Steering Wheel problems of the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Five problems related to steering wheel have been reported for the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Steering Wheel problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2001

While driving 60mph swerved to avoid an accident. Steering wheel locked up. Towed to dealer, and informed consumer rack and pinion malfunctioned and needed to be replaced.

2 Steering Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2001

The intermediate shaft failed causing clunking, metallic noise which was felt in the steering wheel when driving over rough pavement. Nlm.

3 Steering Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2000

The transmission has an intermittent problem that two dealers have tried to fix, then tell me that the condition is normal. The brake rotors have warped, it took three trips to the dealership repair shop to fix the problem. Warranty was charged twice on brake repair when only one repair was done. Defroster function on car was inoperative due to water collecting in ac unit. Ac has moldy smell that has not yet been corrected. Very dissatisfied with dealerships that try to repair car.

4 Steering Wheel problem

Failure Date: 08/01/1999

After starting vehicle then reversing could hear noise coming from front end, brakes had gone out and had to be replaced. Air conditioner had blownout hot air instead of cool air. Had to be repaired.

5 Steering Wheel problem

While driving steering wheel makes a clunking noise when turning. Please give further details. Dealer contacted.
