Two problems related to steering column have been reported for the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Steering is locking up while making left hand turns which could cause loss of vehicle control. Oldsmobile dealer has attempted to fix defect 3-4 times by replacing steering column shaft and other related parts, but there is still a crunching noise when turning. Consumer again took vehicle to dealer who claimed a pulley needed to be replaced which could not be done because a special tool was needed to perform the repair . Tool was on national backorder and has not provided a date as to when tool will be availble.
Steering broke. Car was totally uncontrollable. Went into a steep ditch with a mom and two children in it. The front wheels were facing out like steering column broke.
