros. Upon reviewing internet web sites I discovered that there are many other Alero owners whom are having the same problem. A temporary solution until the hazard switch can be replaced is to slap the dashboard near the hazard switch to make it operable. The inability to alert other drivers of the intent to change lanes, or make turns is a safety issue.

7 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2001 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 10/01/2005

2001 Oldsmobile Alero. The consumer complained about p emergency hazard light and right and left turn signals problems. Turn signals did not work. Contacted GMC. , and checked consumer's VIN, then was told there was no recall on this car. Went to progressive website, the consumer's insurance company, and found recalls on 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. Consumer just purchased my vehicle a week ago. As I was on my way home with vehicle and turn signals would not work. Would like the dealership to fix this problem. This was a safety issue. Could be at fault if someone hit consumer's vehicle as it was turning because of the turn signals.

My VIN number is not covered for bulletin number 03043a issued March 2004 for gm turn signals/hazard warning flashers inoperative, but the car is doing exactly what is covered in the recall. The VIN breakpoint should include yc369922. My car is a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero.

The tires were defective. The tire pressure will not sustain. The tire pressure light stays on, and the consumer had to add air daily. The dealer refused to cooperate. The left front door body side was falling, the solder joints in the hazard warning flasher switch may crack, the coolant light had come on, there was an erratic sound when the ignition was first turned on, the driver window had a water leak, the left power window won't seal, the regulator was broken, and the key would get stuck in the ignition intermittently due to binding cylinder lock. Sc.

12 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 07/29/2004

I purchased a 2000 Alero that currently has approximately 52. 000 miles on it. Almost overnight, almost a month ago from today, the dashboard vinyl buckled, waved, and started pulling away from the dashboard. At this same time, the turn signals began to intermittently stop working completely. I have found numerous web sites where other Alero owners have had the same issues. I realize that the dashboard is cosmetic and not a safety issue. However, the turn signals are a problem. Gm will not recall the Alero even though they have a history of serious defects that have nothing to do with owner neglect. Gm should be forced to recall this sad excuse for a car. I'm complaining to you specifically because I feel as though no one else will listen to the hoards of Alero owners with the same problems.

13 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2001 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 07/21/2004

I purchased this vehicle 24 oct 02, from a small car lot. On 25 oct 02, my turn signals failed to work. I took it in to the car lot and they put a four-way flasher in it. On 26 oct 02, it wouldn't start. I called the car salesman and he said since it was a Saturday, they couldn't do anything about it until Monday. After working on it for several hours, my father finally cleaned out the fuel line and got it started. On Nov 6 2002, my driver side window fell down into the door as I was attempting to roll it back up. I took it to the dealership the following day and they supposedly corrected the problem. On 24 Nov 02, I was driving down the interstate when all of a sudden the engine died and the "trac off" light came on. I had a roll back haul it in to a mechanic. I called the dealership and they said my one month/1,000 mi warranty had expired and they were not going to cover charges. The fuel pump was replaced at a cost of 600. 00. In Mar 03, my car began vibrating when I applied the brakes. I took it to a local brake shop and they put a new set of rotors on my vehicle because the old ones (from the factory) were too thin to be resurfaced. In Jun 03, I took my vehicle back for the same problem and it was corrected in the same way, with new rotors. In may 04, my window fell back down into my door. My father glued the piece back on that had broken loose. On Jul 8 04, I took my vehicle to a local Oldsmobile dealership to have the brakes repaired. The rotors had to be resurfaced and new pads were installed. Also, on 21 Jul 04, I took my vehicle to the same dealership to have the windows repaired. They told me it would cost $600. 00 to have them fixed because there was some piece that was shattered. I then took my car to a local wreck-repair shop and the guy fixed it free of charge. He said there was only a piece that had came unglued and that the passenger side didn't even need any repairs at all. I have definitely had the most problems with my car's windows.

16 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 01/27/2004

Turn signals do not always flash or continue to flash when activated! I brought this to the attention of the Oldsmobile dealer during the first year (1999) that I had the vehicle. The dealer supposedly fixed the problem. However, during the past year, the problem has resurfaced. The flasher is sealed under the dash and is not easily accessible as in most vehicles where the turn signal flasher unit can be replaced off the shelf at any local auto parts store. Today, I was entering a freeway when the flashers stopped flashing. They continued to flash when I pushed and released the hazard signal button. This problem causes a safety hazard because the turn signals are not reliable and not easily accessible without removing part of the dashboard.

Failure Date: 01/13/2004

While driving at any speed hazard and signal lights did not work properly. The hazard and signal lights malfunctioned over thirty times. The problem would also occur in the rain more than once and while in traffic.

When using the turn signals there was no indication inside of vehicle that the signal lights were in use or not. Also, there no lights were blinking. 19 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 10/29/2003

2000 Oldsmobile Alero - turn signal/hazard lamp failure I have a copy of a recall notice #03v-327 from the NHTSA to gm regarding this condition, however no one at my local dealership nor anyone at the national customer service center knows anything about it or is willing to honor it. I feel it is a dangerous situation that gm - having fullnotice of the risk involved - needs to act on before more consumers experience this as I have.

21 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2001 Oldsmobile Alero

Signal/hazard light failures, repeatedly. They work then they do not. They do not work, then they do work. 25 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 03/28/2003

On my 2000 Alero the turn signals work sometimes, no other times. Also blink erratically. The upper middle brake light is the only one that works. Flashers stop working sometimes, then start again. I believe this is some type of short in the wiring system. I know of two other Alero owners that are experiencing the same problems.

26 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero

27 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 07/25/2002

Front driver side power window regulator failed. Window will not roll up or down. Rear seat does not clasp into proper harness - I too kit to russ darrow and they said a seat is "cosmetic, and it is as fixed as it is going to get". . Turn signals do not work 70% of the time. The lighter was pushed into the main jack to be used, the lighter never popped out properly. As a result both jacks are inoperable. Rotors were replaced at 37,000 but there is still very loud wobbling noises and tire noise. Dealer suggests new tires, the tread is fine on the current tires. New tires will only mask the noises.

28 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

Failure Date: 07/01/2002

I have a 2000 olsmobile Alero. The turn signal only works about 89% of the time. The manufacturer has redesigned the switch that fixed the problem but will not recall the switch. This is a serious safety issue and is in my opinion due to manufacturer defect. I have heard several other complaints of similiar problems at a yahoo webpage for Oldsmobile owners. Please follow with this and test, I feel the manufacturer should recall the equipment and be fixed.

30 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

Turn signals do not work 95% of the time, a huge saftey feature on a car.
